I had been there for 3 days .. first two days 8hrs each time . Killing nearly the entire zone. and nothing. The third time I killed Strickly the Mobs on the drop rate . Was there for about 12 hrs. I had gotten two in a row .. They do in fact still drop. They are just super super rare now is all. And I had got it off of the roaming Centi .. not the "A Centi Dator" Hope this helps.
Was power leveling some bot alts in there today and had one drop off A Centi Dator. If a centi has one on them it will be equipped and visible. Same with short swords, of which I had 4 drop while I was in there.
There was a rumor once a long time ago that they were going to make this lore. Some use the rumor to try and make extra $$$. So, not nerfed and still drops.
I have rounded up three within past couple weeks in Akheva while farming tradeskill drops. Mob always wields the weapon, can see that huge thing from a mile away.
Spent all night in Akheva Ruins and have yet to see one. Also, prices have reached as high as 40k in bazaar. All signs that this item might not drop anymore. It's not confirmed, have not checked ME, but looks solid to me. If going to Akheva Ruins, don't get your hopes up for one of these swords. Short Swords, however, were a common drop when I was there.
durign my raiding days in Akheva Ruins we wiped zone clean atlest 20-30 times while we doign all named evrytime 1 would pop (+ shard/container for VT camping) - I NEVEr saw Centi LS drop - NEVER in 2 month of raiding in Akheva. I still see them on bazar however I saw 1 centi SS drop but thats about it
I have been playing EQ, on and off, for about 3 years. The very first week I began playing as a druid in Kelethin, a Knight came by, dressed in gleaming armor, carrying with him the coolest looking sword I had yet seen in the game. Now, granted, I hadn't seen a whole lot, but regardless...
I asked him what sword he was using, and his response was, "A Centi Longsword." I asked how much he paid, and his response was 1500.
I made it a point, at that exact moment, to do whatever I had to do, to one day say I had a character that level, who looked as cool with his own armor, and was wielding the same sword.
For the last 3 months, I have been saving, and saving, and saving. I've been doing LDON's, camping in Rathe and Frontier, fighting more giants and goblins than I can bear to think of anymore, saving every single plat I earned, to know that one day I would walk into the bazaar, and come out with this sword.
I have made it a point to go into the bazaar on a daily basis to check prices and avialability, usually ranging from 3000-3500, as low as 2499, as high as 6k.
You need to understand, although I may have some good armor, and although I have been playing for quite some time, I, like most of you, have no money in the bank, and no higher level friends willing to donate me 20k. This was all on my own.
3 months of saving finally bore its fruit, last night, around 4pm.
I was just about to log my character, when I decided id make my usual quick check to see the item I couldn't afford, and wasn't going to be able to afford for a while.
And there it was:
Centi Longsword - 1000 plat.
Yes, I typed that correctly - 1000 plat.
As you know, by now, the sword is in my possession, and I do have to say that for the amount of building myself up as I did, waiting for this sword, I am impressed by it. But, my initial impression remains intact - this sword is WAY overpriced.
The point of this story - for those out there saving and saving and waiting and waiting as I did, and praying that someone in the bazaar would not completely blow a fair price completely out of proportion, dreams still come true - I'm proof. All it takes is dedication, and patience. You will eventually be rewarded.
To those on the bazaar who are listing this sword for 3.5k - get real. If you have read this little memoir, and know my history with this sword as you now do, I can safely say it's a steal for 1000, its a fair price at 1.5k, and anything after that is simply not worth it.
Thoryndar Briteblayde Paladin of the 35th Order Brell Serilis
Yup, I've seen 'em sell for 2500 average on my server. Found one on a vendor and paid 67 plat + change for it. My Pally carries it now. Found another one 3 weeks later on a different vendor, that one made me 3200 plat richer. That was prolly a year and a half ago.
People who don't need it can price it however they want. If a level 70 wants to twink an alt then they could pay 3500 without blinking an eye, it's all relative really.
More to the point though, Gratz on setting goals and being able to reach them. Enjoy that sword.
I believe this weapon is now nerfed to [LORE] - You used to be able to duel weild these. My friend who quit has a pre-nerf. I suppose you only would need one prenerf :) -------------------------- [ALSO] Because I see a discussion :
#WarpedMonkey,
Posted:Jun 04 2006 at 1:18 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) two things, when the rumor first started you couldnt link items. 2 plenty of prenerf items out there. one that comes to mind the most is fungus covered great staff. prenerf can b clicked in inventory hence forth it can b used by ne one, making it more xpensive. new one can only b clicked by classes who can equip, making it much cheaper.
When nerfed, all in game get nerfed, or the name gets changed however so slightly.
Not true, there is plenty of pre-nerf stuff floating around out there, usually you'll see someone throw it out in the bazaar for sale for 1M pp or more. See Guise of the Deceiver.
I think you do less damage however if you have two weapons of the same ratio? Specially like lammy and defiance (someone correct me if I'm wrong cause I'm still new at this) But if your a warrior like me, your primary concern is not to deal damage but to hold aggro. Don't know what class you are so I can't tell you whats a better combo for you. As a warrior I'd also get something for my mainhand that procs then put the centi ls in offhand. But thats just me.
Can anyone confirm that this item still drops off Umbrous Toilers in Maidens Eye. Not that I'm in need of it but while trying to get Black Flame Charcoal for Bane Warding Shield quest I have probably killed 300+ Umbrous Toilers. Results to date (approx)1 Charcoal, 4 Centi Warspears, 6 Centi Warhammers, 8 Centi Shortswords, 3 Transient Arms, 4 shaded Tomes, 60-80 Condensed Shadows and 0 Longswords

