I 2-box a 54 Cleric/54 Monk combo. I took a hand full of these guys pretty easily. The medal dropped for me on the first pull. The next 4 didn't drop it. It is a very nice item (for free) and I currently wear it on my monk. Just a side note, they do dispell. The first pull dispelled my freshly obtained Virtue (which sucked), so I fought the next 4 with Temp from the cleric.
I keep one of these handy for raids, 12 AC and the 5CR/5FR/15MR are very sweet. You will be hard pressed to find a better neck slot item for free. I use an Ivory Imbued Collar for regular groups as it has slightly more mana, but if Im taking melee shots or fighting casters this necklace goes back on. Definatley worth the effort to get it.

Last night 12/03/02 A 53 Cleric and myself (54 warrior) started a group. 50+ Paladin, Rogue, Ranger, Druid. These hooded freaks seem easier than the Goranga's. I won the roll on this, not much else dropped, a SK spell of a Coterie Leggo. Was a nice upgrade from the Spider Fur collar. The MR rocks!!

hehe it is nice, but really, why wait to get THIS when u could use spider fur collar? cheap as hell ac10 str and saves...now this DOES have more saves and would be a slight upgrade...but id hate to think a warrior actually NEEDED this over say...a ranger for the mana...or pal/sk

actually they would be after it for the resists. even though thre are other items. whats makes this one special is the fact its free. and to have 15mr is very nice upgrade.

One of these dropped on our first Xi Vius pull. Surprisingly i was the only person in our group who needed this, so now im happily wearing one of these. Imho i think this is a great neck item for any of the classes that can wear it.

This is definately one of the nicest neck pieces around, for every class even! I am a warrior, and i ditched my old Glimmering Mithral Torque after picking this up. We have about half of our guild outfitted with these nice necklaces.

Was in a nice Exp group here, pulling to the right of DS Zone. Mainly pulling the Xi Vius, and Xi Xiau *spelling*, Umbral Toilers, Wolfs, Bats etc. In anycase we had two of these drop the whole night; One off of a Xi Xiau *spelling*, the other off of a Xi Vius that conned blue to me at 51. So They can drop off of either, from what I saw. Only other loot was a spell "Jolting Blades" (I was the only Ranger there btw) and 2 Centi SS. All in all I had a great time, even though I was puller for a group of 55+ with 3 60's. I got Harm Touched more times last night <grumble>. Anyway, just letting ya know it dropped for us on both mobs. I'm out.

I was pulling to a group just to the right of ent. was a good drop very easy kill for ballanced group over 50. lost roll but will have another chance. But this is a all roll item for sure

I have never seen these medallions drop off Xi Vius mobs, they seem to always drop off the Xi Xiau mobs. The Xi Xiau's look almost exactly like the Xi Vius's but are higher level (like 54ish compared with 51ish) and seem to be wizards or clerics rather than SKs. My group was able to pull them using harmony from the crypt-like building in the SW corner of the zone.

Killed lot of these two mobs and Xi Xiau only dropped some pages for us. But Xi Vius dropped 2 of this meddalion last night for our group. Both warrior and Sk were very happy. Sigh...my rolling skill is -112 I think...

This item is very commons, and its uber for almost any class melees can use the nice AC and resist and caster nice resist and mana

one of these dropped the other night (was on a need before greed basis) and the group voted for the necro to loot. sucks to. could really use the saves and the str and it'd be a 10 ac upgrade from my current neck. but it has mana so it must be a caster neck =P. ill never understand some people :|
One more reason to make up loot rules BEFORE anything drops. I was lucky only other in my group could use this and I rolled a 362 out of 420.

This is an all/all neck, there's not a melee around who couldn't make good use of this...you need to find a new group to hang out with.

Had the pleasure to earn one of these in my group last night. It dropped off of the cleric version of the Xi Vius, and was the 3rd I had seen in perhaps 300 of these evil creatures (Cleric and SK versions). I would presume the drop rate to be about 1-2% if they are on the same drop table.
It was a wonderful replacement to the Halloween necklace earned just 3 months ago. The saves and the additional mana, albiet small mana, make for a very nice pre-planer item.

Got mine in group the other nite off a Xi Vius on first pull of the nite. Awesome resists and ac and the strength is a bonus. Spider fur collar is in the magic bag now. I have gotten more and better loot in the last week or so in Luclin than I did with my former guild in a year and a half. Just yell for others and form a group, Maiden's will treat ya well.
Crom gave me steel, and with steel I will split your skull!!!!

I would love to have this item. Seems worth the travel of 3 zones, all of which i dont know at all, and might end up getting killed in the process of traversing. Owell. Nice item, much better than my blackened alloy, lol. Im the anti-thesis of uber.

We got this off a Xius Vi. SK mob, very MR, we took it down easy with a group of 5 55+. It was the first hooded thing we killed, so either it's not all that rare or we were really lucky.

drops off of one of the shrouded figures (Xi Vius, etc etc) in Maiden's Eye. The guy that dropped one of these for us was not named or anything.
