The assassins do indead still spawn, best time is right after a patch, but ran into my 4th one today at $:45 pm ct on the Rathe server, and tommorrow is patch day, so they spawn, just rare. The only spawn place is in the triangle just off from the graveyard, there is a green splotch on the wall, and that is where he spawns. Sir Quickhit Tudanees

Killed one 5 minutes ago. Spawned at +340, -1560. You have to run to all the corners in the immediate area and he will spawn then either invis (out of oggro range) or attack.

If ya look at the Loyalist Shield of Honor quest this weapon is one of the best you can get that a paladin can use against Vampyre only
In the Loyalist quest there is a lvl 62 vampyre that spawns and is only harmed by Bane: vampyre. Either that or you sit around nuking it with Undead spell or have a nice amount of nukers
What lvl would my druid friend and I have to be to get this sword? Would be nice to have on SZ. The proc would make beating on low lvl evils a blast =P.
Having just gotten this rather tasty weapon I point out two things.
First, the stats aren't the best, but the graphic is well worth the bank space.
Second, the quest continues... you upgrade the blade atleast once... and VI has a love of multiple upgrade quests. Ask the Vah Shir, the Iksar SKs, etc.

Having read all the posts regarding this weapon, and the additional dmg bonus to Unknown body type, would it not be sensible to think that this body type is in the form similar toPC's Anon, i.e. Wolf form on a druid etc. Looking at the second part of the quest, it states that undead illusionists appearing not as themselves have to be sough out. If this is so, then the weapon will do dmg to these undead. This will also fall into the use of the weapon since after finding and killing these illusionalists you hand the weapon in for a different item??
I just got this tonight. The "bane damage" is listed. +5 Bane Damage to Vampyres.
Now if only I could find those coterie infiltrators. I gave Phenic Dionicas the holy water given to me by the guy in the tavern. I will leave it to others to do this. I dont care to ruin the fun, but people coming here dont care about fun do they? 8P
NO if it is Doppleganger it says doppleganger, just see Everriculum which should be posted today. My 4/21 stake has a 12 bane damage to body type unknown, so I would imagine that is "Vampyres", and since you are killing "Vampyres" for this quest, I would imagine this is also vampyre bane damage.
unknown body type simply means... figure it out yourself when you get the weapon. vi has said this already... just use it and figure it out. its not specified on the weapon tag so that there is a bit of mystery to the recipient of the weapon.
if any of you have ever typed /who in any zone that has a druid in Wolf form (that wasn't Anon) should know that they are Unknown body types, as well as enchanters that are not in thier natural body types when using illusions, if this is the case, the Evil eyes in EK i saw ones it looked to be a Human (illusion Human) and i know it wasn't just me cause the other 5 people i was grouped with that time saw the same thing as i did,.. that is my 1 silver's worth 8)
Has anyone using one of the weapons with an UNKNOWN BODYTYPE bane damage listed on them actually noticed any effect in combat with one? And if you have a bane-type of weapon, do you get any sort of indicator that it is being more effective, or is it just "added-in" in the background calculations by the server, and never revealed to the players?
Just curious if this is a specific creature type/class with UNKNOWN BODYTYPE, or if this is just a place-holder until Verant can get a few more things worked out?....
There was also a wooden stake of some sort being sold in Katta with 2/23 stats +10 to Unknown Body Type. I'm guessing that the ID for this body type doesn't have a name associated with it correctly. It looks like both the stake and this weapon are for fighting the vampires that are around Katta.
Just like reflective ... wooden stake ... look at the proc - flash of light. For roleplaying this would be great at killing vampyres. but that is my 2cp
