first, after having played a BST with a ulak (that really common one that drops in MS or somewhere on da moon) and hating every moment, lol it wasnt fast enough for such a weak thing. so i got a SK and a shissir knight sword. did me well thru PC, v. fast, then i got given this baby, a shaded blade that looked UBER! it hit hard n fast, way better then my hunka junk BST.. lol couldnt even solo in PC with bst, btu with SK i flew thru, solo or not, with these two. now i cant wait to get a dual weilding class, with two of these! P.S: sadly, now i have a longblade of vitality.. i love it, but not as kewl lookin as shady blade :-P although, it is a kewl looking weapon (wonders if i got a nice arg, it would glow?)

This droped off of The protector in Akeva Ruins for me a couple of nights ago. Not the best sword, but not the worst either. Has kinda cool graphic as well, solid center part with a black translucent (SP?) outer part.

I love this little sword of mine, magic or not at lvl 33 and rising there aren't many mobs that need to be hit with a magic weapon, and the ones that do, I've got my Jasarth Trident to dual with my primary fungus encrused hammer, I really think this is a great mid level weapon, though it KILLS my svfire, being a troll I only have 5 naturally, and I only have 4 now because my thunder etched pauldrons add 4, and if I do get that PSC I've had my eye on I'll be down to 1 svfire, it looks like I won't be the MT on any naggy raids anytime in the future. Anyways, this is a great mid level weapon, just make sure you have a backup, or you might be caught in a bad spot with this. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR
Ok...Friend gave me this sword for a dorf warrior alt..I checked and double checked it...mine says Magic Item, Lore item. Think either there are 2 swords with same stats and ratio with same name or..they changed it in a patch..check your swords again. Mine does say Magic Item.
I thought to myself, how lucky I was to find one of these at the venders in SH, for only 30 plat. My 55 Shadow Knight was very happy untill he tryed useing it against some undead snake guys inthe the Grey and even afew Sarnarks in Chardok only to get the message that the mobs couldn't be hit with it, also imune to the blade were the darned green stone grabbers in echo.
This would be a much more useful weapon if it was magic. ( I'll have to look more closely next time before I buy, although 30 plat is'nt much )
I jus picked up a Centi short sword and a Shaded Blade for my ranger and im wondering which should go in primary and which should go in secondary?Any suggestions????
I have a bard and have same weapons, I use Shaded in primary and CSS in off hand.. Shaded is better delay.. Only thing bad about shaded is it's not magical.. I carry another sword just in case..

