Ok, this is what I have found out by being a rogue. We LIVE for Backstab right? Ok, that said, why the hell would you want a low damage wpn in either hand? The higher the damage of a piercer the more BS damage. Also, the delay of an offhand weapon is negated. Its better to get a very high damage weapon in BOTH hands if you really want to do some damage as a Rogue.../petition Why do almost all the quests in this game SUCK for your level? Grrrr.. 8P
hey bud you might be right... but youre a lil whiney bi*ch... This quest was made "Back In The Day" Every rogue (before kunark) did this quest.. now its second-rate and you can buy better... (back in the day when selling dragon loot would get you shunned) If youre starting out and dont have a connection this is a great quest to get you a decent weapon... What did you expect? somthing comparable to epic or mrylokars dagger of blood? Get over it if you think like this this the game will never meet your expectations.
I agree with Blankz. Too many people expect you to be able to equip with Godlike weaponry by the time you're level 6. The sole reason for playing any class should be the challenge, and completing every class specific quest including your epic should be your long term goal imho. Until you've quite literally "been there, done that, got the T-shirt" how can you possibly say that you've really played a class.
Personally , I'd like to see all magic items made level specific and no-drop. That would see the end of all twinks, make people really work for their items, encourage even more grouped / raid questing and perhaps most importantly....make smithing a truly GREAT skill to learn again.
I still remember those days when I used to look at banded and plate armor and start drooling.
To be honest if you kill some spiderlings and sell the silks for 1pp each you can buy a gimling mining pick for about 20pp (1 stack of silks). Its 12/29, which is better than this when you take into consideration the BS.
If you mean the Sturdy Grimling Mining Pick, it's not a magic weapon, so the mobs you can use it against are pretty limited. Heck, you can't even hit the Grimlings with it. Or at least not the ones I tried. I picked one of these up off a dead Grimling and then used it in my primary slot for the next fight. The target grimling was immune. Dropped it and ignored them from then on, except as sellable loot.
I've already got a crystalline spider fang, a very nice primary weapon for my level 37 rogue. But I'm still considering starting the Burning Rapier quest the next time I get a few days when my other friends won't be online. It's a long way from being the best weapon, sure... but there is just something cool about being able to say "I did this". If nothing else, having the rapier is one more small piece of evidence that I'm an experienced player.