i am saving for centilongsword.right now i have a defenders lightblade and a wurmslayer. when i get centi longsword should i get rid of wurmslayer or defenders lightblade? i am a 34 ranger.
If you're 50+, you'll be getting near full damage from the defender's lightblade, and its secondary equippable, so its better than the Wurmslayer, which is too slow 50+. Of course, you SHOULD be buying a stained axe of the scions, if this is the case, not a centi LS.
On the other hand, if you are level 20, then the DLB is junk, now that they fixed the recommended levels. At level 20, a wumslayer/centi LS combo is better.
This is assuming you are playing a Ranger. If you are playing a warrior, I would not recommend ANY of these weapons, past level 35.
i am a level 35 ranger, and i got a centi longswoed, a defenders lightblade, and a silver sword of yalrek. which 2 should i equip? in which hand? and for chrissakes can someone give me a real reason why one should be in primary as opposed to secondary? everyone seems pretty divided on the subject. this is my first character ever, so bear with my ignorance, bretheren.
There is actully a breif time when you would want to use a low delay in offhand. When you first aquire dual weild the skill will be realativly low, ranger's get at 17, so you'r skill would be 17. Every time you succesfully swing you'r offhand you have a chance to raise you'r dual weild skill, I belive the check is on dex, but not 100% positive. So the faster you'r offhand swings, the more often it will succesfully swing and the faster you will improve in the skill. Once you'r skill is up to par, then you want to consentrate on haveing the best ration in you'r offhand. But at low levels (or low skill) while a 40/60 weapon (just example) would be awsome, you would never hit with it because you'r skill is so low.

Put the SS of yalrek in primary. First it is fastest. Second, it has a better ratio than the Centi.
Put the defender's lightblade in secondary. It has the best ratio, which is all that matters in secondary. IF recommended level weapons were not bugged, its ratio would be diminished by level. However, since they are, you'll get the same damage as you would if there were no recommended level.
Sell the centi, if you have those two swords, you have no use for it.
Now, to address what I suspect are some of the pieces of misinformation you may be receiving:
1) the fastest weapon DOES NOT have to be in the secondary slot. Some misinformed people thing the secondary only swings if it has "cycled" by the time primary swings. Thats completely wrong. Secondary cycles whenever IT's delay comes up, regardless of what is in primary. With the yalrek in primary, it would swing every 2.4 seconds, unhasted. The secondary will CHECK AGAINST DUAL WIELD SKILL every 3.4 seconds with defender's lightblade in secondary. that means, sometimes it will not swing. thats normal. delay of secondary does not cuase this. Primary swings EVERY 2.4 seconds. Secondary swings ONLY if it passes the dual wield check.
2) some people thing secondary delay has NO effect (wrong). If you have a 19 delay weapon in primary, and a 34 delay weapon in secondary, the primary will swing every 1.9 seconds (unhasted) and the secondary will do a dual wield check every 3.4 seconds.
Recommended level IS now fixed. Same patch that nerfed the Copper hammer of striking. Now that it has been fixed, you'll get well below the full output of this weapon (the defender's lightblade).
however, at the moment, the skeletal commanders are dropping a real nice sword 12/24 with a DD proc, that would be better than the centi.
does this thing even drop anymore i would never use one my self at my level but just curious as i have killed many centi and only ever seen short sword 3 times hammer 2 and spaer a few butnever in months of hunting in AR have i seen a centi drop