Last I checked sta only counts when swimming or jumping. Thats why i don't have any food or water...ever. No pt in paying 4k for a lammy when you can get this thing dirt cheap.
Another thing, for any bards who are looking to get something like this...this is not a magical weapon (which I really do think it should be, as the rest of the Shaded equipment is all classified as MAGIC), but you can make it magical by singing your new lvl 9 Luclin song "Magical Monologue". This song grants any weapon the ability to hit magical creatures (therefore, this blade now becomes magic when singing this song). Unfortunately, you'll have to sacrifice one of your usual songs sung during combat to twist this in.
Just a workaround for bards who are looking to make this sword worthwhile. (I'm currently having to sing Anthem de Arms, Jaxon's Jig o Vigor, and Magical Monologue to make this sword work when fighting a ghoul or any other magical creature...or I just crush it to oblivion with my Di'zok Wristsnapper..*grin*).
Currently level 20 and still don't see a dmg bonus on this weapon, anyone know if a dmg bonus actually exists on it?
Damage bonus is level dependent. Once my warrior dinged 28, all his 1h weapons got a bonus of 1. The 2h weapons have delay based bonuses as well. My Argent Defender 33/49 has a bonus of 7, at lvl 28.
OK, I managed to buy one of these for my bard from Shady in EC for a whopping 6pp and change (wound up being near 7pp). I was looking for a centi LS or a centi SS from a PC and just happened to wander by Shady to see what he had. Well, before knowing exactly the worth on this thing, I bought it just because it had a good dmg/delay to it. I was surprised to see that with all the stats on it, it wasn't a MAGIC item. However, I still love the blade and the only problem I've been encountering is its weight. It weighs 8.0 so my stamina plummets when I use it. If it weren't for Jig o Vigor, I'd be useless after about 2 minutes.
One more thing, on my blade, it doesn't mention a Dmg Bonus. Does this appear after a certain level? My bard is only level 17. So just wondering since the pic on here states that there is a dmg bonus.
One more thing. I also managed to buy a set of Braided Ivy Cords for a bit under 6pp from Shady. I don't need the cords, having a set of my own, but I bought them anyway to give to a friend.
So if you're in EC and looking for a steal (which it probably is anyway in the first place), make sure you stop by Shady and see what he's got before anyone does.
looks rather like this is another 'our database programmers work 24/7, don't expect them to flag every item properly' thing. Like the crusty shell shield that was flagged 'magical' after it was out for years - like Moktor and Raldukan Armor that used to be ranger usable etc. etc. I hope big V start doing their homework soon and clean up their database mess. All other shaded stuff is 'magic, lore', so should this.
Hope they fix it in one of the following patches, so i can use it as raid-resist-gear with the Sarnak Battle Shield (who cares how much damage output I lose .. it's less than spending 3/4 of the raid at my bind point because I died in the first AoE wave ;oP )
My girl's 15 ranger got it off some guy in Kelethin and i wanted to know who the heck drops it! Sure its heavy and sure it's not magic but at 15 shes hittin for 25 (give or take) definitley her fave wep...
this is cheep looks bad @$$ and is a good offhand if ur not goin to fully twink out also if try to hunt for it, its not that hard to get the only prob is winning the roll=).
Shaded items are droping (quite frequently) from the xi thall/vius/xaui. Rarity info for 3 days 3 shaded blades 2 shaded staffs 1 shaded dager 1 shaded shield Also droping spells, medalions one 12ac svall 5 svm 15 another lower end one 5svall other stats escape me atm, belt for melee clases only nice str/ac. Quite alot of drops from these mobs, watch out fer drop nerfing once farmers learn about =/ Hope info helps some.
Thorisdoon 52vicar (new home maidens eye! till i get the ac 20 earing ;) )
I think this sword looks and i'm sure that a dmg:12 bonus dmg:10 is awesome man! it looks kool too, anyone know a price? 20th season ranger Tazain Blackmontain
BEWARE: Ghouls love this sword...hehe It is nice over all..but ghouls are fairly common. Nothin like divin' into a couple of blues and finding out you brought a knife to a gunfight. (It does look groovy, though...)
People are bashing this weapon because it isn't magic, and because it's heavy. Personally, I think it's the best weapon in my inventory.
As far as the non-magic goes... how many exp mobs from level 1 to level 45 actually require magic weapons to hit? Not many. If you do the cliche levelling route (EC, Oasis, LOIO/HK, OT, DL), you won't need a magic weapon at all. At level 42, I'm slaughtering drolvargs and drachnids in the Dreadlands, and this weapon works just fine on them. Eventually, I'll need to swap it out for something magical (for Planes and the like), but for now it's great.
And for the weight... yes, it is heavy. But any self-respecting warrior (or even a hybrid) should have their stamina above 100. And when your stamina is above 100, you don't need to worry about that yellow bar at all. Even if your stamina is low, there are ways to avoid suffering from the weight of this - sit down between fights, or get a stamina boost from your group's bard/buffer/whoever.
I paid 500pp for this weapon, and I certainly don't regret it. The delay is fairly low - I never have trouble keeping aggro when I'm main tank. The damage is wonderful, although that's a secondary consideration. And the resists are great for duelling annoying wizards. Overall, it's a good weapon, and certainly worth several hundred platinum.

Well for a Warrior maybe it's not a problem, especially Ogres and Trolls, but for a non to lightly twinked Elf Warrior, or Bard/Ranger/Rogue it's pretty tough to get over 100 STA w/o sacrificing AC. My DE Rogue has stamina problems in prolonged fights while using Spinechill Spear/Centi SS combo, neither of which is as heavy as this sword.
Shaded Blade goes for around same price as Centi SS, and the Centi is MAGIC, has +STR/STA, and weighs less. No question in my mind Centi SS is the way to go, and they're common enough that you can buy one in a couple hours at the most.

actualy this weapon has good resists and good dmg ratio BUT it's not a magic weap, wich means if you try to hit creatures needing a magic blade you will find out realy quick it sucks big time and you can't even wound the mob...
this means 2 things : if you're soloing you're dead, and if you're grouped you'll be a laughable useless braindead piece of meat
I can think of 2 things that need magical off the top of my head, barring high-levels where 12 24 is dumb anyway. Willow-wisps and L Guk. Both easily avoidable.
I want this blade because 1) it looks SWEET ! 2) Great ratio 3) Nice resists, except fire. oh well and 4) because of people like this, it goes cheap.

Comin from a PVP server I must say that this weapon is awesome for PVP encounters for melees. The resists are a no brainer and the speed and dmg ratio is very very nice. No magic is needed when cuttin off yer fellow Norrathians head in PVP so have at it. Just figured I'd put my 2 cents in on uses in PVP combat.

Crom gave me steel, and with steel I will split your skull!!!!
Picked one up in EC last night for 2K on Erollisi Marr. Gave it to my 35 Paladin. he definately takes a Stamina hit, but the ratio is real good. Overall it's a decent weapon.
I doubt it. As a Troll Warrior you cannot have Stamina under 100, so the weight of a weapon as far as combat is irrelevant to you. If you mean it's too heavy to carry around, invest in a weight-reducing bag. One thing a Troll Warrior should never, ever have to do is reject an item because of it's weight.
