Source of leggings

Most people that get these leggings to drop (and the arms and belts) probably aren't killing the shik`nar for xp, but are killing them to get a lucid shard to drop for their Vex Thal key. In the 15+ hours I spent at this camp getting my shard and helping others get their shards I saw over 40 belts and at least 20 legs drop. They are not too uncommon if you clear the camp over and over again. Gave full sets of chitin to my druid and legs/belts to some other alts then handed out the leftovers at the entrance to CB :)

My wood-elf druid looks like a warrior now though with his plate look :)

I was in the bazaar today after getting 235pp off of some acrylia I was selling. I was just sorta looking at some of the great druid items for sale that I can't afford and drooling on my keyboard when I saw a pair of these for sale. They were only 200pp and I knew that it had to be a good deal. I bought them then and there. Later on, with my alt, I saw em going from 500-1.5k, which is a hell of a lot more then I got em for. These are nice, especially for my level range.

Heh...I found these on the PoS merchant for 6p.

I put them up for sale for just 50p in trader mode and sold them.

Thanks for telling me that Allakhazam, I know it's my fault but I like to shift the blame, I blame that habit on my peers (snicker) Smiley: sly. Anyway i think they need to quit ******** Iksars over on what armor they can wear It's bad enough that everyone hates us we need better AC to run from guards lol. I blame that on Verant lol.
Not for Druids
# Mar 31 2003 at 7:05 PM Rating: Excellent
These leggings are druid wearable but I would say that no druid participating in getting these would wear them. The main reason is that most dru's over 50 (sometimes lower lvl) already have the Elysian Leggings. (AC 16 sta+15 wis+7 int+10 cold+10 HP+50) The Elysian leggings drops from the 53-57 mobs in UP that are rootable, snareable, and dont summon. In other words perfect root/dot candidates for druids to team up and stack dots on. Since the Elysian armors are lore also, ppl including myself, are often calling in OOC that this or that elysian piece is rotting in the SE corner. So most ppl, including myself, got their initial elysian pieces by just bending over and picking it up. By teaming up with other dru's to form a 1942 German u-boat strategy, (wolf-pack surrounds targets....) they can take down the tuffer elysians no prob and get the pieces even faster. Compare that risk/reward with this guy, lvl 63 baddie that drops these leggings.
Lower lvl dru's cant be twinked with the no-drop armor from Umbral unless someone carefully makes his way over there with invis/sow/levitate/nerves-of-steel, but they can wear these brown chitin leggings just by pickin em up in bazaar. Its that sort of decision based on your coin/time resources.

Well, using that logic, nobody would wear these. I seriously doubt that there are many rogues, rangers, beastlord or shaman who can participate in taking this guy down, that don't have better than this. Druids are about the only one of these classes that realistically could get to lvl 55 and not have better than 12ac legs, unless that were hardcore roleplayers, who didn't want to wear anything they didn't loot.

These are nice leggings for any of the listed classes, at lower levels, but 55+, if ANYONE is wearing these, it'll likely be a druid.

Heck, my druid wore them until lvl 54, when I finally stopped being lazy, and made the run to UP, and got most of my elysians, sans arms (by killing them myself, btw, except for one bracer)

OK, I can see your point about druids getting to 55 and still wearing something like gatorscale leggings. I guess I just dont quite understand how someone who prefers to solo wouldn't go pick up the elysian leggings by themself or with a couple other dru's; or why someone who prefers to group wouldnt have some other guild members available for grouping in UP for exp and loot.
Its kind of an education thing I suppose because until someone actually showed me how to run the route to the SE corner of UP with little risk of death, I had thought that UP was one of those too risky zones and didnt hunt in there.
So armed with knowledge that Elysian armors are there for the grabbing, and solo'able, I think that most dru's would just take the time to go get em. One of those "Too good to pass up" things, in my opinion.

You forgot one of the most important(simply because they are often the most prevalent) or classes; the twink. Not all people are able to farm NO DROP gear for their twinks, so droppable gear like this becomes their next best bet. So, under the pretext they cant camp for good gear, you figure they are buying these in the bazaar, thus giving them worth for anyone who needs $$ and is looking to be a candidate for loots.

Didn't forget twinks. Basically my post said that they would be twink only for most classes. Ok, I admit I wasn't aware how limited BL's choice of upgrades are (never played, and don't know any high level BLs), but other than BL or druid, I can't see any of the other classes wearing these post 55.

My main point was that the original poster went a little far saying druids WOULDN'T wear, considering that they are one of the classes that CAN still be efective in 12ac pants at lvl 60.

No rogue, ranger or shaman I know would be caught dead wearing these at 55 (especially the way the prices on Tae Ew gear are dropping).

Ok, bl too, I guess, though leggings of beast mastery would be a nice upgrade :)

Was thinking mainly of the melee classes.

On a Barbarian these will look like "Indicolite", the Warrior PoH armor.

It looks sort of like bronze, but not as orange and not as bright.
Brown?

Iksar can no longer wear the Brown Chitin Leggings. Some moron at Verant apparently thinks that "plate graphic" = "plate class armor". This armor is obviously not plate armor, since all 5 classes that can equip it are unable to wear plate! Needless to say, my Iksar shaman was severely unhappy with the "***** All Iksar" patch (Jan. 23, 2002).

Man you Iksar are always ******** can't you see how these leggings would cause such a serious imbalance in the game, and raise such serious questions of game integrity that were Verant to pander to the whiny few this essentially perfect game would be destroyed, not with a bang but a whimper.

That is irony for all our cousins over the Atlantic.

the future in twink...

This is the new definition of twinking... its only magic, which means a few people farm these mofos, which i have no problem with, and these start circulating... these are going to be the new twink, being very close to No Drop leggings found in naughty zones

Anyone have any idea what drops these?? Just curious since site says multiple which could mean any of the creature types.. Any help would be appreciated.
#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 09 2001 at 12:56 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This seems to be almost a direct upgrade from Kromrif Military leggings for druids. 2 less AC, the same STR/WIS, no CR, but 3 more DR and also 25hp and 25mana. If you are a druid and haven't done the Kromrif quest yet, these would be better for several reasons. Especially since when you're done eith them and have better, you could sell them to a younger druid rather than having more no-drop stuff clogging up your bank or simply destroying.

Hey, nice, these would be a nice upgrade from Ry'Gorr/Ivy etched for Rangers.... if only they were easier to get. By the time you can get some of these as a Ranger, you probably have better stuff.

Hmmm possibly an extension of the brown chitin protector...although the allowed classes list is longer. Perhaps tho now you're druid can run around in a full suit of beetle-wear?
