On Rodcet Nife got Naginata for 1000p was 1500p traded away FBSS was selling for 2000p. quite a steal, using it now hitting max for 130 at level 34 and 189 strength buffed. Good damage, on the slow side but have 30% haste. Good stats, wish it had a damage dealing proc. Will use it until I save up for a reaver. Then will keep this and use this to kill what the reaver can't touch. Worth the trade. Looks like an Asian weapon a samurai would use.
Actually I've used both Black Acrylia Halbred and this weapon. I'll take the naganata over Halbred any day of the week. BAH looks pretty and the fx is nice, but I'll take ac/str/sta over a proc any day :) Anyways, does some nice dmg, hit for max 235 @ lvl 58(just dinged so not sure if 2hs maxed yet or not..) Also have CF1, best crit so far was 397. Any form of haste makes this little baby look pretty impressive. Anyways, Grats to those who have acquired and GL to all the hopefulls =)
Damage bonus are in fact level based and only melee classes aquire them, also the bonus applies only to the main hand weapon so hits below it are possible if you are duel wielding
yeah this is good and all but i really dont like how it looks being held in the hand... it looks kinda gay. I mean, its not that stylish and it's... just... ick. So i got a Black acrylia halberd. dam40 del49 magicdmg4 effect lifedraw (45dmg lifetap). I accually like this more than the worn shin thing. yeah, it has nice str and what not, but i'd really like the higher dmg and effect.
(btw, i have to say that i beleive that dmg bonus is determined by Level and Delay. When you lvl, the bonus rises. However, the weapons with the higher delay get higher Dmg bonuses. (with my 45 pally, the dmg bonus of a 49delay weap is 15ish. The bonus of a 22 delay weap is 7ish. the bonus on a weighted axe (150 delay) is 45ish.)
Also, you know that 'shoot the DVD' game/ad that you sometimes see at the top of a page? I got high score of 602 DVD's shot =) =) =)
Well I like the look - quite elegant looking compared to the big axe.
Anyway the damage bonus is the same for weapons with delay 40 and under. Weapons slower than 40 start getting progressively bigger bonuses as they get slower.
I recently got thisand all I can say is that I am very happy. My best hit at level 45 has been for 155. I see very little stamina loss in drawn out battles. I believe I will be happy with this weapon for my more levels, or untill someones want to trade me for a argent protector. :)

I met a uber twinked dwarf lvl6 i guess... and saved him from death, bandaged him and got him on his way. 10 min after he gave me a tell "Do you need a better weapom?" . The rest is history. My now 13th lvl warrior is now ubertwinked also with this awsome pigsiticka!! Just had to tell =)

Posted:Nov 12 2001 at 10:56 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I posted this weapon as a 17 SK and if they don't have a dmg bonus: 0, then the weapon does not have any kind of dmg bonus on it period, or the class in mention can't use the bonus, if the weapon does have the line of dmg bonus: 0, then that means the weapon is capable of a dmg bonus but cannot have a dmg bonus due to lvl, and thats how its works
Damage bonues is based completely on level. You recive none untill after 20 (I belive 25). The Damage bonues is not part fo the weapon. Case inpoint, take that weapon from your level 17 SK and hand it to a guildmate SK of arround 40th level and the dmage bonues will read 15 or so when he inspects it. That informs the chracter how much extra damage he/she will have with that weapon not how much extra damage the weapon its self does.
Also, the Damage Bonus is not "extra" damage... it's the base damage that you will hit with... so a damage bonus of 15 means that they will never hit for less then 15 base damage... this becomes extremely important to a dual weilding class, as lower delay becomes more damage efficient with increasing damage bonus for higher levels.
Most melee classes will not get a bonus to higher delay weapons until the delay of the weapon is greater than 40... (pally/sk get bonus to 2H though)... so a 15 30 weapon would have the same dmg bonus as a 9 18... the difference? you'd be hitting for at LEAST the base damage bonus much more with the lower delay weapon.
of course, when high level haste, damage bonus, disciplines, ratios, spell effects, buffs/debuffs are taken into account... it really becomes an impossible task to determine the value of a weapon and it's damage efficiency...