Usually I've seen them here on E Marr for about 2400 pp in the Bazaar. I was considering getting 2 for My ranger's dual wield. Level 27, but now I may use Centi SS in Primary and Long in Secondary. Any better suggestions?

If your out for damage, maybe get a schimitar of the emerald dawn in secondary, and centi LS in primary, but for speed, get a legendary dagger of might in primary or something, maybe lammy or defiance ....
I just made a lvl 1 ranger and purchased a Green Jade Broadsword which I love with all my heart. (It got me to lvl 6 in just 35min) I have a Centi SS in the bank but was wondering if I should replace it with a Centi Londsword once I am able to dual wield?
is this thing about 1 K usally?well im makin ranger he is 15 or sottin and he will duel weild a centi longsword in primary and wurm slayer in secondery.
this is a real nice sword, i have it on my ranger in offhand.. btw wurmy sucks for ranger... primary its too slow and secondary (if it went in secondary) its WAY too slow. the best duel wield option is probably the centi LS in main hand and shan'tok in offhand.. lowest delay should be in offhand or so iv been told could be wrong though
In secondary, you want the BEST RATIO. The only class that needs to worry about speed of their secondary weapon is warrior, since more hits means more aggro.
For a ranger, you want max damage, and as little aggro as possible.
Up to about level 50 or so, Wurmslayer is very good for this. At that point, most of the fast weapons begin to outdamage it, due to damage bonus.
The reason some people THINK you want a fast weapon in secondary, is they mistakenly believe that secondary delay is linked to primary, and you won't swing each round, if secondary has higher delay. Thats not true. PRIMARY and SCONDARY delay ARE NOT LINKED. You could have Wurmslayer in primary, and a 20 delay in secondary, and the secondary would still do a dual wield check every two seconds, even though the primary is not ready to swing yet.
An INCREDIBLE combo for a lower level ranger, is the Wurmslayer primary, and the scimitar of the emerald dawn in secondary. The scimitar is kind of pricy, so a platinum plated re`stek would work well too, if you're over level 35 or so.
At higher levels, there are very few purchasable primary weapons that come close to the stained axe of the scions as far as overall effectiveness for the price.
At level 56+ Stained Axe/Defender's Lightblade is VERY nice, when not using bow.
my ranger has a centi in secondary and wurmmy in primary. Don't get these weapons. Rangers should go for stats and effects. Wurrmy has a high delay. I would not recommend these weapons to a ranger. I am currently trying to upgrade.
im thinking of getting a centi long sword to go with my short sword, but which one should i keep in my primary, and which in secondary, the stats of a SS are 12 damage 25 delay, LS stats are 14 damage, 27 delay. thanks
Yes, this would be a decent offhand weapon for a Rogue for the damage bonus and stats, but considering a rogues skills, it would be better to use a dagger of the same quality (If possible) in the secondary slot
yes this is very good offhand for a rogue, it has a great ratio and Str and STa bonus which rouges need. It also it is high dmg/high delay which means you have the same DPS as a weapon with lower damage/lower delay and same ratio with lesss hits and therefore less aggro. I recommmend it for all mid level rogues or a Jagged Blade of Morning if you have higher sta/str than dex and want dex up.

Posted:May 11 2003 at 9:37 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I got one for free earlier today.. A friend gave it to me! I am weilding a Lamentation in primary and this is secondary. I went and fear kited a Large Zelniak in DawnShroud Peaks as soon as I got it.. (Large Zelniaks are still DB at 45) And I saw some its in the 50's! Mostly stayed in the 35-45 range.. Got 1 hit on him for 62! I deal some nice damage.. I have a Silvery Belt of Contention as my haste item.. 41% I believe. And let me tell you.. Nice combo! So sad that I will be dropping it in a couple of lvls.. when I finish epic!
Hehe, my story is not so unlike yours! I too got it from a friend, and right after i went out and soloed a zelniak, make an awesome difference from my old piece of crap, that zelniak was running in no time!
Hello all, I have been wielding a Centi LS on my paladin since level 25 and I want to upgrade but is seems the only options are planes raids. Any recommendations for something I could pick up in the bazaar?
There are several options for a Paladin at this level if you want to continue to focus on 1hs. Sword of the Morning is a good choice but in my opinion the best "affordable" sword at that level is Vengeful Diamond Blade, drop sin PoJ and can be purchased for usually under 5k.

