The first one I killed dropped this, Lucky is better that good any day =). Anyway, I agve it to my Ranger friend, and he thinks it is way cool, I don't get it. It doesn't look good to me, but the next one I get is going to be sold.
Anyways, the lotus has a DS that I assume is pretty big. My level 57 earth pet can solo it after I cast Annul Magic enuf times to dispell the DS. The Lotus will go through about 3 or 4 pets if I can't get rid of the DS. But other than that, I don't have any tips. Hope this helps.

I got one of these last nite yes it is wearable by Clr/Dru/Pal/Rng , I would have to seriously disagree on this item being common , maybe we had a bad Lotus spawn but me and 2 friends 60 Shm and 56 Necro was camping 2 Lotus spawns for several days I would guess we killed atleast 200+ Lotus over those days and only seen this drop once , was there again today for about 7 hours and nada , I still havent seen the whip that the Lotus is told to drop we got nothing 90% of the time except Lotus sap and peddles and 1 Vine necklace , to be honest I dont think anything in Fungus Grove is common drop due to the fact I've pry killed a thousand Mushrooms and only ever got 2 Mushroon Veils , so for common we killed these as soon as they would spawn and thats how loot went , for the 22k price on it . no idea there.I know it took 4ever to get and the Lotus are no easy mob to kill they summons and have a mean dmg they cast was hitting me for around 500+ with a super debuff , It took most of my mana to keep Necro pet and Shaman pet healed to kill .. Good Luck in Your search for this and if you find a Lotus to camp there is usually Mushrooms close by watch the aggro ..

I picked one up today and am confirming it is wearable by CLR DRU PAL RNG and ALL races. Paid 9000pp.

Yes. I got one little while ago, mine said ALL races too. That could boost the price quite a bit

No, even if you are rooted.. you'll get summoned.. which means you are now rooted... right next to the mob =(..
Although on a side note, if the mob is rooted.. he will only summon the closest person on the aggro list, not the person it most hates...

it also skips shamans and dark elves... neither of my priest chars can use it :P

I got one of these and this is wrong the race on it is ALL ,, limited to Rng / Dru / Clr / Pal Class but the race is ALL .. it might of been changed , how ever I know it was Uber hard to get I killed Lotus repeatedly for days and never got anything but sap I was thinking that was all they droppped but after about 900 of them I got the necklace ,

I have been killing these quite a bit lately and havent seen one drop nor heard of one on Povar.

This item lists all the races that can wear small armor, but not gnomes. Strange.

Can't say I've ever seen a gnomish cleric, but my heart goes out to you if you are one. Personally I'm a Half-Elf druid and never turn down a chance to raise my wisdom, but unfortunately medium races were left out altogether. Oh well.

Well, maybe I was just lucky when I soloed such a plant. Didnt get the drop though. This is nearly the best thing for a wizard to happen - a mob that doesnt move, a mob you dont have to snare / root. The only thing you should really have is a MR of about 100. Its imperative to resist the (force shock?) magical attack spell they cast. Else you are toast within seconds. It took about 80% of my mana to kill it (did most with Tears of Druzzil). Happy hunting everyone

When I killed my first lotus, it never summoned and I resisted nearly all the dd's, having a MR of 110. I died twice now of these things, with same resists. They tend to SUMMON and also the dd's got trough, hitting for me for like 450 max.

This is the Rare drop off the Deep Cavern Lotus plants in FG.
They are nasty as yes they do chain cast 500+DD's.
A good group tho will have no problems.
We have killed a lot of these and so far got just the one necklace.
Remember with the new Wis/Int caps, if you're already over 200 Wis this thing now gives you about 96Mana in total!

Fungus Grove is a 50+ zone, you will probably not get a group, nor live long, at level 45.

Just a guess, but it might be that damn lotus thing what doesn't move but casts wizard nukes like there's no tomorrow. Two nukes @ 565 each did me in straight away when I tried to solo it. PC Wizards are frail and can't chain-cast nukes because of interrupts and recast timers. NPC wizards have 3k HP, Melee for 130 and chain-cast nukes for 565 and stun, no problem. :P

I'm not completely sure what lvl the zone is, but my lvl 49 chanter friend groups there. And my lvl 56 magician friend solos there. So i'm guessing lvls 45-60 could hunt there.

Yeah, you play someting unique and lookit what Verant gives ya. =( Same for a Human Cleric...I guess I'm happy I'm a Dorf. Not that I'll see one anytime soon, but hey. =) There's always someday.
