You might be lucky and get it from a vendor (of course only if some player sold it to him before), but I wouldn't count on it. You might try an /ooc too, maybe someone got it rotting in bank. There is no NPC vendor who has this item on stock.

This may be the best item you can get in the game under 5PP. They are too common to be worth anything, but too decent to "throw out or destroy." At 5PP, you simply can't beat this deal.

Anyone know of other great "deals" for the thrify EQ player? (items under 100PP, but are decent, or very good)

# Oct 16 2004 at 11:34 AM Rating: Decent
the one i can think of would be the Greatstaff of Thunder (war only 2hb) that usually sells anythere from 10-500pp depending on the server and some other circumstances. If i remember correctly, i got mine for about 20pp

Actually, on Maelin they fly off the shelves for 75p for some reason. Maelin's economy sucks.
Dual Wielding
# Dec 11 2003 at 1:10 AM Rating: Decent
Hi. I'm a newbie to EQ and I have a lvl 16 bst right now with this weapon in primary but i have a masters eitchaka which is only secondary and only for bst but it wont go into my secondary slot whereas other things will like an opal encrusted or crude stein. can someone please help me figure this out so I can double my damage. Thank you. All comments appreciated.

By the way in case any one was going to ask I am a barbarian so I have the right class and race to use this but i dont know why it wont let me. i have also tried other weapons that are primary and secondary and none would go into the slot. the only things that will go in there are torches and steins. thank you again.

I just read a post on the masters eitchatka page that dual weilding for bst begins at lvl 17 is this true? if so it completely answers my question. if any one can confirm this id really appreciate it. now i really cant wait till i hit that 17 lvl. :)
RE: Dual Wielding
# Jan 04 2004 at 5:19 PM Rating: Decent
Yes Check out your skill page at the guildmaster and you can see when you get Dual Wield as well as all your other skills. Then you will be able to wield this easily
400pp is quite a bit.
# Sep 21 2003 at 12:41 PM Rating: Excellent
Everything that is better than this is madly expensive though. So my lvl 15 BST is happy with on now, and shall soon have two.

But what other affordable Hand to Hand weapon can I get?

A rather easy one to get (that is overpriced but I was able to solo the mob at 23) but not as good as the Ulak is the Fist of Horn

https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=7341

It's actually a rather nice drop too for the level of the mob and despite the comments on the item, it dropped first time for me.

these should never ever ever be 400pp these are not 400pp trust me but it is good for the lvl 1-30's but if your a newb then get one but not for 400pp it's just a stupid idea

For broke low lvl characters this is absolutely worth it. If you wield two, you get 50 Hp, and 50 Mana for the Beastlords, and an added bonus of 6 Str and 6 Wis, compiled with 6 Sv Magic. They don't have a bad Dmg/Dly ratio for low lvls either. Combined with a low WT, it makes this weapon unsurpassable at low lvls for its price. You can pick up a pair of these for 10pp.

On Quellious last night in the Bazaar they were 8pp each. Even the most expensive ones were in the 30-40pps. I got a pair for 16pp and gave them to my new monk.

I bought two of these in the bazaar for 4pp apiece when I was level 4, they've been great for a Dual Wielding newbie monk!

My Newb weapon rocks
# Apr 09 2003 at 6:50 PM Rating: Excellent
I just wanted to say my monk got two of these by lvl 3 and I must say they rock for low lvls. I'm in the procces of getting magic weapons and armor for my monk just to buff him up(without asking for magic buffs that only last for a while). I am now looking for any STA buffing armor or equip. That way I can have the HP to go along with it.
cap
# Jan 27 2003 at 5:41 PM Rating: Decent
When does the cap come off of this? I am a 22 beastlord and im still doin 19s and 20s.
RE: cap
# May 19 2004 at 7:17 AM Rating: Decent
OK, here's the deal: Unless you're an ogre (or have ogre like str), up until 20, you'll basically be doing 2*weap damage (unless the weapon damage exceeds the cap of 10 before 10, 15 before 20). After that, it increases quite a bit per skill level. At 20, and for a few levels, you won't hit for more than a couple points over 2*weap damage, but you will do that (rangers and bow damage is a bit different). After 20, unless, of course, you get buffs from a high level person, are when ATK and STR buffs really help for damage.

Trust me, I have more untwinked alts than all the people on all the servers (aside from me) combined.
RE: cap
# Mar 04 2003 at 4:23 AM Rating: Decent
Unfortunately the damage out put on this weapon will always be in the mid to low 20's untill you get a damage bonus. Naturaly the damage is based on STR but with a beast lord I doubt that is your main concern so you can look forword to the damage not improving untill your 40s.

Actually, the damage bonus kicks in at 28 I think and I was getting low 20s damage common enough. I've not reached the 40s yet so can't say more than that hehe

These are good but....

I am a level 41 Beastlord on Tunare and I have been using a pair of Polished Steel Ulaks since level 23. I am now wondering what the next step up in weapons would be for me. Bear in mind that I am only trained well in H2H so piercing weapons and blunt weapons are not an option for me. Every time I look in the bazaar for something better there's nothing good out there for H2H.

Let them rot....
# Aug 30 2002 at 10:24 PM Rating: Default
I hunt tribals alot in DSP. They drop ulaks very often, sometimes this. Most of the time, I just give it to a pet or let it rot. Most of the time, everyones in it for the acryllia. We're too busy to care about this. Nice weapon for a lvl 1-25, then try finding something better. Or if you want, just sit by a grp hunting tribals at GE or ME and loot this. They wont care doody about it Smiley: waycool

These are better than bare hands for a monk or BL up to about level 36 in terms of the dmg/dly ratio. Sure, you will have even better weapons by that point but don't feel too pressured to upgrade them right away.
Dropping Polished Ulak
# Aug 13 2002 at 4:31 PM Rating: Default
I was playing on Test Server helping a tester stress test the Bazar zone when somone did ooc and asked that question about dropping the Polished stl Ulak. He said that it is the weapon thats the problem, something to do with the graphics. I was not paying close attn to it just that if I do drop exchange my items will be in a container or I will get a trusting soul.

Oh ya, he also named off a couple other items that have same problem so if you don't want to lose item then do a container drop.

Lame Price
# May 22 2002 at 2:42 PM Rating: Default
The price needs to be seriously adjusted on this item. It is a good beginner weapon for BL, but you can get it for a lot less than 122pp.
RE: Lame Price
# May 28 2002 at 9:06 AM Rating: Good
Agreed. Going price on The Nameless is currently 50PP each.

This weapon is fantastic for lowbie monks, since monks start with dual wield. Consider that a pair of these adds +6 to STR, WIS, AC and Sv Magic, and on top of that adds +50HP! The fact that they're H2H weapons is an added bonus.
Just go and ask
# May 18 2002 at 8:03 AM Rating: Default
This thing is soo common. Just go to the zone and do a shout now and then. I was hunting in NL and zoned to Med and heal up and did a few shouts. Some body just gave then to me. all I had to do was get a sow and go to him.
