This item does not stack with the trophy reward items to increase smithing skill - I tested it on my smith and when each was swapped out - the combo did not improve the stat above the geerlok alone.

Sorry tinkers. Either someone sold a bunch to them or they now carry then instock. Just bought 3 from Marchap Biddinight and 2 from Smithy Firehand in Shadowhaven for 16pp each. They still had at least one if not more still in inventory in the window

That would be that someone sold a bunch. These are all crafted items. Often tinkerers skill-upping will simply sell a bunch back to the vendors that carry ingredients.
Tinkering skill

From what I can see costs on non farmed parts is 20pp. Intead of doing those 900plat conbines get out and farm for these geerloc devices and attempt combines on them. Trivials at 215 I believe.
Acrylia Pieces

Worked on this with a Master Tinkerer last night. By far the hardest part was gathering pieces of Acrylia ore (Thats right. Pieces. Bricks won't work for this)

Camped the Laborers in Tenebrous for about 2 hours and got 2 pieces! Had 3 others from previous hunts.

Good news tho. He went 5 for 5.
Great item! Finally something useful for skill ups! I can't wait to try more Imbued Enchanted Dwarven now.

i do believe that all you need to do to make the blocks into peices is to combine them with a chisle the way you do with all ores. ) have a great day

What is the drop rate of the block of Acrylia?
Also, not being too familiar with tinkering, is the acrylia the hardest component to get?
I looked on this site for cost and there was none.
Anyone know the cost for a block of this?

Tinkering

Well, these are not expensive to make BUT they need a 205+ skill to trivail (if they ever do!). These (meaning all skill increasing tinkered items) will probably sell from 500 to 1000 plat. It may only cost 10-20 plat to make one, but to have a skill that high and make one slaps the whole supply and demand curve way over and really low supply + high demand = high price.

People may think tailoring or jewlery or smithing is the most expensive thing in game....you'd be wrong. I have a 120 skill gnome in tinkering and what most people say takes 1000's of plat for a normal tradeskill takes 10,000's of plat for tinkering. For example, to move from 134-148 skill is 200+ plat a try for an almost useless item. To move from there to 174 skill takes rebreather - litterally 1000 plat A TRY! These sell sometimes thank Tunare. And after that it gets REALLY expensive lol.
Stackable benefit?

If i use this with my Vah Shir (warrior's) cloak, which gives +1% smithing, do I get 6% or just the best bonus of one item? Basically will the percentage bonuses stack?

Yes, it does. My Vah Shir shaman has the cloak that gives a percent on Brewing, and with the Fermentation Device, I've been having a lot more success at making things. Gotta love this new twist to items. :)

This is just a guess, but my 2 CP's are inclined to believe that they WILL stack. These new tinkered items are pretty cool. Tunare bless the Gnomes, finally! (Except for that creepy little SOB Brenclog! That grouchy little Orc-lackey needs to be killed on sight every time).

Let me just say this about tinkering.

I am a tinkerer with a skill of 113. The only way I got to 113 is from a UBER friend who kept throwing 1kpp at me to keep me going. If you are not a powergamer you dont have the required funds to go past the aqualung level. I thought Jewelcraft was expensive until I saw that Rebreathers cost approx 900pp per attempt and required an aqualung first.

The end result of many of the tinkered items up to the aqualung level are pretty much a waste of time. The powered gloves are gnome only (Anyone have a gnome that doesnt already have gloves better than this? Not many) I commend Verant for trying but the sheer cost of tinkering has overwhelmed all but the powergamers.

ALL of the Luclin tinkering recipes are 200+ skill and are great, but its too bad the crap between here and there are so useless and/or expensive.

just my 2 copper.
I'm an old Geezer I guess

God....I envy the players who are just entering the game. Tradeskills and items actually matter now. Quests too. If Verant can put some quests in the game that result in xp for people past lvl 30 (even if they could code them to be doable only once) there might be something else to do other than see who can race to 50(or 60) first.

Two comments:

first on tradeskills, it seems everyone has gotten new worthwhile items, except smiths, who now have to compete with the twilight armor, which is killing the market for human cultural.

Second: quests that give exp above 30, I know of at least one. The Boog and Goob mudtoe head quest that starts in Kaladim gave me a blue of exp at lvl 35, which is a hell level. I'm guessing there are others like that out there.
Too bad its not 2 hand

How expensive are these to make, and what skill is needed. Trying to get an Idea what I should be willing to pay for one!
