Drop must be nerfed.

I am a smith, and work with acrylia, so I farm grimling caves in TM extensively. There is additional bonus of snagging a runner(Rallic Pack).
Foremans are not overly common, usually get 1/2 in about four cave clearings, and had one of these drop only once.
Which is a better weapon?

I have two Polished Steel Ulaks (Dmg 9, Dly 27. +3 Strength +3 Wisdom +3 Resist Magic +25 Hit Points +25 Mana +1.10 Weight) and one Master's Eithatka. Which should I use in my secondary slot and which should I sell?

I've always been told to have the better delay weapon in your main hand and better damage in your offhand, so have the master djklsasd in your main and ulak in off. Hope that helps =)

It probably WOULD help, if it's possible... Master's is offhand only. I would suggest Eitchatka, because it is faster and maybe ye' can hit with off hand more, and the damage bonus on it is quite high

What you suggested is sensible, but for a couple facts:

1. Damage Bonus is totally dependant on the users skill and level in regards to one handed weapons. Weapon delay is factored in for 2-Handers. Think of it like this...The weapon itself doesn't have a bonus. It's the person using it that gets a bonus from weilding a weapon like it.

2. Damage Bonus only applies to Main Hand.

Regardless, the ME has a better ratio and thus will make aa bit more DPS than the PSU, so I'd go with the ME anyway. I mean hell, better ratio overall PLUS it's faster.

The whole idea of fastest weapon in the mainhand and highest damage in offhand is really an oversimplification. Yes, you want as fast a weapon as possible in the mainhand to take advantage of your damage bonus, but you still have to consider the raw ratio of the weapons and judge if you'd get more dps from the faster weapon. Faster really is better the higher your level, but not usually at the expense of raw damage potential. You just have to cruch the numbers and see for yourself what works best. If they are close, go fastest, if not, I'd go with the best ratio ratio.

For offhand, it's the ratio, and not so much the damage that is important. 7/20(2.85r) is just a lil better than 9/27(3.0r). And I feel that faster is better anyway, since you have more opportunities for the DW check, and thus more swings made. So say 8/24 would be better than 9/27, even though you have the same ratio. Against most mobs that would be true, but if it's a mob you would be hitting for a lot of min dmg shots on, then speed is obviously > everything else.

But then you have to think about haste. The higher the delay, the more the haste can affect you. A higher damage/high delay weapon can benefit much more from haste than a low damage/low delay weapon. At max haste, the PSU would actually be a bit better ratio-wise. And if a weapon's delay is 20 or under, then the base damage is all that matters for haste cap and minimum delay reasons.

Everything is so situtional that there are no easy answers. Add stats into the picture and you can get really confused very quickly. I hope I haven't just confused anyone more for reading this. If so always remember, when in doubt, just use the weapon that looks the coolest ;p

PS, I know that since the ME is offhand only, most of this info is pointless. I agree, but hopefully someone will learn something from all of this rambling.
solid weapon
# Mar 26 2002 at 7:55 PM Rating: Excellent
This is a solid H2H weapon for a BL even though it is secondary only. It is very fast and I've used it to keep my h2h skill up near max.
Getting it is doable by a pet class around 39th solo, group around 30-34, or anyone else 45+ solo. I would recommend only killing the first 4 or 5 spawns into the cave and then making sure no foreman's spawned further in. (Kill them if they have) This will guarantee that when they spawn they are closer to the cave entrance and easier to manage when they run. You can have 2 foremans up at the same time but haven't seen more then that.
BTW: you can single pull these guys around 50th but even then they will assist each other if you fight right next to another. (The elf npc at the cave entrance will not assist any of them)
Another good example

Nice Item and reasonable risk vs reward. I have to say that overall Verran/Sony/The gods seem to be getting the idea...

Decent you are thinking of the high apprentist version I dont remember the stats but is NOT a 7/20 weapon I think it is a 5/31 or the like with some mana and HP bonus

Very important for newbie BL's to get thier H2H skill up asap as this disipline is one that doesn't require much stamina. If you use 1hb weapons you will notice stamina bar decreases rapidly.Keep H2H maxed at every lvl till 17, when you can dual wield, and you will be dishing out lots o damage. Also keep kick maxed out as soon as you get it.My BL kicks in the 20's consistantly at lvl 35. Gatogato lvl 35 Vah Shir BL.
RE:hand to hand
# Mar 19 2002 at 7:06 AM Rating: Decent
H2H weapons can cause stamina bar to drop rapidly if the weapon is heavy so the weapon skill is not the factor. Stamina bar dropping never worries me because I keep my stamina over 100 so even if it bottoms out there is no slow down in weapon delay. The only negative effect from a low stamina bar with stamina over 100 is that you can not jump.

It is very important for Beastlords to keep all their weapon skills up. Never know what weapon you may run into.

Even when your Sta is over 100 the sta bar DOES affect how many times and how fast you hit. I have a lvl 41 warrior and intill i received a wurmslayer (about a week ago) i never noticed it.

Note: these are visible as claws on the foreman's offhand when he spawns. I got two in one hour so I'm not sure about them being superrare. All four beastlords in my guild got them within a few days.

Who drops
# Dec 28 2001 at 2:16 PM Rating: Decent
This dropped off of a Grimling Foreman in the caves of Tenorous Mountains. He can spawn anywhere in the cave. I have killed him many times and gotten this item once. Seems to be very rarr. He cons blue to a 40 and hits in the 70's. Has alot of HPs but is kinda weak for his level, like most of the grimlings.
RE: Who drops
# Feb 11 2002 at 1:05 PM Rating: Decent
I second that, I've spend more than 80 game hours in the mines (mining ore) and I only gotten this once. I've killed more than 80 Forman.

Very rare drop
A weapon for my level

I'm trying to find a weapon that is above the Barbarian's newbie quest claw, but one I'm still able to get without having a higher level character twinking me. Any suggestions (Preferrably H2H)

if you notice though these weapons are secondary melee. i have the apprentice and thought the same thing till i right clickd it and read bio on them. i was like wow, this is so cool. a weapon that is made for the secondary hand only. so in reality you can twink you character with them until you get dual wield or you already have it.

i tried to twink this to my beastlord and he couldn't use it... i guess we'll have to wait to see what level you can use this weapon
RE: twinkin
# Dec 11 2001 at 4:29 PM Rating: Decent
the reason your twink could't use it cause you failed to notice its secondary only so you can only use this in your off hand there for unless your twink is level 17 he could't use it :)

Hmmm. I gave a "disciples" Eitchatka that I had looted off a poacher to a noob (level 4, I think) and it said she couldn't use it, so it seems like this class of weapon has a level restriction. Nice solution to twinking without going the no drop route.

I wonder if the level restriction is based on char level or skill level with H2H. For example, the title "Master's Eitchatka" would make sense if it required a skill of 100 or higher in H2H.

not a bad idea about the Master thing, but I think it refers more to how the grimlings in the grimling forest are always going on about their master.

Finally, weapons that improve your hand-to-hand speed/damage.

I knew they could do this... hope they change those "Fist" weapons we saw a little while back for Monks.

Beastlords can't use 1hs, and someone must have *really* wanted to give them some claws they could use (sorta in keeping with the character, I spose), so ergo, Hand To Hand skill.

Aye Bst can't use 1HS. However many Bst weapons have the appearance of claws just like this one. As a matter of fact all the ones that come to my mind are Pitchatkas and Eitchatkas. Leave the posting about Bst weapons to people who do their research and people with questions for people that do their research.
