~ It hasn't changed -- the only caveat is a green mob will get beat down quicker than a higher /con mob so you have less melee time on it to get a skill up.

While trying to balance my weapons skills as a young Warrior, I spent a LOT of time hitting blues, on the theory that a hit is a hit and eventually your skill will increase. On one occasion I did get a skill up on a green. Did happen, for sure, only ting I was hitting. When I posted this, it was suggested that if, as you entered a level, a MoB is lt blue, but as you are moving up that level it becomes green, there is a slight chance that you will get a skill up killing the now green MOB. Don't know if that is what really happened, and haven't seen a green skill up since, but there it is.
Hmmm, I grabbed this last week for my beast when he dinged 17, this in primary and polished steel ulak in secondary. I notice also that I got skill ups on greens occasionally.
i picked this up from a trader in the bazaar for 70pp and i though i over paided, but when i looked at the pricing data 6k and 1k, i almost dropped a deuce in my pants, lol, just my 2cp's
you should consider something else for your monk 8wt is way too much, it leaves you with about 6 wt (check out http://www.monkly-business.com for specific weight per lvl) for all other slots, if not your ac will seriously suffer, weight is a curse for monks.
My ranger bought a shaded staff at the bazaar for too much money (but hey, who wants to waste time waiting for right price to be offered?). I had only one training point in 1HB and made the careless mistake of throwing 10 pts. into 2HB [I'm usually so careful with this :( ] -- anyway, I bought my primary (centi shortsword) and it has high enough skill points.
Noone seems to agree on this: I have one level to get ready for my lvl 17 Dual wield and trying to increase my skill as much as possible... the debate --- DO or DO NOT greenies increase your skill points -- or do light blues and up ONLY do this? I've been missing about 8 times out of 10 with my skill pts at 7 ... but, when it does connect it is already hitting over 20 :)
The 12/25 Centi in primary and the 10/22 shaded staff in secondary I HOPE is the way to go... time will tell !!
Safe hunting to all,

Greenies do not give you skill ups in defense, offense, or any weapon related skills. Only mobs you will gain experience from are able to give you skill ups.
Sadly i wanted to rais my defense skill one day to i go over to North Quenos and i get about 5-8 firebettles after me. So i go to a remote location and watch that no qaurds everwent there so i just left it on and took a nap for 5 hours. When i woke up they were all dead and i hadent gotten one point higher to my dismay. So i guess ill just have to leave defence low but offence on the other hand is what HG's are great for. Just get them a little below 20% and they try to run if ur close to full health so once they are snared just use their legs as beating bags. i hope this clears up some confusion. Ohhhh ya and running a casino is the better money maker than Rathe. It got me this a centi short sword, arcylia reinforced sleeves, vindication, and some fireclaw tallons. All of ONE guy. That is what i call money. However my RL friends that are all lvl4'2 is who get it /em tear.
Might I suggest that you get a hold of a smoldering brand and when you get to 17 and train Duel Weild, you will fly through the skill increases? You will be able to max out all skills, i.e. piercing,1hb,1hs if you duel wield 2 of each of those weapons for a few minutes each level. It is what I have done for most of my levels. I did let piercing fall behind and am trying to get that caught back up. But it isn't a huge concern since I have gained my epics.
Currently my skills are something like; 1hs 245 <Earthcaller/Swiftwind> 1hb 236 <use smoldering brand> Pierce 215 <using Black acrylia> 2hs 242 <use Black acrylia to maintain, Swarmcaller to level it fast> 2hb 228 <use Wrath of Nature> H2H 35 <hehe>
These aren't the best weapons to increase, but most are easy to come by <except Epics> and do a fair amount of damage.
At 17 get a few FS piercers, unless you can afford better and the skill flys.
Also don't forget to keep Archery at the top of your list of things to advance, because in the end game, Rangers are all about True Shot and AM3.
I can't tell you for certain about combat skills on greens, but I would want to say they don't since I don't recall seeing any of mine go up until something gives me experience. However other skills, such as Disarm & Intiidation, you can work up on greens. I've worked up my Disarm almost entirely on green orcs & goblins when bored.
Shaded items are droping (quite frequently) from the xi thall/vius/xaui. Rarity info for 3 days 3 shaded blades 2 shaded staffs 1 shaded dager 1 shaded shield Also droping spells, medalions one 12ac svall 5 svm 15 another lower end one 5svall other stats escape me atm, belt for melee clases only nice str/ac. Quite alot of drops from these mobs, watch out fer drop nerfing once farmers learn about =/ Hope info helps some.
Thorisdoon 52vicar (new home maidens eye! till i get the ac 20 earing ;) )
I got off of Xius Xi in Maiden's Eye. We were just inside the zone from Dawnshroud, sittig on the hill just off to the right and this guy was floating around behind us. He was indifferent to most of us, but attacked our druid in wolf form. So we had to join in to save the druid of course :) It's a nice staff, have been using it all night and I like it. Kind of heavy, but I've been keeping all my other stuff light so I'm just under weight.
they make another good weapon i would like to put on my monk and then the pump the weight up to 8 stones..... why? There are so many good 1hs out there that most melee classes use 1hs<not all but most> and then the come out with a 1hb like this that isnt totally uber in anyones hands but a monk...at most the weight should be 3.. oh well just my 2cp and my little rant....
