To the dude talking in his silly lingo, I'm assuming some kind of dork-*** dwarf, he should remember that in a duel with a necro simply dispatching his "minion" does not equal certain trumph.

He can just shadow step... Dot you... Run...

Hopefully for you his MR is low so you can Stun / Root / Blind

Your best hope for killing a necro is skills or being a wizard
Vamps drop this too

Dirty Tricks...

There was a Necro just acting like a total *** on Saryn when we were camping Coteries, so finally I get fed up and ask if he wants to duel. He was anon, but I was 53 Pally and thought I'd at least be able to give him a run for the money...

Anyway, he showed up (with a pet) and we start the duel, low and behold he had taken a skeletal drudge for his pet! I didn't stand a chance as that thing was whomping on me and he just sat back and cackled. I now have a Nemesis...but talk about clever.

Stories like this always fall heavy on my heart. A holy knight will never lose a battle to a foe that is willing to fight head on. Unfortunately, unholy followers of death and decay are known to select cowardly methods of combat over more conventional means.

Alas, we have been blessed us with the means to overcome such sickening trickery. I will share this with you, my brother, so that your next encounter with this cretin will end as Brell intended.

The first lesson is the knowledge that followers of Bertox are nothing without their summoned minion. When you can eliminate this threat, the battle has been won.

The second lesson is that such encounters with followers of arcane arts requires careful use of your own mana pool in order to be victorious.

Prepare for battle by cloaking your body with every form of resist armor in you inventory. Next, carefully cast your self-buffs and resists such that at least the first two buff slots are free. I recommend that you cast yaulp (to assume the first spell buff position), then cast frenzied strength (to assume the second spot), then in the following order; paladin health regen spell, ac buff, proc buff, haste buff, hp buff, hp/ac buff, then all resists.

In your spell gems, memorize the best 3 stuns in your spellbook. Memorize root, spook the dead, flash of light, healing, and cancel magic.

As the necromancer approaches, initiate your resist-based discipline. Then, neutralize his pet by casting spook the dead, flash of light, or root. At this point, without his pet present, you can simply melee/stun your nemesis to his rightful place within the bowels of the underworld.

Timing is essential here. If you find that neither the necro, nor the pet, are affected by your magics, then simply ignore the pet and beat down on the person. Finger wigglers go down swiftly when a heavy blade is slicing through their robes.

Good fortunes to you, fellow knight.

Ah what fine words from a mere mortal. Though my ony suggestion never to anger the god of plague and suffering. For such foolish things will bring you great misfortunes or death. But if you want to beat a fellow Necromancer one quick tip. RUN AWAY. hahahaha

Hmmmm. Bad advise here pal.

Don't bother wasting the time and mana on trying to fear the Drudge.

The drudge he don't fear.

Dangerous game though duelling with a drudge for a pet. Charm breaks you got the drudge rippin ya a new one and die from that and you will be cryin the blues over the lost xp.

Dangerous indeed. Simply cancel magic on the Drudge and the charm enchantment will depart leaving the Necro fighting two opponents.

Well it is a good plan but don't underestimate how powerful necros can be. Though there was no underhanded fighting in what he described. Do you truely expect a pure caster to try to stand toe to toe with a melee? That's like dueling a rogue and thinking he's NOT gonna try to get around you and put his dagger in your kidneys for 500 points damage. Come on. Let's be real. They say "All's fair in love and war (or dueling in this case)" for a reason.

Drops from A Drudge Skeleton. I'm guessing the mob is about level 50-53, immune to fear and has ~6 or 7k HPs.
RE: Drops from....
# Feb 19 2002 at 12:25 PM Rating: Decent
The Drudge skeleton we fought was about 53 and not immune to fear just for the info. The 54 nec we had in the group had no trouble fearin it.
nice

My mage is still relatively low... but isn't Magi'Kot the guy who tried to manifest the elements(create mage epic pet) and kill himself trying because his will wasn't strong enough? Darn PvP... keep me scared of goin to the Nexus =P
RE: Ummm...
# Nov 05 2002 at 7:42 PM Rating: Decent
Is the Nexus a PvP zone on Sullon? Because on Tallon you cannot PvP in the Nexus or the Bazaar.

It wasnt that he killed himself, infact he is verry much alive. The power that he was in search of was more then he was capable of handling, driving him to insanity not causing him death but forever binding him to the elements forever not to control the elements but to be there servent..that wich we do not understand can never be ours....once we understand there is no need to own..his spirit lives in the master of all elementals. and forever in all of us

Power is not in controling but in compassion, mastery is not in owning but in understanding
