# May 07 2010 at 2:15 PM Rating: Decent
Well I just tried soloing her withought killing anything in the zone and I fded at 30% and she was at 40% I had about 300 adds it was pretty fun but thre is no way to even cast my epic 2.0 for a heal way to many hits next time I will try with some healing pots and that will probably be a success.
If I had killed even 1/4 of the zone it would have been cake but EVERYTHING comes to help her named mobs etc... lol I should have taken some screen shots

My first Tunare raid in over 6 years of playing, and I got the Branch! Wooo! I celebrated by bonking a faun and snaring it to kite. But he summoned me, grrr!

All snares are stable in that they last their full duration unless something causes them to be directly removed - eg the recipitent being cured.

nice item
# Aug 31 2003 at 5:53 AM Rating: Decent
For PvP reasons this would be extremely useful for beastlords i would think. basically since there's no way to snare till 5 aa's and level 59 is attained. wish there was more stuff nodrop out there for beasties cause on rallos they seem to get hosed pretty bad for anything nodrop.
RE: nice item
# Sep 10 2003 at 12:14 PM Rating: Default
Very nice item for a Beastlord! Very nice for any classes listed really but I am tired of mobs chasin down the casters (or me for that reason) after a slow or debuff is cast. I have been looking for a snaring weapon for a very long time. I use the Treant Staff to keep mobs rooted, when it sticks, and seems to work well in Plane of Nightmares. If I could get this baby, and the Possessed Grimling Club, would be a very fast and deadly combo. Now if they could just fix Grimling Forest so that the quests and items were dropping proper again ....

I have to agree this would be great for a shaman. It'd be a nice aggro weapon for when i'm tanking pling guildies in pov oc. I know what your thinking a shaman tanking in pov? all i have to say to that is a pull with debuff and it's slowwed by the time it gets to me and lr 2 doesn't hurt either. It'd be great for soloing there as well as i could kite and use my jbb. Defintely a great weapon for any class that can kite and doesn't have snare. Shamans are such a ghetto melee class. Sometimes i wonder why we get the best melee stat buffs in the game and don't get dual wield/double attack. would I spend alot of dkp on it? Probabley not. I would bid some though heh.

If a class is listed then it has the right to use it I get so tired of hearing ... you cant have that because it is a meelee item ... if i can/will use it I should be able to get this item luckily my guild has a DKPS system and I can bid on on anything I want. Im a barbar shaman and the effect of this bad boy makes me drool.

Give to Melee No Doubt

This seems to be pretty rare, hopefully there will always be a needy monk/ranger, hate to see such a nice melee weapon go elsewhere. On that note I would like to see the weapons of the monks and rangers that turn this down.

ok, my guild has been dropping tunare like every weekend now for a few weeks, dont think we have missed her once, and so the rarest loot seems to be the weapons, the belts we get like crazy, 2 at a time dropping, once we even got 3, so far belt hasnt dropped for only one fight. now back to the weapons. they seem to be rarer, each time u may get a weapon or two to drop but almost every time its diffrent. so far this stick has dropped twice first time it went to a ranger, the 2nd time it went to a ranger (me). now i havnt had it to long, but hte other ranger claims this thing is a death wish, if u get a double proc u are the main tank. so as for classes to get this, i would have to say rangers (it can be controlled with jolt and a good tank) and monks who can just FD. i dont think this is ever going to go to a cleric, nor has a cleric ayed on it so far, and on a side note, if ur a cleric high enough lvl to come to a pog raid that kills tunare u dont solo, u go to pop. alot of people say this would be nice for a cleric or a shammy for that one time proc then it goes in the bag, but really u have to be one selfish cleric/shammy to wanna keep this away fro ma melee class. (oh and i know i am going to get some flaming, so to counter act it, the first ranger i made refrence too, already has swiftwind and no longer needs pog faction and i myself only go as a scout/track *****, then i help fight tunare and log right before death.) well this is one long post for me and is more opinion then fact or useful info, so let me just make this clear, IF U GET THIS AND GROUP WITH IT AND U ARE NOT A MONK U WILL DIE A FEW TIMES FROM AGRRO (this has been tested by Peeler in BoT). i am rdy to take a few, but with jolt i should be able to be ok most of the time. so for the soloing ranger (yes we can) this roxs, i have it in main hand with the whip i got off tunare as well, and my DPS is very ncie now =P so i hope the bit of info i have given is helpful, and for the flamers, lighten up, people make mistakes and u should never hate someone for not knowing somthing.
Lovely weapon for your high 50s when Ranger's MA
# Feb 24 2003 at 2:20 AM Rating: Decent
Aloha all

My friend and fellow ranger looted this about a year ago, and it did a fine job of holding aggro when he played MA for exp groups. Good damage ratio, and a proc that raises aggro levels. He never had a problem keeping the aggro.

