What is important to know here is there are two pits. One of them is devoid of picks, but the one on the first floor is the one with the rooms off to the side with the picks in them.

Useful comment. I wasted a lot of time in the wrong "pit." The picks are also not all that obvious. You'd expect a pick to be a big object but these aren't and they kinda look half buried in the ground. If you're in a pit with spiders, you're in the wrong pit.

These are found as ground spawns in the side rooms off the mining pit area in Bloodmoon Keep. They look like mining picks on the ground.
