This belt dropped last night on Stromm from one of the Xin Thal Centiens in the ruins east of the DSP zoneline.
/ran 0 100 and it went to a friggen berserker who really really needs that 15 wis hehe, had a good laugh on that one.
Guild group anyway so no one cared about who it's best for or if there's way better in the game blah blah etc.
Nice drop, nice roll, gratz bud on the nice AC and str.
We also got a Stone Idol, Shaded Blade and 2 Vah Shir Claw Earrings over the past 2 days.
Group was 65 rng, 57 pal, 53 ber, 53 clr and 56 bard and had little problem handling 2 Centiens at once. The centiens can nuke for over 600 and depending on the class, can complete heal themselves.

Okay - Just wanna make a point that these are not as rare as you might think. At the time, I boxed my 62 Beast and my 57 chanter. I would sit on the left side of the Vex entrance. I would just single pull. I parked all my alts (none of which are lower than lvl 32 and in one week I got the following:

7 Axgoreth's Belt of Defenses
4 Grodan's Idols
2 Transient Arms
2 Shaded Shields
3 Shrouded Medallions
3 Medallion of the Magi'kot - which rotted
1 Centi Warspear
3 Vah Shir Claw Earrings
4 Stone Idols
1 Centi shortsword
1 Centi Warhammer
1 Shaded Dagger
3 Spell: Mental Corruptions
some other spells drops and a bunch of other stuff...

1 Slighted Pauldrons - Thanks to a group that was there and didn't have a need for it.

So last night, i'm gettin sick of PoP LFG, so I decide to go work on my epic for a lil bit.

I ran across ME no problems and set up camp at the zoneline to UP. Started pulling Xi's and Xin's and wouldn't you know it the FIRST Xin Thall Centien I kill drops this wicked belt. Well, I made the judgement call to replace my Spiked Seahorse Hide Belt with this one, and trade the belt for a CoCW. I suffered a 40hp loss, and like a 2atk loss, and some SV losses, but I gained about 40 mana from this trade-off, and have 230wis now with KEI and I gained 2% haste and a little bit more dex. Overall I think its a good exchange til I get my epic, at which time I'll likely sell the CoCW and buy a Hierophant's cloak.

First kill though, that was sweet.

As a 62 bard, i was killing these for the sake of boredom in the zone. Killed around a dozen, only earring dropped once. With resist song up, resisted around 90% of spells. Any adds were charmed to take the nukes, depleting the casters of their mana for no CH. Just a kinda fun place to hang out for awhile, its quiet there on Kane Bayle.

Guild Raid
# May 19 2003 at 12:20 PM Rating: Decent
Breakdown of guild raid this last weekend. Had 2 full groups ranging in level from 46 to 62. Straight in from DSP through the entrance to outpost then a hard left along the wall to the corner camp. Had a SK FD pulling. We got three of these belts, a Vah Shir Earring and a neck item I can't think of the name of for the life of me. Also got quite a few needed spell drops for the group. Overall was there a little less than three hours, very much successful.

Just a quick paste from a small lower-level raid summary -
Quote:

Raid Summary

Awesome job guys. We farmed a ton of items from Maiden's.

I counted (7) Belts of Axegoreth, (1) Belt of Defiance, (3) Shrouded Medallions, (2) Stone Idols, (1) Shaded Sword, and a bunch of spells in less than 3 hours!

EDIT: Also had 2 or 3 of these: Forhal's Gauntlets! We moved in straight thru to the ruins, and made a hard left at the entrance, pitched tents in the corner camp. Had a couple people that got waylaid and sunk, but in ten minutes all had rez's and were ready to go.

Jyaxor pulled 2's and 3's at a time, 4-arms and Xi's, and they went down fast. Lots and lots of drops.

That camp across from DSP and to the left (once you get inside, up on the outer zone-wall) is the key.

Happy Farming! Glad to see these great items are a bit more common than before. Cmon SoE, up the Centi LS drops once again! :)

Just thought I'd concur, picked up 2 of these in one night, along with 3 spells (to many other drops to list) went to a beastlord first, monk second. We were camping the ruins, pulling from the "horn" and all the surrounding 4-armed we could get steady for about 3 hours in ME. Good luck picking one up!

