Cmon!! Warrior cant use?? Great dmg/dly with AC I cant see why a warrior cant use?? Ensnare will only add to the taunt for warriors!

While having great stats, I for one would not want to use this weapon as it would mean instant death for any ranger on a raid. Snare is a huge taunt whether resisted or not.

you'd think if tunare saw her followers whooping on her, she would zap their powers away! lol that would be cool if she summoned all her followers to defend her!

technically she does, if you aggro tunare the zone goes crazy if you have not cleared the entire zone and you aggro tunare the whole zone comes at you pretty much *cringe* and that hurts =x

I think he meant PC's... don't you think that it's a bit ironic that a Cleric of Tunare would be healing a warrior that's beating the crap out of her?

Imagine she had an AoE Charm unresistable to only and all worshippers of Tunare... not only make the game more realistic, but she'd be a little harder to kill, and a lot of people would be banned from PoG when Tunare's getting raided on.

Very specific class range, with most of our rangers have tolans/primal and not wanting to swap in this after avatar procs (they are lazy). For monk, comparitively low dam/delay with a lot of the weapons available to them, and especially weak compared to gharn's.

It's okay, but for comparison, the first one on our server went to a monk twink, not a main.

I envy that level 46 monk twink..... BAD =O
that's one bad **** branch if you ask me. Also only shammie item i've ever seen that has clickable or procable snare ever. nice saves too.
To bad i don't know any uber guilds with lotsa level 60's to help a brother out. Shammie dots and snare = fun kiting.

Here's the only other Shaman usable ensnare item in the game. Much more likely for a shaman to get it. Although still doubtful I will. =\

I've been trying to do a newbie quest for a 4 charge snare (not to be mistaken as ensnare) item, but I cannot get the mob to drop the item needed for the quest... I think it might be screwed up where higher levels can't get the item drop or something. =\

I do think this 1hb is best in the hands of a monk, however I'd still love one to swing at fleeing mobs when I'm soloing. >=)

Good thing clerics can use this, I think this item should go to a cleric.

Wow, so quick to flame this weapon. Are you trying to say that a weapon that weighs .5, has a great ratio, ac, stamina, and resists wouldn't be adored by your local monk? /ponder

take that proc off and this is an excellent weapon.
#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 21 2001 at 2:49 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Twit, the fact that it has ensnare adds to its excelence. /smack!
RE: ack
# Nov 21 2001 at 11:56 AM Rating: Default
Not really. At high end game in most (if not all) encounters, monks or rangers do not want the aggro.
And ensnare is a major taunt even if resisted.

Anyway this is an awsome weapon.

Just my 2cp.

Why can rangers use this? Maybe because not all rangers follow Tunare. There is the option of following Karana for 2 of the 3 ranger races. BTW, grats to SR and Watchers for owning the bitz. You didn't take me though!

there are 4 ranger races...wood elf, half elf, human and Halfling. And if I'm not mistaken 3 of those can worship Karana (I think half elves get a choice). However the majority of rangers are tunare worshipping woodelves.

Why is it Tunare drops items that are Ranger useable? I've seen several items now that she drops that Ranger's can use. Even if a Ranger serves another god/goddess wouldn't it go against their very nature to kill the Goddess of Nature? As a Ranger I'd never mess up my faction with Tunare, even if she wasn't my chosen deity.

Well, think about it this way: Tunare drops a weapon made of wood from some sacred tree imbued with the spirit of nature. Now who can use this? Classes that are spiritually aligned or other folks? It makes more sense to me that a druid or ranger would be able to wield such a weapon and understand it than a warrior or mage would be able to.

As the diety of a lot of rangers, it makes sense she'd have some ranger momentos tucked around somewhere.
RE: Rangers...

So the Goddess of Rangers is only going to give her followers nice toys if they kill her... Sorry, to me that doesn't make sense.

i dunno, like many religions, their may be competition between factions, even if they aren't as drastic as good vs. evil. many crusades of early times weren't led against satan-worshippers. they were led against other people who believed in the same god in a different way. lookin back it is hard to believe that someone was going to prove their beliefs were correct by killing the opposition. it is possible they felt the "other" religion was poisoning the minds of good people and thus, contributing to the damnation of their eternal soul.

#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 20 2001 at 5:24 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) So i was looking at the stats, was thinking "wow, so Tunare drops 2 items worth a darn," when all of a sudden i see which classes can use and its BS. I am sorry, but this weapon is POSSIBLY useful for a ranger, but if a warrior cant use it, it is a PoS. Anyone else notice Tunare drops no warrior items?
RE: PoS
# May 16 2002 at 2:47 PM Rating: Decent
this is a great item and BTW she does drop WAR items
RE: PoS
# Nov 20 2001 at 6:25 PM Rating: Good
im relatively indifferent to what classes can use which gear. i pretty much accept verant's rules and until i know absolutely ALL the loot out there (which will never happen). and unless u know and can balance the entire loot table for EQ then u really don't have a viable reason to say a piece of gear sucks only because your favored class can't use it.

i think this is a fine weap for those who can use it and for those who can't ... it just shouldn't matter.

i do see some things i wish my SK could use, but i feel there is enough out there (discovered and undiscovered) for SK's to not flame verant or the loot itself.
#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 20 2001 at 7:22 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Yeah but Warriors can't use the Dragonhorn ykesha :P

# Nov 20 2001 at 5:11 PM Rating: Decent
lol, would be funny using this thing and hitting mobs with a branch, hehe

besides that, its a great weapon for any of the classes listed, except beastlord, cause i dont know all about beastlord, or what they do...
RE: branch
# Nov 20 2001 at 10:24 PM Rating: Default
Beaestlord = Shaman 25% - Monk 75% = Beastlord 100% (what it looks like to me at any rate)
RE: branch
# Nov 21 2001 at 3:45 PM Rating: Decent
well, what about the pet thing? if they were 75% monk, they wouldnt need the pet thing...

/shrug
RE: branch
# Nov 21 2001 at 5:23 AM Rating: Default
i think its more like 25% monk 25%shaman and 50% there own new thing
RE: branch
# Nov 21 2001 at 9:04 AM Rating: Default
Actually, from what I understand, they will have the armor/melee cababilities of a monk, the combat and heal spells of a shaman, and pet spells akin to a mage.
