I've had these forever and looked kinda goofy running around barefooted for so long...As of 8/6/03 patch, they have a graphic now.

These are magic...

These things have been changed to magic now. Still lore and no drop of course. Pretty common drop with the vamps.
POS
# Mar 31 2003 at 9:56 AM Rating: Decent
These do not have a magic on them, for any class that kicks, you are unable to do any damage to any mob thru kick. Sucks, give em to a non kicking class.
#REDACTED, Posted: Mar 31 2003 at 6:35 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) So why would it be a POS for a class that doesn't kick (whihc is pretty much the majority). Dumbass. Peace.
Common drop
# Feb 06 2003 at 11:58 AM Rating: Decent
These are a fairly common drop, have seen 4 pairs drop in approx 2 hours. They can be single pulled at 51, maybe earlier, but are very tough to solo without a slower/ability to aggro kite (pet).

I hit this place recently at L52 with a 56 Magician, I would pull with slow (Shackle of Spirit) and her pet would tank them nicely. We did this for a few hours and got several pairs of boots, a belt (from a different mob) and the rare Idol.

Just watch out for the trains between AR and DSP!

I had these drop last night 22 Jan 03 at the coterie house along the right side of the ZL. We were there about 40 minutes and they dropped. I w as lucky enough to be in a group that no one else needed them and got them by default. Nice item

The vamps in ME drop SHROUDED boots. These SHROUDED boots are ready to be worn, and are No-Drop. I have never seen any other type of SHROUDED armor drop off the vamps, or anywhere else on Luclin.

The shades in ME (and Akheva) drop various SHADED armor pieces, including SHADED boots. SHADED armor pieces need to be crafted into usable armor.

Have a nice day.

Can these be soloed ?
# Sep 12 2002 at 12:04 PM Rating: Decent
Hi all,
I am curious if you think a 55 cleric would be able to single pull the vamps to a safe spot and solo them?

If not, you suppose a 50 Pally could with c3?? maybe a 49 druid ??

The idol sounds sweet and the ac 12 +4 to all stats boots sound like the bomb!

I have all 3 characters camped close and ready to try...just deathly afraid of DEATH!!

Thanks,
Mccash, Thoraank, Iwena

I'm not sure if you can do it at 55, but I was able to single pull vamps at 56 with ease. I used the Pally lull spell just in case, and got singles every time.

Now, it remains to be seen if you can successfully solo them at 55. These guys lifetap A LOT. Fear and root never seem to hold for very long (if you can get it to stick at all). I witnessed a pre-PoP level 60 pally completely pown the Coteries, but he was one of those r33t ubAr types, with a ton of AA points and Slay Undead maxed (/sigh, Slay Undead was so awesome, I started to sport wood).

A pally-cleric duo was very effective versus the coterie. Especially if the cleric jumped in using those sweet summoned hammers.

McStadler, I doubt it.
We were there last night, and pulled a few of these (singly). 54 warrior, 49 beastlord, 54 cleric, 49 cleric, 56 enchanter...

We used up the 54 clerics' mana on CH's on the warrior, and had to start using the 49 cleric for CH. They hit hard (double 150 + flurries) and they have a crapload of HPs...with the warrior, beastlord and bst warder all pounding on it, a legionairre still took a good 5 minutes and the centurion was even longer.

So in summary? I wouldn't try it :)
IMHO

IMHO these would be NICE for a cleric or druid or any caster that does not have the money or auction skills to perchase gebs or better
RE: IMHO
# Sep 26 2002 at 4:48 PM Rating: Decent
As an enchanter I decided to sell my Gebs after I got a hold of these. A. Really nice AC. B. Charisma and Int in fair amounts of both. and C. various other stats that help to a much less extent but are nice to have. For me now at 55 it mainly comes down to the AC, getting hit a lot is pretty annoying, and a bit of AC mitigates that. With my cha maxxed and int at 210 I think I will be hanging onto these over GEBS.
Awesome for free!

Shaded Boots
# May 02 2002 at 4:44 AM Rating: Decent
While killing in ME, my group got some Shaded Boots to drop off a Xin if I remember correctly. They are 5ac and can't be equipped. They are lore, of course. No one else wanted them, so I stuck them into inventory. Anyone know if these are for a certain quest? Also, has anyone seen a pair before? Thanks.