Got both the Stone Idol and this belt to drop off of a Xin Thall Centien at the Akheva Ruins zone. Me and the necro I was with both nearly wet ourselves. Necro had an idol, so I looted it. Belt went to someone the necro knew since neither of us could use it. Rarest of rare drops to get both on one mob.

I've seen this belt drop 3 or 4 times a night. I've camped the AR zone with little luck. The ruins straight out from the ME/DSP was excellent though. We camped on the wall there and pulled the whole place, I have one in the bank just because I didn't want it to rot.

I stayed in ME for about 2 weeks, and camped 4arms 3 different times in hopes that this elusive belt would drop. The first time we camped at Ahkeva, 2 belts dropped...but they were only half as nice as the Axgoreth Belt, and NO DROP as well. Finally, 3rd time was the charm. One belt dropped on final 4arm pull and I had to roll against a Feline BL...and won the roll! 96 out of /ran 100, the BL got a formidable 67.

Dangerous area with all the trains plowing through constantly, several times half our group got wiped because of the carelessness of someone running their train right through our camp.

This belt also dropped off the first centien kill March 2 2004. I originally looking for gems of the void for my epic. I was grouped with a good friend who was 2-boxing a cleric and a chanter, both 65. The belt dropped of the 4-arm by the UP zone and being the good guy i was i saw 15 wis and told the cleric to loot. Currently a beastlord with 10 less wis and str:(

I went to ME to hunt the 4 armed ladies 6 times for periods of a few hours each before this belt dropped (which it did about a week ago). Mine came from the lady at the entrance to the tunnel to UP. I also hunted the entrance to AR, where a buddy of mine said his group got a couple in a short period of time, but no dice. Both locations have as part of their charm a lot of trains coming through constantly, so you need your head on a swivel while doing this.

I have been hunting there for 2 nights now for a total of about 8 hrs. and haven't seen 1 drop.

I have been hunting at the AR zoneline and occasionally at the UP zoneline. Any help would be appreciated.

Dear Kirath

Scroll down a bit hon to read a little post on how to hunt for this item. To specifically address your question, yes it still drops as of last weekend on a pretty frequent basis. Again, I would urge you to hunt the ME-AkRuins or the ME-UP zone lines on the ME sides, and pull the 4 arms. Please note there have been significant changes to Harmony pulling and the ME-UP zone line is a td more difficult to break nowadays.

Yes dear it is still dropping. Perhaps your best chance at such a drop is to go to the ME side of the AK ruins zone in. There is generally a group located there, as it is generally the easiest place to camp the Battlemaster spawn for those "uber folks" who desire their lucid shard from this zone.

The camp offers a nice diveristy of mobs to pull while waiting for the BM to spawn about every 26 minutes or so (or sadly, more often than not, his place holder the scout). the diveristy is nice because it breaks up the mind numbing monotony of some of the other camps in the zone. There are 5 toilers, 3 4arm chaps, a couple of the robes (Xi Vius cleric or SK version), the 2 goroanga scouts and various trash that the average level 60 group will pull to pass the time and get some AA while working this camp.

This particular item tends to drop off the higher, level 57 version, of the 4 -arm chaps. Due to the diverity of groupings these days there is no perfect group for pulling these mobs at this camp -- Have seen 4 rangers druid and a chanter do it, or a standard MA Cleric slow and others. Most of the groups at this camp tend to have items that are superior than this belt, and would happily annouce it to the zone, except that the potential for people to train this camp is very high -- be it a quad gone bad or the local guild raiding Va'Dyn or IV et al .. They do not want to increase the chance for trainage, so they would rather let the item rot than to have 4 "noobs" training their camp in a mad dash to loot item X. Lost time at camp dealing with unexpected adds is lost exp.

So the aspiring young ranger (using myself at level 53 so many months ago ... )can go to this spot and ask to assist. Forage food for the fat ogre, heal the chanter, snare running mobs if they lack a snare class., etc. Ask the group ahead of time if said item were to drop, mioght you have the opportunity to loot it as it is an improvement over your (insert FBSS, Spiderfur, Strawspun belt etc ...) If they have an opening in the group, they may, for whatever reason., ask you to join. Be polite, Smile, and help as much as you can. Most people can remember back when they were 53 and recognize what a wonderful item that this is for you.

