It seems like this item is only given through GM events, but of various ones.
I recieved this shield maybe in 2001 on my druid in Lesser Faydark. The GM event was about Firiona Vie needing four players whose dieties were Tunare. Our roles were to help call Tunare for Firiona. Later down the line, Cazic Thule showed up. Afterwards, Firiona gave the four callers an item to turn into an NPC in Felwithe. I turned in my item, and recieved this shield.

I wouldn't mind this for my 11th Shammie the Ac is pretty big and the wis would help

This isn't bad for a GM event item :) It's a good item to use between getting/having a CGS and an SBS.
Yeah this is nice. I would swap this with my Test of Vanear for a minimal WIS loss and a small boost to Save Vs. Magic on occasion.

First, this was not a Halloween event. The event happened like this: Alkabors assitant, who I forget the name of, was in DL looking for a wizard to bring something to Alkabor in Burning Woods. Im not sure what was brought, as I wasnt the wizard and only found out he was even bringing it to Burning Woods later. I left for BW after the wiz, and arrived before him, where I found Alkabor. He said I was a stupid halfling (He had killed me for this at an event afew months ago), and I couldnt help him. I talked with him for awhile, showed I knew what I was doing by showing what I knew of his history. The wizard arrived, and Alkabor needed someone to help him with his experiment. Since the wizard had brought the item, he chose the wizard. The wizard got a Bag of the Tinkers with some quest items in it, and walked off with Alkabor to perform the experiment. Everyone else who had arrived was told to wait, and not follow. The wizard was somehow killed, and Alkabor said he had failed, and returned to his studies. I waited there for about five minutes, rounding up people who needed ports out, when Alkabor came back and gave me a coin to take to the Hero in FV. I got there as fast as I could. The Hero, I forget their name, shouted stuff about me being in the Hall of Heros, and I got the shield and plenty of exp. The coin had shaman/druid/cleric listed as the classes that could use, and was magic/no rent, so I suppose I could of given it to one of those classes and they could of gotten a similar reward. I realized this later, and I wouldnt of risked it anyway.
He said "What GM event did it come from?" Not that it came from the Halloween event.

Afew posts up Kornaena said that he was pretty sure it came from a Halloween event, just telling him it didnt, but the rest of my post really said that anyway.
You responded to Lupher by accident then. Either way glad you posted the event. Use paragraphs next time! Makes it easier to read ;)
Basically a less nice Dread Forged Shield for those that can't use one.
