For all you bards out there that want to get one of these easier than pie...All you need is runspeed 3, simply swarm kite all the bandits, there is a nice wide open area in the middle of alll three camps, just make sure you aren't too close to the mushrooms. I got one of these in about an hour,a nd 3 or so full camp spawns. How many other classes can say that? ; )
We camped these guys for an hour with a 61 Shaman, 60 Necromance, 53 Druid, 53 Mage, 53 Wiz and my almost 50 Paladin. They were tough for the Necro to single pull, so an enchanter, or a monk who can really pull is advisable.
Only one ring dropped and yours truly won the roll. This is a great ring for any casting tank, even though the effect is useless to us. It is similiar to those crafted AC6 with 65 HP (Velium Fire Wedding Ring, http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=4243) everyone wears, but with resists and a mana bonus.

I'm torn between putting this on my wizzie or my BST. Prolly my BST, at least for now.
Oh, and when we started to camp those guys, one of our party said "my 65 warrior friend couldn't single pull them, so we might be in trouble". Bah! I'm a 53 Monk and they were fairly easy to single pull, only had one train that killed me, and that was because FD failed. Prolly a high level Chanter or Bard can do it, but nothing is more reliable than a single pulling monk, imo.
Just bought this ring for 1k in the bazaar today, figured it was a good price since I saw it sell for 2-4k before the bazaar became active for trading. Was going to twink it to one of my lower level caster alts but let me get the effect straight, it only works for casters who can summon pets, and highlevel pets to? And oh yeah, woot! my 100th post :)
Just to highlight the cross server differences in bazaar prices... These things are waaay overpriced on Veeshan. People started selling these for 6K when they had the EEIII focus. Then everyone forgot to lower prices when they changed the focus. I wish they would do 2 things with the bazaar. The first is allow people to place a bid for items (they would have to put the money in there and then) so that we can get an idea what the floor prices for these items should be. The second is allow people to deposit items with a consignment seller who will sell your goods for you and give you cash when you get back. That way items will sell even if you are offline.
....of the Shadel Bandits (located on the left zone after zoning in from FG town. We camped both the upper and lower Shadel Camps for 6 hours and netted a total of 6 of these rings. Not a bad ring and the xp was also good for that timeframe. Our group consisted mainly of a 58 Monk, 56 Ranger, 52 Druid, 53 Cleric, 55 Cleric and a few in and out floaters - 56 Shammy, 60 Shammy, 56 Pally. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to when they drop...so happy hunting !!!

Oh I could tell ya, but then I would have to kill ya....
after the emergency patch my Shadel Bandit ring now has summoning haste 2, what a joke a focus benefit thats of zero benefit to any character high enough to get this ring. with extended enhancement 3 it fit the difficulty and lvl of the characters who were able to get it. I hope this was a mistake and will be fixed.
I have one of these, and as a shaman, extended enhancement III is worth more than an incremental 1-2K. I would guess that this item will start selling for closer to 6-8K.
I think you will find these going for less then 1k on most servers. With FG AE going pretty much non-stop and between 1-2 dropping with each pull of the bandits. So your market will get saturated very quickly.
We broke the camp and pulled as they respawned, killing bugs while we waited, there for maybe 2 - 3 hours and did'nt get any rings during that time, mmm maybe they have nerfed the drop rate.( good exp though.
You really think the price of this ring is 3k or more? Good grief, I don't think so, although it is a very nice piece. getting the spawn broken on the four on the hill was not easy. They hit hard and we had two clerics. Maybe they are worth that much.
AN item is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. For quite some people who have been playing EQ since it came out 3k is change and they will be more than willing to pay that for it in order to not have to do the boring camp.
Granted, I got mine for 1500pp, but that is not to say that I wouldn't have paid 3k if asked for it.
Hell, even I'd get rid of one of my 6ac 65hp rigns for one of these. I'm a warrior so even though I have no use for the 55 mana, it would be between 10svd and 5svc or a loss of 10hp. I'd prefer to resists over 10hp =)