erm...ancalagon, go back and read the message you replied to. he said exactly the same thing you did. so um...thanks i guess for your wonderful insight.
I understood Ancalagon, the previous post made little sense to me. Another factor that is important in determining damage bonus is the delay of the weapon; the higher the delay the greater the damage bonus when all other things are equal.
Thanks for the tip Peterion. This would explain how the guy selling me a Blade of Xalgoz said it had a damage bonus of 3, and when I got it it didn't even have a damage bonus! I was confused hehe
Now correct me if I'm wrong but I didn't notice damage bonuses until lvl 28.
Before all this patching when a warrior got a critical hit, you could tell the difference between your actual damage done, and the critical hit. This telling you there is a damage bonus. I can't remember clearly if this was the wurmslayer I was using or the smouldering brand. Because wurmslayer has a delay of 40 its going to have 1 more point of damage higher on its damage bonus then my smouldering brand.
Crits also reflect str bonus. Pre-Nov patch, the off hand crit damage was the same as the announced damage while the main hand (the one where str counts) had a higher damage done that the announced damage. The patch fixed this.
However, the above mentioned bonus is not the one listed on the item...that is the 2hand bonus and it varies based on level and delay of item.

I have noticed that to date, you have posted on this website 41 times. Which also means you paid REAL money to do so!!! So what was it you were saying about people who post here? (err saying about YOURSELF!)
"You want the truth?? You can't handle the truth!"
Someone already posted the Bonus was +38 .... I know I am not melee class, but this weapon is SICK. What is the best ratio you can have anyways? Is there anyhting above Amazing? Also to KensaiM will you post an image? maybe a screen shot of yourself and the item? maybe Allakhazam will post both?
this weapon is really disgusting.... I love it. My G/F has an SK and I have an 11 ranger. I might try and get her one.
Yes the god Tunare drops a GODLY Petrified Heartwood Flamberge that is 50 dam 40 dely with effect snaring roots.
THAT wep is my pally/sk's DREAM weapon, problem is it will take YEARS to get it. But rest assured, I have the Strength of Grodan on my 51stlvl Pally +25 str with 41dam 50delay....and I WILL HAVE the Flamberge! ha ha ha
Look at weapons like the Palladius' Axe of Slaughter with an upgraded 51/42 ratio (and some truly sickening stats). Also, Ton Po's Bo Stick of Understanding, 44/40.
Yeah, there are some 2h weapons that actually have a higher damage than they do delay. they are classified as having goldy ratios. As far as i know there are only a few monk 2hb that have a ratio less than one, but there could be more.
Yeah, anything with the damage higher than the delay is considered godly. This is a ratio of less than 1, and there are very few weapons in the everquest world that have that kind of ratio.
My SK uses this weapon, it says his dmg bonus is 5 at lvl 28. Also I paid 2k for this weapon and yes I thought I got a good deal. The graphic alone is worth 2k imo.
At 45 all my 1 hand weapons have bonus of 6. 9/19 25/40, 13/30, 9/22, 3/18. I hit for under 6 alot. At level 53 the bonus showed 9, and hit for less than 9. I don't think the bonus applies to 1 hand weapons, just 2 hand as stated in upgrade. Think the 1hand bonus is for coding or something.
Check out the pricing data bro. Never trust the pricing figure shown on allakhazam until you check out the details. You never know what some bonehead has posted there...

You have to be 50+ to get the newly added 2hander bonus. Old rules on dmg bonus (depending on char level, weapon´s delay, str and weapon skill level) still apply.

The screenshot was probably taken by someone who either, wasn't 51+, or can't use 2hs or somesuch.
The damage bonus only shows up the same to people of the same level. Since damage bonus is so tied to the delay of the weapon, I'd wager the dmg bonus is 29 at lvl 60, as that is the dmg bonus on the SK epic, with delay of 45.
Actually, if the person isn't that high of lvl, the line that says "dmg bonus" wouldn't even be on the item. I know this for a fact as I have both a lvl 45 War, and a 21 War.