Well, funny thing happened. After I posted, I went in-game and was in BAzaar...LO and BEHOLD..someone was auctioning off a centi-longsword for 1500pp. I of course bought the thing without a second thought.
Found it bazaar that I would find it in bazaar after asking about the thing.

I read somewhere, maybe on this sight..not sure anymore...that the Centi- LS's were no longer being dropped in game and for those who had them they became NO DROP.
Is this true or no? I want to get one for my Barb Warrior for his dual wield...actually two. A friend said armed with two of the LS's...warrior would be unstoppable.

However, they are not very good weapons for a warrior to dual wield. If you really want one, put it in secondary, and get a lammy for primary.
Your sig doesn't give your level, or I could give you advice as to what weapons you REALLY should want. Centi LS is an ok offhand for ranger or rogue, but really is too slow for a warrior.
This is a good lookin wep - not that bright thou - i got better. Might bring it to weddings and stuff - ill just leave it the bank for weddings and stuff.
It comes out to be with a SCHW or FBSS to about 21 delay and 14 damage with a Bracers of Earthen Energy its really nice about 15.03 delay and 14 damage.
Wow ppl have haste sooo screwed up, the weapon doesnt lower (ratio wise) having a 5/10 with 50% haste does not give u a 5/5 ... that would be just to ungodly, if you did the math an took the actual %'s you were stating you would relize how much delay you would lose from hast, no weapon would suck since everything would be so hard hitting an fast, check a wurmy for instance, if you had 41% haste + bard song an chanter haste a wurmy would be weapon of choice for main hand you would dish out the most insane ammount of dmg since that weapons delay is so damn low but get real its not how it works, when they say you have 22% haste it means you will deal 22% MORE DMG per fight. So if i deal 100 dmg break that into 1/5 so 20 dmg and about 2 dmg i will deal about 22dmg to my total Damage per second (or DPS) its a simple concept but ppl try to think up insane ideas to explain haste with all these insanely ubah math calcs and its just not needed, so if your total dps is 1000dmg per tick then you would dish out a total of 1250DPS its that simple.
Yevun -- do you have a SINGLE correct/and or useful post on allas? Haste does not increase the speed of a swing? So it makes you hit harder? There are only two ways to increase dps, hit faster, or hit harder. Total damage per second is 1000 damage per period of six seconds? You dont play the same game we do -- you dont even live in the same world we do.
Actually, he's right. Though his wording could throw people off. Haste does not increase your damage by X%, nor does it reduce your haste by X%. It makes you swing X% more often. This is usually misinterpreted as a damage increase.
And yes, there is a difference between delay reduction and more swings. Let's use a 100dly item, with 21% haste.
At least I think that's the right math. It's 4am, I may be mistaken :P
That is, unless you think a 14/20 weapon, 36% worn haste and 63% spell haste is going to end up with a 14/0.2 weapon. I notice everyone jumped on your flame bandwagon and rated his post poorly, too. Get your facts straight before you flame people. Thanks.