200 isn't a cap any more, but the mana gain from 201 to 255 is 6 mana per point at level 60. That makes this the equivalent of a 9 WIS ring, plus the AC and resists.
Actually the mana per wis/int point at level 60 is twelve, not six. That would make this ring equivalent to around a four to five wis/int ring. Of course, with Kodiac's running I come very close to the 255 cap in wisdom as a cleric, and will be able to break that when I switch out my Paw of Opalla with the epic, making this a nice ring for the extra mana, plus the HPs, AC, and saves are much better than your standard jasper ring (Jasper rings having no AC, HPs or saves).
Edit : There I go leaving with out explaining stuff again /em smacks himself. The equation for mana for a caster is as follows (note: substitute either your wisdom or intelligence in depending on what kind of caster you are) : [(wis or int)/5] + 2 and then multiply that number by your level. For example a level 60 cleric with 250 wisdom would have (250/5) + 2 = 52 then * 60 is 3120 mana. Add on any + mana bonuses and you will have your total mana pool. Plus I would like to add that if you are looking solely for resists and extra mana, I would suggest looking for diamond and, even better, blue diamond gear. I wear Velium Diamond Wedding Bands for raid situations, but I'm not sure if there are Blue Diamond Rings that would be better (my jewelcrafting skill is at one, it would be best to ask a jeweler than myself). Hope that helps.
The first person who posted here is right. After you pass 200 wisdom, each point of wisdom gives you half as much mana as the points pre-200, so at 60 you receive 6 mana for every one wisdom.
Alot of 50+ Paladin's on my server wear the 6ac/65 hp rings...I'd trade this out for one of mine as I am sure any other paladin (or anyone for that matter) would.

these rings seems to drop at a common rate. the group i was with ended up getting rings for everyone in about 3hrs. we even got an extra ring to give to a groupmates friend that was within the zone. overall, this item will probably get nerfed and will probably become more rare.
They already cut it back, as the drop rate of spells in the same zone was cut back. But calling it a nerf isn't quite fair; that insane drop rate was more of a "welcome to Luclin, hurry out to the new zones and explore" and was deliberately set very high for the first few days (which was rather cruel to some of our foreign friends, who couldn't get the game until a week or more after its U.S. release).

Easily one of the best droppable rings out there for wis/int casters and even hybrids. At the high end game you are looking for AC, mana, resists, and HP (not necessarily in that order). With the upgraded Chardok, Ring of Di'Zok and the quest rings from there were some of the best rings available, now this one blows those out of the water.
Yes it still is.. in some ways. Each point of int/wis after 200 is only worth half as much as it is up to that point. In other words, 200th wis at 50 is worth 10 mana, 201st is worth 5. Or, 5 mana past 200 int/wis is worth one int wis. Or this ring has the equivalent of 11 post 200 int/wis. Quite nice.

With a very unballenced group (all guildies along for spells) we had Monk (me) 3 rangers 2 druids all 55+. We were scooping up spells for us and the rest of out guild (Arbiters) and decided to roam around to various baddies In fungus Grove. We were able to clear the 2 bandit camps near the entrance in about the respawns. (10 bandits) with that we were seening one drop about evey hour... I was the only one who didn't walk away with one
given that all of this stuff is less than a week old, very little is known about the acctual drop rate-thus the default common setting is used.after a period of time the rarity listing for these items will become more accurate.
We had 3 of these drop in a period of about 45 minutes. No joke. It was great for my group, cause we all wanted one, but to make something that is basically better than 95% of the old/kunark/velious rings and drops as often as a orc pawn pick is kinda retarded. But hey, if there is one thing Verant is known for, it's being retarded. ;)
Drop rates need to be measured over long peroids of time, not "I got realy lucky with the respawns". When I got my Burning Ember from the Firebrand in EW (he's a rare spawn with a place holder on a 13 min timer) he spawned 5 times in a row, dropping his common drop twice (gaunts of the black), and his rare drop twice (the above mentioned BE). As me and my hunting partner had both looted the LORE items we didn't kill Firebrand after the next spawn. And if anyone here has camped Firebrand before, ya know that this kind of thing just dosen't happen.
It's Firbrand (no e), and Dark Ember (not burning). And you are correct, he is rare. I camped him with some guildies for 4 hours, and didn't get a single firbrand, just blacksmiths.
But the point is valid, with rare spawns, there is always the chance that the RNG will make something rare appear to be common, at least over the short term.
However, in this case, I think it was just a matter of high drop rates for the first few weeks after Luclin came out, then a widespread drop rate nerf.
Quite right, it is Firbrand, and the blacksmith is his Ph. we had Firbrand pop like 5 times one afternoon while camping/depopulating the rygorr fort. Never did get the Dark Ember, and got enough sets of the gaunts that everyone who wanted got them for mains and alts. We walked away from that day with each having about 6 OFE's and the necklace, and we had 5 BP's, and various other gear spread out through the party. All in all, a nice afternoon.
