I bought this off of a vendor in Everfrost for a few gold. Do they really sell for 50p?

Okay, the graphic shows that its 1H Slashing (odd, considering beastlords can use it). Has it been changed to a piercing weapon since a patch or something?
Nope! You are correct. This is a 1hs weapon. I started a beastlord there and killed the blood drenched saurek in the newbie area in shadeweavers thicket. It is 1hs and looks like a sword when my beastlord welds it. He also slashes when I use it. I have not seen a skill increase in 1hs yet. =P

Patch on 7/24/02 changed it from a 1H Slash to a Piercing weapon....and I was using it to raise my 1HS skill level.
A single blood drenched hopper will spawn if you start to kill some of the needle hopper guys. He's easy enough to spot: in the newbie area (left or south side) he has a redish tint compared to all the other hoppers.

Very nice weapon for low levels up until mid teens, its magic so you can hit willowisps for it and its extremely easy to get if your poor.

I will probaably camp this guy on the weekends for this and sell it in gfay. i have seen it go for 50pp there. ill do it on the lv5 vah shir warrior i barely play. this would be nice with crude bone short sword to dual wield if you got it earlier

blood covered hoppers are uncommon to rare spawns near the newbie area in Shadeweaver's Thicket. I've seen them spawn the most near the rocks on the eastern side of the path. They are a tough fight for 3-4 lvl range, and unlike everything else in the area, they *do* aggro.
on a personal note, going from my Short Sword* to this, i was very very happy.
