Few side notes. It does still work in duels and you can also use it on mercs of the person you are dueling. You can use it on yourself as well. I can get 2 total casts off with it before the reuse timer on my Solt chest is even refreshed. You can use in conjunction with the Solt/TSS chest as well as Anguish chest. As long as the item's spell name is not the same like in TSS/Solt you can use them on their own timers. There is no reuse timer on Abashi.
Something to keep an eye for when Fighting Vulak if you wanna get your hopes up on what items he has. He will use the weapon he has to melee with you so if its a axe or sword you will see "He slashes you" if its Abashi " He crushes you " Gharns " He punches you ". You can also work up Disarm on him and see if he has a weapon. He can drop more then 1 weapon at once i saw this twice. So don't give up just based on how he hits you.
Also just had this drop on cazic on 7/9/09

On a personal note, I'd love to whack stuff with this.

Class: MNK NEC BST
Effect: Abolish Enchantment (Casting Time: 3.0)
Required Level: 55
(Forthoffer retired from EQ/Lanys, as a 65/155 cleric with effectively GM in all standard tradeskills)
First off the effect is a Right Click 4 slot Dispell on the stick.
Second, old school pumice stones were insta cast and cast Pillage enhancement.
Abashi use to be a PVP Necro back in the day. He thought he was so badass and coule beat anyone in a duel. One day a Wizard said he could smoke any Necro, and he certainly could. Abashi questioned the wizard asking him Ok, hotshot how? The wizard replied easily, I'll just root your pet nuke you and pumice off your dots.
Abashi couldn't believe it would be that easy to beat a Necro in PvP. As Abashi was working for Verant, the next patch Pumice Stones had been nerfed to Nullify Magic (2slot debuff). On top of that it was changed so that Poison, Disease dots could not be pumiced off.
So this 2hander is very obviously a Monk weapon. Necro was put on the wep to finish the punchline.

Lets see who should get this.
Stats:
Both could use them but; there are more melee stats there than caster stats. The only one a necro could really use is INT. The rest would help him, but think how many time a necro is sent to beat a mob at melee range? Never. True, the necro can use the str to carry more stuff, the sta to have more hps to live longer and leach him/her self more, agi for more ac and dex to fizel less. But honestly, at the lvl will be weilding 2 items that would give them better stats than just carrying this staff.
Resists:
Obviously everyone needs resists, can't question that. But again, the necro will porbably benefit more from weilding 2 items.
Damage Ratio:
This is a weapon, that means it is intended to do damage. I'm the hands of a necro, it would totaly go to waste. Just think how many times a necro would hit a lvl 60 mob with a 2hb skill of 110? (that's the necro's cap for the 2hb skill, monks cap 2hb at 252). No only the dmg dealing capacity of this weapon would go to waste, but also the nice proc. If you hit a mob less times, you're going to get less procs out of it.
At this lvl of gameplay, necros have better stuff they can wield on both hands (their epic alone has more INT on it and about the same resist and it is a one hand item). But for monks, this is one of the best if not the best 2hb you can get.
I not saying that necros should not roll for this weapon, but if you look at it logically, I really doubt the raid leader, or even the necros there, would not give this weapon to a monk.
My 2cp.
PD: I love the story behind the name of this weapon btw. :)

Monks probably wouldn't be allowed to use this in most groups, but it'd make a nice solo weapon.

Calculate that out that's 30 / (1 + 1.05) = 30/2.05 = 14.63, round up = 15. So this weapon is essentially, in the hands of any monk capable of getting this, 40/15. Reading what is said down below my post by other people, monks can hit for 200-250 easily with this, triple attack, so that's 600-750 dmg every 1.5 seconds (if they triple attack and hit max all three times which is highly unlikely.) In reality, it's still couple hundred damage every 1.5 seconds. So, unless the monk is very smart (which every Vulak-capable monk is) you'll end up with a monk smear on the ground.
You know you luv me.

Well necros always complaining about getting nerfed and if no monk wants this item hell let the necro have it because I think vismajor gave it to a young halfling maybe not
It probably indintifies as Abash's Nerf bat
Necros had so many nerfs made all at once that the system shock almost wiped them out. Monks spent 2 years saying "FD is broken" "FD is broken" "umm.. FD is broken"
Who says some of the desginers don't have a sense of humour =)
A monk, however, would benefit from the ungodly ratio, the str, the dex, the sta, the agi, the hp, the resists, and the proc to pull with. The only thing he wouldn't benefit from would be the mana and int. Much better suited for a monk, though I do see why they put necro on there (seeing as how Abashi always played a necro.)
So, monks, this is one that I don't think anybody would flame you for saying 'MONK ITEM' - because it is just that but it's so blatantly obvious you'd probably get flamed for saying the obvious.
They gave it to a fricken level 5 halfling NPC...ouch

Now, for some EDUCATION. Knowledge is power, my friends.
1) This is most certainly real.
2) Please refer to http://vismaior.net/nwing/index.html before you begin typing any more mindless drivel. These items are *gasp* all real. They drop every day, on every server, by the hundreds. I'm sorry if you cannot comprehend the fact that people don't use suit up in rygorr armor and SSoY's to kill dragons with the better part of 1 million HP that can drop even fully buffed warriors in less time than it takes to type "tanking.. HEALS!".
3) The effect on it is NOT a proc. It does NOT harm you. It it a right click, 200 range dispell. It happens to be an outstanding item for pulling.
4) In case you were wondering, it also happens to be the overall most damage weapon setup that a monk can use... barring extremely high AC NToV nameds. (In which case gharn's rock w/ fist of lightning offhand would outdamage it)
If this post helps raise at least one person out of the pitiful depths of ignorance, then I've done well for today.

Thanks for the info on the loot table, very comprehensive. Nice to see everything organized in such a manner.
For the other 2 who replied- take a joke. He has a good point... and if you consider what he said an insult to anyone or this site- remain ignorant for all anyone cares. And enjoy those ykeshas :p. I applaud him for giving the community this information.

I'm not insulting the site itself, the people who run this do a great job and put together a good source of information. Unfortunately they cannot control the type of people who access (and subsequently comment on) this information. Most people wouldn't think of themselves as an expert on military tactics unless they either A) were in the military or B) read a great deal on the subject. Same thing goes for the high end game in EQ... you have a ton of newbies, lowbies, and uninformed/ebayed high level people spouting total BS every chance they get. If you've never even seen the inside of ToV and have never taken the time to at least read up on some ACCURATE info, then I have to make an open offer to kindly keep your ignorant mouths shut.
The best thing I ever did in EQ was attain level 60 and distance myself from most of the newbies. Out of sight, out of mind. =)
take that to your monk shrine.
* I also think its bad ass that someone from old school shared that story, it makes it more then just a game... :) very cool *

with that said, assuming its real, monks would *not* use this, and necros would *not* use this.
if anything its more of a gag item.
this is why
monks primal velium fists or what ever they are called are 15/20 or something similair with stats to everything and avatar proc. adding both fists damage together with have a 30/20 damage weapon with excellent stats. remember, speed is essence in uber encounters, because you miss alot, and hit for extremely low damage alot, the reason almost all monks abandon 2hb. dont say that not everyone has primal velium war fists, anyone in a guild who gets this item is going to have those fists or better.
necros would not use this because the stats suck compared to what they could possibly weild, seeing as they wont be meleeing by the time they get this.