This was in the days when level 60 rangers could MA in Velks and Seb though. Pretty sure I would not be weilding this in my BoThunder exp groups today though and trying to play MA :-)
Idiots on this thread
# Jan 27 2003 at 7:44 PM Rating: Decent
You can look at the dmg/delay and that should tell you what classes should get it.
M E L E E .... not that many weapons out there have a ratio like that...
This would be great for any of the melee listed for it.
To give this to a cleric/druid/shaman, would be completely uncalled for.
RE: Idiots on this thread
# Mar 14 2003 at 3:23 PM Rating: Default
Accually most guilds that take down tunare have done NToV and ST ... thus equiping all there melee with damage to delay ratios like the one above. So its not totally uncalled for if a shaman or cleric got this weapon. To pick a caster over a melee that could use this weapon would be uncalled for though hehe.

Just let the clerics have the damn thing. They do enough work for the rest of us, let them have a decent weapon to they can run around killing greenies and see "You have slain soandso!" once in a while. being a cleric is definitely not the most exciting thing, but having a weapon like this where they could actually contribute a small bit in melee would brighten any cleric's day.
#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 15 2002 at 4:52 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Dont be a ****** idiot... why would u waste a good wep on clerics? they wouldnt even want this cuz it has to wis/mana. so you are just another stupid newbie who has no concept of the game and shouldnt be allowed to play
RE:
# Nov 20 2002 at 4:35 AM Rating: Default
The only thing a cleric is missing to fear kite is a snare of some sort or other (except for the DE clerics). Are you going to deny them the ability to solo? If this dropped on my raid, I'd call for rolls from clerics and monks.
RE:
# Dec 20 2002 at 1:00 AM Rating: Default
I would definately have to agree with you. You would be out of your mind to give this to a cleric on your raid instead of a monk unless the monks already had better and did not want it. With a good 1h weapon that increases wisdom and mana a cleric will get much more ouf of that weapon then they would this weapon.

.... *ahem* BEASTLORD! i mean honestly... a beastlord with snare would be even more amazing at soloing. Imagine proc'ing on a big baddy and aggro kiting it around while woofy tears it to pieces. Thats insane!

so yea.. /gofuk to clerics and monks :)

GRRRR... all you people say monks can't have good weapons cause they'll get aggro and die. Have you seen the new warrior weapons?! They're just as good and some have procs for 300+ (not many but some.)

Then, of course, Verant saw all the monks running around and killing everything, so they gave us a 40 30 rod with a debuff proc, so now we can keep on DYING!! =P
RE: hmmm...
# Jun 15 2002 at 8:53 PM Rating: Default
And don't know who the fvck told you monks cant have good weapons cuz they will die is, but they are very very wrong...

Monks get the best weapons in the game and they can control their agro better than anyone else, they just gotta fd once and a while during the fight, mob will never hit them.
RE: hmmm...
# May 22 2003 at 4:04 AM Rating: Default
No, they don't CONTROL their arggo better then anyone else. Sk with their arggo buff, direct hate list increaser spell, and fd control their arggo both ways, as in getting and losing it, way better in getting it and just as good at losing. Though sk are true melee and fd only bad pulls, not to lose arggo. But, in way you mean rogues with evade does heck of a job not getting arggo and just as good as monk, depends on rogue skills pc wise. Funny how we just got horses with luclin, but, 50% of monks have been on a high horse since before kunark. Zipkus's warder bites the legs of a monk's high horse for 300 damage. Monks falls to the ground, off their high horse and out of their throne. So know the ones, of any class, that have right to gloat can cause of skill and accomplishments not what class you are. But, most who should brag are humble from time it took to reach their current status. Cause I can solo circles, ovals, rectangles, and any other geometric shape you choose around a monk my lv. But, that don't make bst better then monks, nor any other class better then another. Just I have many skills and spells focused in this area. So to all the humble monks, and from class wise they should be most humble, keep up the great monky work. To the other 50%, I have better things to do. And add this Weapon has beastlord all over it, lol. Sorry for last joke heard it from enough monks, who say "it just cause we happy to see such great weapon we can use." So my only weakness is fixed with this weapon, I am just happy to see that.