This belt is great for Paladins, Rangers and Beastlords, I can imagine. It's also very good for Rogues, IMO, if you're lacking AC and STR...

I've been trying to camp these 4-legged freaks for 3 days now with a 60 Druid, a 60 Paladin, and myself (57 Rogue). We have had no luck what-so-ever. Sometimes they drop nothing at all, which amazes me, since they con even at 57.

We set up camp right at the UP zone, and kill the 4-legged freak that spawns at the end of the hallway. Maybe we're not killing the right spawn that's known to drop this Belt?

I heard there is another camp in ME, besides the UP zone, and maybe that's where they drop the Belt? Any information would be great.

As stated before, the corpse Should have a 28 minute decay time (for all mobs 55 +) I was in Dawnshroud killing rockhoppers when a guild group got one and called me to come over and loot it. Easily the best belt in game for Beastlord (exagerating maybe, dont flame me hehe). I will proudly wear mine =) stayed around to help kill more of the 4 armed people. It dropped right at akheva zone line, from the one 4 arm mob that spawns there. From what I hear it is pretty common. And with the new exp rules (higher mobs = lots more exp) there will be a lot more people killing them. I have seen the belt being shouted to zone that it was rotting. If you want the belt, just go hunt in ME, im sure you will get one eventually.

Ya know, this belt drops commonly. Instead of wasting your time whining back and forth about who should get it, go and camp it. Every person in my guild that can use this and wants this belt, has it. hell, even some of our alts have it. and we don't spend a lot of time in maiden's eye.......

if a guild group, you will get one eventually.

if a pickup group, you're most likely rolling anyway...

Was camping the Toilers for charcoal with my 51 bard and I had my 36 warrior camped in zone for the Spiked club. She'd been there for a while and was just too lazy to move her out even after I got the club. Someone shouted this belt dropped, I ran over with Inviz and bard Selo's up and checked it out. I was VERY VERY tempted to loot it but decided to log off and let my warrior have it. snagged it and I'm now very happy.

For those of you complaining about Twinking this for someones alts, look, if your level 51+ in ANY class, you deserve the RIGHT to give your lower level alts nice stuff. Yeah you may not like it but if you've spent THAT much time in EQ to be that high, so what if you get to help yourself out.

What? Hey if you wanna take the easy way out, go ahead, but don't come here and try to justify it by saying you have at least one lvl 51+.

Who cares? Verant obviously doesn't care if you do it, it's not 'illegal'. You either twink or you don't, it's a choice, not a 'RIGHT'. No justification needed.

Arrived in Nexus with 6 mins to go and was sure i'd never make it.........through Netherbian, Dawnshroud, into ME.........and picked up the belt 7 secs to spare before it poofed. It was a change made not long after the kunark release. I don't remember if its level 55+ or 56+, but all mobs that level or higher the corpse will last 30 minutes before poofing, assuming there is something on it. The reason was that on high end encounters, sometimes it would be nearly impossible to impossible for the people to get back in time to loot the item before it vanished (cleric died so rez impossible, corpse stuck in wall/floor and need a summon, etc.)

I dont know if their story is true, but your ignorance sure is. Some of the mobs in ME and UP have 30 minute timers on their corpses. They are unnamed and it is not always the ones that drop good loot, I saw one that only had some research component and vendor trash.

And its people like YOU who are so worried about what others are doing , and not what you are doing
that called for druids and necros to be nerfed early in the game "(insert winey voice here) Because they are too powerfull and its not fair .. waaahahahaha"

Now when we group with them we as a group have less capabilities than before.

When I have a warrior tanking foor me to keep me alive I want him to have the best gear possible.

I finally got this belt thanks to Obetwo and Leyian after 3 weeks of camping it. The mob that drops it is not 52 but 57 and has a HT of 911. A 52 war can be main tank for him but you need at least a 57 caster to root him so you can get wailed on. Pretty sweet belt and it was alot harder to get then i thought it would be.

LOADING. PLEASE WAIT...

