Had a 50 ranger and dropped in to pay the giant shroom a visit. Pulled his little buddies out and squashed them one by one. Then I went in for the big guy himself. I started at 90% health and half mana. Things started badly but I used cancel magic to negate his buffs. Dropped a DoT on him right away and blasted away with nuke arrows when I could. He threw me around the room once in a while, but I just charged right back. Dropped him like a bad habit with 28% health (Mostly from his ds) and about 25% mana. Dropped the eye and Sapro spores. Was looking for the spell he drops for a shammy friend. Guess I'll have to go back in for a second round.

After repeatedly finding this guy camped I decide to pop in one night before going to bed just to see if he is up and Lo! there he is and even better there's no one camping him.

Needing my level 49 Pally spell "Remove Curse" (not vital, but wouldn't mind having it anyway) I decide to give him a go.

Buffed up with the usual goodies including Valor of Marr and Divine Purpose (great when ya have KEI) plus Endure Magic and Poison. Killing time... Pacified and single pulled cultists from room and then healed up for the big guy.

Knowing about his knockback, I park myself between him and the back wall and commence beating on him. Between the MR and PR buffs, bashing and chain stunning, he went down easy, and lo and behold he drops the spell and A Saprophyte Eye. Got so lucky...everytime I've seen him killed by others the spell never dropped.

My lucky day, went to bed happy.

Well i camped the lilly pad room for about 1hour 45min b4 he spawned killed all mobs close for fun even whent and killed some king guy droped a wing +3dex agil ?? sold 50pp to neerest pc who needed a back slot anyhoow (the battle i am 54 ench got out 49lvl pet hasted buffed ac and killed all mobs in room b4 big schroom poped Big man poped i rune 5 pet and self then zerker str pet had both mana drain spells up pulled with tash. he nuked pet in to battle slowed shroom then doted and cast zerker str on pet ever time poped up and nuked in between 2 nukes dead pet haf life didnt summon me once. ( keep room clear or will b more trouble GL

He can't be mezzed by Dazzle or presumably lower level spells.

This dude whipped my 54 Chanters butt pretty quik for a dang greenie... Really something u should bring along a melee to keep its attention. He makes it really hard to cast due to his summoning... Nukes for up to 180-200 i believe. Dropped earring after being better prepared (resist gear on) to take him.

I found The Great Saphrophyte last night while looking for vendors/npcs for more pieces of the grave robbers quest.. I killed the couple boglings in the outside room but not the 4 cultists in his room. He was green and I underestimated him and thought he'd come to me but he doesnt move. I slowed all 4 cultists but my pet ended up dying, the shroom kept summoning me and nuking me like mad. I epic dot'ed him once which took him down 2/3rds or so (so hes got less than 2k hp) but he killed me.

Second fight I put on all my HP/AC/MR buffs and my resist gear and went at him again.. still didnt kill the cultists.. this time I went down faster because I was trying to cast gate instead of heal. Was pretty embarrassing.

Third fight I took it really slow and pulled the cultists out of the room and waited until i was full mana and hp and had 12 buffs and then MR debuffed him and threw 2 dot's on him and started nuking.. it still was kind of close compared to killing 2 blues in chardok at the same time.. but he died and dropped this earring. very hard for his level, approach him cautiously and be patient, but if you are well prepped he drops ok, again not a lot of HP. would rather have gotten gloves for resist gear hee hee. I think i'll kill him a few more times since he made me mad by killing me twice.

luclin has some really cool mobs and some nifty new items and spells. like in fungus grove theres this lotus that throws these hard to resist spells for 450pts over and over and over.. wipes out most people.. until a pally gets that new 6 second silence spell.. then he/she chain casts that and the guy goes down fast (lots of hp though).. I have been summoned by level 20 owl bears (hee hee) and run into lots of other cool stuff so far, and many items have +% to skills.. fun expansion

I was thinking this item would be great for a bard well it would had verrant not screwed bards over in their little luclin patch
I have a couple of questions for anyone nice enough to answer
1) what type of mob is he (undead, animal etc)?
2)could a 52 cleric have a shot at killing him with a tank friend?
