Great Buy!
# Apr 12 2004 at 2:34 AM Rating: Decent
I just bought these on luclin for 200pp I wasnt sure what they where worth but they seemed nice for my 35 Bst so i bought them from an out of trader seller in bazaar who was asking people to make offer for like 30 min so I offered 200 pp and they sold them. Guess after looking them up I can see I made an incredibley good buy.
Stupidily overpriced

On FV, even snake scales and rat whiskers cost 100 pp. These arms go for 25-30K sold by idiots who 6-box to farm. Good thing there are other arms that drop that don't cost as much... well until the same idiots bring their 6 toons to farm them.

Heh, there was a kid in our guild on Stromm who 6 boxes. After an argument with the guild leader he went back to FV. It's probably him.
Fine piece

I hath obtained this fine piece of armor through the slaughter of An Ancient Shissar Servitor. A very nice piece to obtain as a disciple of Cazic-Thule..Many more of these filthy creaturess and the surrounding creaturess shall be brought down with no mercey! May hatred guide thine fist and feet of fury!

great for the BST

Im not saying that this is beastlord gear only, Im just saying that from what I can see, these arms have the highest AC on droppable beastlord gear..which is nice...twice of what i have now (wearing brown chitin sleeves). I play my beastlord as one who fights alongside the pet..not just pet cleric...so these would be ab awesome upgrade for me...hope to get them in the near future...

I won these on a roll for my level 52 pally and yes I will use them they are an upgrade from what I had (ry'gor arm guards). As for being Monk or Beastlord only Bah!. As long as an item is better then what you have and you will use it I see no problem with rolling on an item. BTW I give most of my old stuff to other guild members on the same basis ( that thier main will use it and they pass it on when they get better equipment). This makes the guild stronger and keeps my behind poor...lol. I just get sick of all the monks who think that every decent item is for them only!
RE: great for the BST
# Aug 10 2003 at 5:29 PM Rating: Decent
You see alot of monks saying things should only go to monks. Thye reason is that when monks were introduced to the game there was VERY little gear for them. It was virtually impossable for a monk to keep up with any other class, as far as their gear quality. Also at the time there were only 2 good wieght redux bags, both of which were extremely hard to get (at the time). That ment monks couldn't loot much, if anything without out an AC hit. An AC hit they couldn't afford to take due to there lack of good gear. So, monks stayed poor and under equiped. That's why when something good dropped they felt they should get first dibs on it, and most people felt the same way.
That was then, this is now. I personally think that if something looks like it's really geared for a given class, or two, then they should get first dibs on it. But, if the group I'm in doesn't agree than I'm fine with that too. As long as they are consistent and let me roll on wiz gear to sell.

Notice that quote, genius?

I think his point was that since it's the highest ac dropable peice for that slot for his class(and also mine), would be a shame for a person that has better to roll on it and win if there's a beastlord in the group, a damn shame.
the look....

These dropped off a named golem today (one who is not yet listed in the bestiary). He was the left spawn guarding the ssra entrance and was nearly twice the size of the eternal golems. He conned dark blue at 58.

Also killed a few iksar slaves (undead) which are also not listed in the bestiary. They spawned to the left of the temple next to some ruins.

Not JUST monk gear.
# Aug 21 2002 at 12:25 AM Rating: Good
This is nice bard gear as well, it's soloable by a bard, and would be a nice upgrade from CC arms, which are NOT soloable. I plan on picking up a pair of these, and passing the cc arms down to my bro's pally. I like the look of the cc arms though, and might pass the hardened grey flesh ones to my bro, either way, a pally at lvl 53 shouldn't still be using crusty...

On a side note, it's kinda f'd up to see people going "Oh! This is (insert their class here) gear!" Seriously, think for a moment here, yeah, I can see this as being very nice monk gear, but other classes can easilly benifit from it as well. That's probably why they put so many classes as being able to use them. I go on enough raids, and xp groups to get sick of that attitude. Classes that can USE it have every right to roll on it, granted, if a class is going to roll to sell it while someone else in the group could use it, then they should be bound, tethered, and then strung from the side of a ship untill the barnicles have had time to strip their skin off. Granted, that's my opinion.

prime rogue stats
# Jul 31 2002 at 6:39 AM Rating: Decent
Bought these for my 50 Rogue for 6K which seems to be the lower end of the price range on Torv. Probably could have gotten better for the price but I love the across the board stats. AC, Str, Dex, Sta, and HP are the stats I look to raise on him and these fit the bill perfectly. Now I can use my Mrylo Vambs exclusively for the free buff.

Better than SoV quest.
# Feb 05 2002 at 12:09 PM Rating: Default
It’s sad that these smoke Golden star sleeves. Like most of my Kael quest armor, my Golden star sleeves are rotting in the bank. Monk quest armor needs a serious upgrade. I still use 3 pieces of Golden Star and they are my weak points in my armor.

Well yah, but if you don't have 8k to spend right away, Kael Quest sleeves are the next best thing until you do.

Anyone seen these on a human? Any race for that matter. Curious about what the Grey Flesh sleeves and tunic look like with Luclin installed and also without Luclin installed. Thanks

Answering my own question here. I finally found a set for sale in EC (they were asking 10,000pp!). Anyway, I snatched them right up and have them equipped now. With old models for my human male monk they have the old leather design graphics however a very dark grey instead of brown/tan (not bad, but not great either). With the new models enabled for humans, they appear to be literally... grey flesh. That is to say, my arms look like they are tinted grey (like spandex or tinted skin). I also have the Grey Flesh Tunic and together they look fairly good, and I love the stats! I suspect, if I had a better graphics card, using new model graphics there would be some sort of texture. I use the old models anyway because I prefer them but when I do have new models enabled I am missing some but not all of the armor graphics on PCs and NPCs. We're talkin' naked here. Can't confirm this but I did read that with new Luclin models and a GOOD graphics card, these sleeves and the tunic look a little like dark grey chain (fungi tunic style).
As with quite a few items, these we're apparently a common drop off a fairly common mob and now, after a few weeks and zone changes, are a semi-rare drop off a semi-rare mob. Not too easy to find, that's for sure. A HUGE improvement over my Azure sleeves. Possibly best monk sleeves in the game at the moment.

BTW... the Grey Flesh Tunic looks like a Cresent Gi (only dark grey) and the entire chest/back area is tinted grey. Probably a bug. Looks like your wearing a Gi under a see-thru grey shirt. Tattoo still appears, however faint.

Well don't know about other classes or races, but on my Human Monk they have no grapic whatsoever.

Just bought these on Druzzil Ro. Paid 4K and I think that's a great price - they're better than Velious quest or planar arms, and a hell of an upgrade over azure sleeves. Equipped at Lvl 55, they added 7 AC and 45 HP over the azure, not to mention the other stats and cold resist.

Expect a lot of azure sleeves on the market.

Anyone know what creature this drops on?
RE: Note

Ancient Shissar Servitor, static spawn around the Shissar Temple in the Grey. He used to spawn frequently, and dropped these as his common. As of Dec 10, his spawn rate has been cut back considerably.