I'm a 55 War on TP, got this tonight in Guild group near Ak zone. Though it's a better item (AC/str, no haste sucks but I can get Wondrous Rapidity anytime) than my Belt of Contention, I sent a tell to our Guild Pallies to see if any could get to ME before it rotted. Only took belt once no one could make it in time. Pally item all the way, prolly ranger too, but Pally first. Warrior item if neither of those available/need. AC and str are king IMO.

Paladin belt huh? Are you nuts? This belt has some of the better AC in the game. Screw a haste belt, thats what Silver Chitin Handwraps and a Cloak of Flames are for! LOL. im a 53 warrior of Dwarven race. My Base strength unbuffed with all my gear is 198...Thats nice for a Dwarf, mind you. I dont have the best gear, but by gods i have some gear that most level 53 warriors wouldnt see till level 58. Once more, I give my Input.

Obviously you have never played a paladin or ranger. Im a level 54 paladin, and I would love to get one of these belts, so far they have givin this to a monk 2 times now.If you have ever played a paladin, wisdom and strength are your main problems. I have good gear but im still at 166str unbuffed, 114wis. this would bost me a great deal. If you let anyone have dibs on this, let the paladins, rangers, and beastlords get the priority, thats a hell of a lot of wisdom to waste.

Screw that, just because an item has some wis on it doesn't mean that only wis users should get it or get priority on it.
If a 100ac 20 int belt drops thats int casters and pallies, would you be happy if they gave int casters the priority on it over a tank because of the 20 int or would you be mad as #$&& because you could use the AC more than they? Think of it like that.

Well, Im no pally but I guarantee that if there was a 100ac belt with 20int, it would go to casters most of the time. Who would benefit from it more, someone who doesnt need int at all and has pretty decent ac or someone whose main stat is int and has sh*t for AC?

I'm not a pally, but I'm a paladin, and I say, yah, 100 AC belt 20 INT, goes to the casters. 20 INT on a belt is just amazing.

This belt...up in the air, should go to the person who isn't wearing a haste belt though. Pissed me off the other day when the monk wearing a Fbss got there and looted it before me. He's not gonna even wear the damn thing...

Actually IMO any monk of a high enough level to wear this belt is not going to waste a slot on a crap item like FBSS. There are better slots for a monk to place haste such as the back with a Cloak of Flames if the money is there. I think between epic haste and a CoF haste that with a chanty there is no need for FBSS. I myself wear Axgeroth's Belt of Defense and with the monk AC bonus it gives about 32 AC to me which is VERY nice. But hey, its just MY opinion.

As far as the 100AC 20INT belt goes....

Guild group-Goes to Main tank EVERY TIME. Your main tank with that belt will benefit your guild raids MUCH more than having one caster having a little extra mana and being able to take one extra hit for 250+ from an "uber" mob because he nuked before the call.

Pickup group-All roll on it.

I got this belt with my ranger. 60 Guilde Druid soloing in front of the Umembral zone got this in a drop so i logged in my 47 ranger and ran from dawnshroud to Umembral and just got there intime to loot it. I had to take off an FBSS and loose haste but i think the stats on the belt are worth giving up the haste for now )

Good luck to all~!

I would suggest you reconsider. 20+ % haste is far more important than the stats on this belt. Try trading in your FBSS and some pp for a pair of silver chitin handwraps and then you will have haste + this nice belt.

I would say keep the belt in your inventory and use the haste for now. Once you obtain your epic and have a maxed 40 percent haste, then use this belt. Get CC gaunts, boots and arms and keep the FBSS or upgrade to Sash of the Dragonborn, until you obtain your epic. That should give you the boost in AC you want and still keep the Haste you need.

Just remember to let the Tanks be tanks and you be a ranger. High damage and lite tanking is our job.

#Aeslina, Posted: Feb 02 2002 at 7:44 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Let me reach my 1100ac 'soft cap' and you can have any freaking piece of ac armor that drops. My guild is currently working on getting suited up for ToV and guess what... the warriors are the only people getting any gear. all raids in kael are in the manor where only the plate drops (not that i can use any of the chain other than the bp anyway) but being that all my resists AND ac is sucking whereas our weakest warrior is complaining that that his 1300ac is too low. Look buster, i have only reached 1003ac fully cleric/shaman buffed and sometimes no matter how much i jolt/cinder jolt/stop attacking/run i still die. this belt alone would give me around 30-35 additional ac that i desperately need whereas that warrior with 1300ac who wants this is still not going to get hit any less hard. I have no problems with warriors being equipt, but you all also need to think of those who are less fortunate and who want to live and can't wear a freaking 100ac breastplate!