Just an FYI
# Apr 10 2002 at 10:26 AM Rating: Decent
These Boots are NOT magic so don't bother trying to kick with them if your Char kick's (Ranger Warrior)
RE: Just an FYI
# Nov 06 2002 at 1:23 AM Rating: Decent
warriors can bash too, and it's a lot better than kicking, especially since they improved bash. Just set up a free inventory slot and your secondary slot as MACROS, then switch in your shield, bash, and switch weapon back in. Interrupts casters and has a chance to stun...also caps higher which gives a better chance of landing.

-just something to think about-
RE: Just an FYI
# Mar 31 2003 at 9:53 AM Rating: Default
If you were a large race to being with, you dont need bash and switch out sheild. Large races have Slam which is same as bash.

After level 55, bash/kick/slam has a change to not only interupt spell casting, but can also stun a mob for a second or 2. At least for warriors it does. Ie me = 65 war
RE: Just an FYI

Seems odd that something can have an increase to so many stats but NOT be magic. Is this possible or just an oversight in the boots description?

I've done a few /feedbacks to have these changed to "MAGIC". I know I'm but one voice, but it can't hurt. =)

# Apr 05 2002 at 2:07 AM Rating: Decent
I am usually in Maidens Eye, I started at level 49, and haven't left yet, I am not 54, the only mobs I have seen these drop off of are the coterie's....real common drop, have seen many many rot...as many as 10-20 a day

This is a Halfling Item!

As a Halfling I take pride in my foothair, and find it disgraceful to think about hiding it in a pair of constricting shoes. These Shrouded Boots are just the ticket!

Have fun all =)

Not bad for a druid?
# Jan 21 2002 at 12:26 PM Rating: Decent
I was lucky enough to get a pair of these for my druid last night when the other 2 guys in my group declined rolling for them. When I swap them with my Golden Effreti Boots my wis goes from 205 to 200. I know the each wis point over 200 matters more, but I'm thinking I'll wear the gebs when I'm soloing, need mana most, and am least likely to get hit. But while grouped I'll gladly sacrifice 5 wis for the leap in AC and boost to EVERY stat. The only downside is swapping the nice golden boot graphic for no graphic at all. SOmeone said these look good on rangers, but on woodelf druids they don't look like anything. Any other druids wearing these? With nice AC and every stat boosted I could see these boots appealing to most classes...

Well the are shrouded, so maybe the shroud is covering the graphic? ;-)
Huh?
# Jan 07 2002 at 11:29 AM Rating: Decent
Got these boots yesterday for my High Elf cleric and the graphics are...nothing. When equipped, it looks as if I am "barefoot" wearing my stupid blue slippers that I was "born" with. What's up with the graphics bug here?

Sorry, but they look terrible, despite having nice stats.

I have to agree with Calthina. I'm a HIE magician and wearing Blood Weave Pantaloons (transparent graphic). So, in addition to looking like I'm wearing nothing on my feet, my entire lower legs are bare. Gack! Capris pants & ballet slippers under a sheer skirt. It's just not a good look.

It's not a bug though, these boots just have no graphic associated with them.
Lovely shoes :)

Aloha and well met.

There are still many wonderful people out there who, if they slay this beast and they have better, will kindly do an /ooc to the zone. thanks to a wonderful group hunting the campire camp, I was allowed to loot such a set of boots.

On a female Half-Elf ranger, the graphic is a brown leather with a soft pink diamonds in the front. Matches well with the Kromiff military Leggings (stockings for HE Rangers) and has replaced my rabbit fur shoes.
Drops

Seems to be an uncommon drop off coterie leggos. We had 2 drop off the first two leggos we killed, but none for the next 4 hours. Common drop seems to be a really crappy sword. Respawn time is 12min, most of them were blue to a 54, but had a few that conned white or yellow. They do flurry, but were easy to single pull, and not hard for a group of 4 54+. We were pulling from one of the gothic looking buildings, where the coteries spawn, both in front and inside building.

Thanks!

Some groups will just leave these on corpses. They either already have tham or have better. If you can find a grp killing Coterie just ask them if they would mind you looting once everyone has theirs.
