BEWARE: Ghouls love this sword...hehe It is nice over all..but ghouls are fairly common. Nothin like divin' into a couple of blues and finding out you brought a knife to a gunfight. (It does look groovy, though...)
Better than most people think...

People are bashing this weapon because it isn't magic, and because it's heavy. Personally, I think it's the best weapon in my inventory.

As far as the non-magic goes... how many exp mobs from level 1 to level 45 actually require magic weapons to hit? Not many. If you do the cliche levelling route (EC, Oasis, LOIO/HK, OT, DL), you won't need a magic weapon at all. At level 42, I'm slaughtering drolvargs and drachnids in the Dreadlands, and this weapon works just fine on them. Eventually, I'll need to swap it out for something magical (for Planes and the like), but for now it's great.

And for the weight... yes, it is heavy. But any self-respecting warrior (or even a hybrid) should have their stamina above 100. And when your stamina is above 100, you don't need to worry about that yellow bar at all. Even if your stamina is low, there are ways to avoid suffering from the weight of this - sit down between fights, or get a stamina boost from your group's bard/buffer/whoever.

I paid 500pp for this weapon, and I certainly don't regret it. The delay is fairly low - I never have trouble keeping aggro when I'm main tank. The damage is wonderful, although that's a secondary consideration. And the resists are great for duelling annoying wizards. Overall, it's a good weapon, and certainly worth several hundred platinum.

Well for a Warrior maybe it's not a problem, especially Ogres and Trolls, but for a non to lightly twinked Elf Warrior, or Bard/Ranger/Rogue it's pretty tough to get over 100 STA w/o sacrificing AC. My DE Rogue has stamina problems in prolonged fights while using Spinechill Spear/Centi SS combo, neither of which is as heavy as this sword.

Shaded Blade goes for around same price as Centi SS, and the Centi is MAGIC, has +STR/STA, and weighs less. No question in my mind Centi SS is the way to go, and they're common enough that you can buy one in a couple hours at the most.
no magic sucks big time
# Jan 15 2002 at 9:16 AM Rating: Decent
actualy this weapon has good resists and good dmg ratio BUT it's not a magic weap, wich means if you try to hit creatures needing a magic blade you will find out realy quick it sucks big time and you can't even wound the mob...

this means 2 things : if you're soloing you're dead, and if you're grouped you'll be a laughable useless braindead piece of meat

I can think of 2 things that need magical off the top of my head, barring high-levels where 12 24 is dumb anyway. Willow-wisps and L Guk. Both easily avoidable.

I want this blade because 1) it looks SWEET ! 2) Great ratio 3) Nice resists, except fire. oh well and 4) because of people like this, it goes cheap.

You want 500pp for a 12 24 ? Yes plz !

PVP

Comin from a PVP server I must say that this weapon is awesome for PVP encounters for melees. The resists are a no brainer and the speed and dmg ratio is very very nice. No magic is needed when cuttin off yer fellow Norrathians head in PVP so have at it. Just figured I'd put my 2 cents in on uses in PVP combat.
Not too Bad

Picked one up in EC last night for 2K on Erollisi Marr. Gave it to my 35 Paladin. he definately takes a Stamina hit, but the ratio is real good. Overall it's a decent weapon.

I doubt it. As a Troll Warrior you cannot have Stamina under 100, so the weight of a weapon as far as combat is irrelevant to you. If you mean it's too heavy to carry around, invest in a weight-reducing bag. One thing a Troll Warrior should never, ever have to do is reject an item because of it's weight.
beware