In defense of warrior types I have to say that we don't have it as easy as all that. I like to roleplay so I made a Wood Elf Warrior. I love my character but man oh man is he hard to play. Every little bit helps. I keep trying to find armor that is attainable without a huge group or a guild raid but there just isn't any without a large cash horde.

I feel for all classes, Warriors included. It's tough to find decent armor but if the high AC item has to go to someone.....sorry but the Warriors have to come first. That said, everyone should get a taste of the loot when all is said and done.

Umm...because it's a melee item?

Imagine if some staple high wisdom item got bumped up to be really killer AC. Would you want it to go to a melee? It has 15wisdom on it, because they can give 15wisdom to a melee without unbalancing things.

Go post "why can't melees use this" on the stone idol and I won't call you a whiner.

Probably because if they could use it, when the melees wanted to roll on this belt they would start the whinning and "WHAAA! I'm leaving unless I get this!" routine.

As to why any melee would want this belt - same str as a TBB, 2.5 times more AC, 15 wis for the hybirds mana pool and trade skills, and best of all its free and you don't need a full-blown 55+ planes raid to get one for a change. 'Bout dang time.

Well, rangers, paladins and beastlords have mana based on Wisdom.
Plus wisdom helps everyone for trade skill.
So the +15 wis is not useless.

Actually, wisdom only helps people learn trade skills if their wisdom is higher than their intelligence. So for intelligence-based casters or a bard like me who has a higher intelligence than wisdom, wisdom is meaningless for skill advancement.

In a pickup group any class that can use any item is fair game to get the item. It's ridiculous to argue what class can use an item best. ANY class can use AC.

I'd love to see these whines stop. But I won't.

NBG does not apply with people you may never group again with.

And lets face it this is a GAME there IS no 'need' it is all 'greed'. No one 'needs' pixels. Get over it. If everyone is a group contributes to a kill anyone that can equip an item has legitimate claim to roll for it.

Period.

I just lost the roll on this belt to a Warrior. Now, I realize that a Warrior can use the STR and the AC, but the WIS is aboslutely worthless. My feeling is that if you have a Paladin in the group, this is almost certainly a Ranger/paladin/Beastlord item. Am I ranting because I lost the roll (for the 8th time I might add on this item,) yes. But Warriors should defer taking this item to the classes that can really use the stats- ALL the stats. After all, this is nodrop- there are other better items for Warriors and it'll be destroyed by them once a higher AC is found. But a Paladin or similar hybrid might sport this great belt for the life of the character. I'm curious to see what you all think about that.

I agree with you. Only prob is, as long as WAR is one of the classes that can use, and as long as a WAR was in the group fighting for it, good luck getting the WAR to see your reasoning. If there's not a better WAR belt out there somewhere, I'll eat my car. Frost, that's not a PAL crying, that's someone realizing that the WARs will cry when this very simple logical argument is presented to them. Good luck to the hybrids on this one!

Better get out the motor oil, it'll make eating your car a little easier. This is perhaps the best belt item a warrior can get outside of a guild raid, and even then the chances of getting something better are slim. If I were a hybrid I would just be happy as hell that this item is so easy to get. I've heard of at least 2 of these rotting in the zone after groups had shouted out for someone to come loot it.
Great item for all who can use. I've got it, I'm using it, I like it, I doubt I'll find anything to replace it for a long, long time.

In that case, you should try to see which class would get the most from this Belt.

Warriors need AC and the Strength. And don't tell me they need Wis for tradeskills. Tradeskills aren't on the raids.

Paladins, Beastlords and Rangers need the AC, the Strength AND the Wis.

Hope you get it. I understand it is a great Warrior belt and the easiest one to obtain at these levels BUT the Paladins, Rangers and Beastlords would get the most from it.
