I picked it up in a group with my lvl 24 (at the time) Cleric, we were camping in one of the tunnels and pulled it twice in 3 hours along with 2 of the piercing weapons.... There were four of us in the group, a 21 rogue, 27 necro, 27 paladin along with myself. We had no problem holding a corner passage and except for occassional trips to nearby enchanters for breeze/clarity it was fun and great xp for all...

That's what I sell it for normally anyway... I get 'em all the time farming for porus mineral blocks.

me a lvl 25 sk and my guild leader a 25 mage were able to defeat this guy... he was doing some major damage and i couldnt get him off lol, i was running around this big pillar while the pet was hitting it from behind, the earth pet kept rooting it so it would turn round and beat on the pet, while it was busy i bandaged myself up some. Finally it killed the pet and came at me, the mage went oom from blasting and it was gonna be close... we both had veery low hp and i was tapping like crazy. I was close to hitting the HT when a lvl 27 sk ran up darknessed it and hit it a couple times! I looted the chitin! YAY!
this thing should be worth a bit more than 150pp... i think may be 300 would be a good price for it.. it is a rarish spawn that is camped by higher lvls a lot. The MoB is like lvl 30ish
if you could get a good snare on it you might be able to quad kite it around that pillar in the hall. Also this place looks like it was built for fear kiting! long halls that you could just fear up and down in! You would have to watch for guards though, because a customs officer guy wanderes up and down and might KS you

Actually you do not need to be lvl 40 to attain... i am 40 and i walked through killin the whole zone (warr) this guy took 1/2 bub off me. nice BP almost gave up my rygorr for the fire save but alas i am a str hound...

He is a random pop all over the cave at the 4way in the netherbein lair.

can someone tell me what tunnel i should take to get to the swarm leader??? if you give me any directions start from the shadow haven tunnel...=)

Actually, this is quite a nice breastplate for the level. Compared to a fine steel breastplate, it's got +1 AC, +2 STR, +10 fire resist ... and it weighs 6 stone instead of 10. I'm gonna hunt me one up tonight.

Looted this with my partner. Both of us are lev 27, bard and SK. Probably could have soloed it but it would have been close. You definately don't have to be 40 to get this, and it seems to drop quite commonly.
Nice BP. I'd wear it but my brigandine tunic gives 7 str and some stam, and I really don't wanna give those up.

Agreed. A level 30 human monk solo'd the mob that drops this. Was killing fungoids to farm some armor for my girlfriend who just started EQ with an iksar monk. Had a couple out in the hallway and watched the monk stomp on the swarm leader/queen whatever it's called. She finished up with like 30% of her life left.

This breastplate is nice, especially for the level and semi-ease to get. It falls off a level 30 mob. Also, in this area are swarmcallers, which drop a decent piercing weapon (looks like a horn) which is 8/25 +2str +10hp. Don't remember its name, but both I and my pally friend looted one last night. We got 2 out of 3 swarmcallers killed.

The piercer is the Netherbian Unguis. It is usable by WAR, RNG, BRB, ROG,BST and is also Lore. Same Ratio as Harpoon of the Depths with a STR modifier instead of Dex and +10 Less HP BUT it can be used in either Primary or Secondary (Harpoon is Primary only). Nice Dual Wield Weapon.
The swarm leader is the big Netherbian baddie. He conned even to my 29 monk, he hit for 54 max (only because I was sitting when he attacked me)... Other than that he was fairly weakm hit for 3 damage most of the time lol =p so an undercon, but he had a lot of HP so he wears you down. My armor wasn't too good for a monk, mostly around level 30 stuff with a pair of CC ears, foreman's tunic and drake hide armor. A good fight, with a nice drop... too bad I can't use it lol =p

This item has a nice resist on it but as far as i can see thats just about it i may think about getting it for my cleric on raids as a little more in the resist department is always handy but theres no way i'd be wearing it for anything other than the extra resist.

This BP is almost Identical to Ro bp for paladins, -2 str, but you dont have to go through all that... to get it 8)

So true...hurts, cuz i just finished my ro bp quest today, and after blowing 210 pp on the plat bars and time spent in MM i could've got this one. Probably has a distinctive graphic too. Sigh. Ah well, 2 extra strength is a bit of consolation :)