Very good clarification, that is the exact formula i've seen posted on many sites, and is the formula that most haste parcers use. Now that haste is no longer a guessing game, we can see that the parcers were pretty close most of the time, so we can also assume that the "Delay * (1/(1+Haste))" formula is the correct one.
The reason this weapon costs so much is that it is a great off hand weapon for duel-wield damage dealing classes that need to keep their agro low i.e. ranger, bard and rogue. These classes want a weapon that has the best ratio and not too much speed and this weapon fits that. I'm not sure why people keep posting that it's overpriced for a warrior...since it's price is based on it's value to the classes that DON'T want agro...If you can find my ranger an off-hand weapon that has a better ratio, has no agro causing proc, is not too fast and costs less...well sell it too me cause I'm buying.
1 hand damage bonus is based on the user's level, not the weapon. As to 1.9 being a bad ratio... well it's not bad at all. Maybe it is for a Pally or an SK who both get specialized 1 hand weapons because they don't get duel-weild, but for the rest 1.9 is great without spending uber cash.
i would want one at lvl like 20 to lvl 46 not get it at 46 and it costs so much at bazaar it is really only s good beginning wep. Not like wooooo kick a s s peeps [:dissapointed:]
this weapon is very interesting to me. I recently traded my sword of skyfire for it and soon asked for a PC in WC. People kept trying to trick me to get it from me. I wonder why people want it so much. I mean its good but not that good.
It is my opinion that for whatever reason, melee's who use 1hs primarily (warriors, rangers, bards) think that they need one of these until they can get "better". I agree that its not really that good... sure, its good... 14/27, +8 str and sta is nothing to sneeze at.
I still stand by my statement that this is a good low-taunt off-hand weapon for rangers and bards, but a very mediocre main hand weapon, especially at the level that you would theoretically need to be to get 2k to spend on the weapon, or be able to get it for yourself. For the 2k+ these run nowadays, a warrior would be much better off getting a Lammy, or some other low delay weapon.

This weapon looks far better on a large race. On an elf 'bard' or 'ranger' it looks almost laughable. Dual weilding? Lol even worse. Maybe those little races with these huge awkward swords can challenge the big boobed female barbarians to see who can tip over first.
I have one for my troll warrior and I wouldn't pay over 1k for it. Got a second one free for helping a player (who was multi-killed by Faydedar at the fire pots) summon 8 of his corpses with my necromancer.
Why is this weapon so expensive? It can't possibly be rare enough to warrant an inflated price on that accord, and if you were to tell me it was rare, I wouldn't believe you. I see this weapon more than I see the Shammy epic, and thats saying quite a bit.
The ratio is *barely* under 2. Sure its got a nice STR and STA bonus... but I hardly think that warrants a 2k price tag. I could see paying 1.5k... but no more, especially with the new PoP weapons and what not. I mean cripes you can get a Lammy for 1.5k. This isn't much better than a Lammy at all.
Anyway my bard is borrowing one from a friend until I gather up enough money to buy something decent for him. Its a nice weapon and everything... I just dont understand why it is so expensive.

Take into account bonus damage and it just keeps getting better. It really is a good weapon. And it goes into secondary if you have a faster weapon for primary.
When comparing it to other weapons you can't compare the damage bonus. Since every melee has a damage bonus of X at the appropriate level, it cancels itself out.
Damage bonus or not, its still not worth 2k. Its a decent, low-taunt offhand weapon for rangers and bards... seems to me that since you can get a Lammy for 1.5k, and some other, higher taunt weapons for the same or less price (Venomous Axe of the Velium Brood, anyone? Sells for 500-700pp on E'Ci.) warriors should pass over this weapon.

Planta Deathshrub <Crimson Legacy> Level 54 Erudite Heretic ======= Phack Yew <Haven of the Lost> Level 26 Barbarian Rogue
Although 1 hand damage bonus is the same for all melee at the same level, it isn't "cancelled out". Faster weapons benefit more than slower ones...for example if you have a 1 hand 10/20 weapon and a 1 hand 20/40 weapon they both have a ratio of 2. Yet the 1st weapon will swing twice in the time it takes the second weapon to swing once, and the damage bonus would be applied twice for the first weapon and only once for the second.
This sword looks ridiculous! I mean it's so huge for a 1hs. Anyways I need to get one for the +8 sta that it offers. Are there any other 1hs weapons suitable for a ranger with +sta?
does anyone have an idea the value of items that i would need to trade with a centi short for this?would i find anyone that would be willing to do a trade of that sort?
When I first started playing EQ back in Feb of 2002....Centi LS were not LORE...then for some reason they became lore....then for some reason they aren't lore again......so there ya go :)

Nah, no nerf - damage bonus isn't a fixed value. It varies with level and weapon, possibly class and others. In other words, using the Centi LS your bard had a damage bonus of 1, the one taking the screenshot had a damage bonus of 8, and another person may have a bonus of more than 8.
the price on mt is 2000pp lowest i have seen is 1850pp but i sold my last 2 for 2500pp and bought for 2000pp but took along time to get them for that price each but you can do it i only see one or two on at a time in bazaar and they are sold with in 2 mins it seams