why to a cleric
# Jan 03 2002 at 5:49 PM Rating: Default
first clerics dont get snare so it is for more use to a cleric then a druid and btw with a good wep melee is an option for the soloing cleric i can solo blues easy meleeing with a good wep and pumping mana in heals instead of nukes and with this baby clerics would be able to fear kite and use their lame pets so no way this is useles to a cleric
of course it is awesome for all other classes that can use
RE: why to a cleric
# Mar 27 2002 at 9:16 PM Rating: Decent
Yea, as a shaman soloing/duo-ing in Sebilis or Charasis, runners is always an issue. With the advent of the AAXP a LOT of 60's are out doing the exp thing and this is what every shaman/monk shaman/warrior tandam could ask for. With ENsnare on this weapon and a 19 delay, the chance of a running mob really drops to almost a non issue. Now if VI can get the 14 slot 100% weight reduction bags out we can actually carry all these "tools of the trade"!

Ya know cantiz isn't really lvl 65 monk, because he puts 65 prophet when we all know that a 65 monk is a Transcendent, lol
RE: why to a cleric

Your tipoff that Cantiz isn't a monk shoudn't have been that he put 'prophet', but that he specifically said he's a *shaman* in the first sentence... nothing gets by you eh?

Unfortunately not likely to see this on a sub 60 by much, but has nice applications back when we do all the JBB work. get up your regen, root, slow, JBB till root off, then melee till you snare. After that you never have to melee it again since snared it won't reach you before re-root.

Cleric/agros
# Dec 04 2001 at 1:34 AM Rating: Default
IMHO ..why should this Melee wpn goto a cleric again? ..Do Clerics even Melee..should cleric even Melee? to me that answer would be "a Huge No"
Becuase its not a clerics Job To "MELEE".

The resistance is nice and the effect is nice..i could see why it would goto a ranger/druid/shaman for that fact of the snare..but i am sorry all hands down i believe this to be more of a monk wpn for this Fact: Your group has no snare'r your group consist of Monk-A, Monk-B, Warrior, Enchanter, Cleric, Rogue. Now the rogue seems to have some poisons that can make the mob be snared..the warrior can use a ensnaring whip.. and the monk has?...exactly..Nada for snaring..atleast not to my knowledge. now lets say rogue and warrior dont have these snaring wpns..if the chance either monk A or B does have the item above... then that means Monk A or B can snare using the item and if Agro'd Thats What ya Use Fiegn Death For..is also why the warrior Taunts..
Just my thoughts

Even a cleric can solo sometimes, and if equiped nicely (Having this would indicate that) they are much more mana efficient if they can put out melee damage and heal themselves than by trying to nuke the mob to death.

Fist of Nature
# May 02 2002 at 12:21 AM Rating: Default
There is also a Wep that she drops that isn't listed: Fist of Nature. Its a monk/bst wep. I forget what the proc is but I think its a Snare or Root proc. And I think it is 15/19 plus stats. Maybe someone will post it eventually here on Allakhazam's.

So even though this is a nice wep let someone else get it cause it was due to these rants that Verant prob put the Fist drop on her loot table. And without a doubt that drop is a monk wep. Well bst too but more monk.

Flame on...

Lets compare apples with apples here. This drops off a lvl 65 god. Do not compare it to stuff like KD and SoS. Compare it to things like primal velium and other equally difficult, amazing items. There are actually many weapons I would rather wield than this, just because of the aggro generated by the snare, which would generally be bad in a raid situation. However, I can see application in pulling (where snare will allow you to split normally un-splitable (by monks) mobs) AND, especially, in soloing. Proc snare, instill doubt, wack wack wack their back.
