Desiccated Halfling Mask  

 

The good news is I got the mask. The bad news is I had to clear the path to this guy with my lvl 80 for my lvl 50 bard. Its DEEP in Chardok. Basically there are 2 placeholders for the Overseer. One is called Scarred the other is called Veteran. In my personal exerience all three had a equal chance of spawning (About 33%). This is good news because it would have really sucked if the Overseer had been a ultra rare spawn, for me he was not. Now the bad news, I am positive this mask is a 1% drop rate. I got very lucky however and on the 23rd hour of camping him he dropped the mask for my very happy bard. Yes it still drops, hope this helps someone take care ).

I've read a few rumors this thing was taken out of the game. It definitely has not been removed.

I went down to the Overseer's spawn point, killed the PH. He popped after and dropped the mask. I was ready to camp this guy for a few days based on previous posts, but I lucked out and he dropped it first kill. The loc on the Overseer's page and is accurate, 420, 165, -302. PH are non-named overseer's.

dropped July 15th 2011, don't give up, took me a long time

Hey guys did this camp twice. I am on al'kabor the Mac server but it is the same drop rate.

It is now 1 week and a total of 120 hours I have been camping. (8 -12 hours)a day.

I have had 15 Cloaks
5 Signet rings
plethora of spells
Maybe 40 Daggers
zero mask :(

over 2 weeks now on and off 2-10 hours per day , 6-10 named a day..
I wanna shoot myself in the face with a steamwork compound bow.
does this item still drop? is sony playing some horrible prank on me?
or have a half dozen other lucky fools come in after i logged for the night and got it the next spawn lol... i dunno but ima keep on camping this awhile longer before giving up..

Took almost a whole week but finally dropped on bertoxx server, im one happy halfling now :D

Some advice, stay close to his spawn point when fighting him, if you move to the left the skellies add, and to the right the other sarnaks.
Lvl 71 rogue with elaborate, and cleric merc can easily do this alone.

After many, many camps, I finally got the mask today on Povar. The below spawns were always 20 minutes apart. Also, the first spawn was immediately after a server reset.

7am Overseer was up when I arrived. Dropped dagger. (Was holding a dagger).
PH Scarred.
PH Scarred.
PH Veteran.
Overseer. Dropped dagger. (Was holding a dagger).
PH Veteran.
PH Veteran.
PH Veteran.
Overseer. Dropped ring. (Nothing in hands).
PH Scarred.
Overseer. Dropped mask. (Nothing in hands).

In previous camps I have seen him, rarely, holding both the dagger and the sword (Sarnak Skullsplitter, not yet updated as a drop). Always dropping both. Those are the only times I have seen him drop more than one loot. (Not counting misc. spells and vendor trash).

Good luck to you all in getting this rare prize!

Mask dropped today (third day of camping it) at approximately 9:15 p.m., so it does still drop, just very rare. Be sure to set up a console game or marathon movie session nearby to have something else to do in between pops.

Just dropped mask 3 mins ago after killing 1 yes 1 PH . Dropped on first named. Total Camp time 25 mins. Kill him at SP after letting Pather pass by, Backstab, Duelist Disc, and Spine Rend poison for snare. Drop in 45 seconds , maybe less..Good luck

This is a very boring camp. Luckily, with an egg timer, and killing the roamer until he doesn't see invis any more, you can do whatever you want for the 19 minute 30 second respawn timer.

Drop rates:

About 16 hours into the camp, he dropped both the dagger and the SS, giving the more than 100% drop rate.

Total time spent: 30 hours


It is clickable from inventory for at least an appropriate class.

21 mobs later a mask droped for my 71 bst(started max ally went to warmly), loged my 66 bard on who was camped out in the hall, looted and gated with no argo issues. So glad they added that LoN card game lol. my spawns were...

My rogue was not able to solo this camp yet. Level 59 and most mobs in the area are dark blue. With adds nearby and mobs running on low health I opted to camp it with a higher level alt.

First I took my rogue to Frontier Mountains and killed goblins in the caves with the iksar slaves near Burning Woods for several hours. Collect all the green goblin skin and mt. death mineral salts as they drop, the turn ins for those are bigger faction hits than the gobbie kills. After several hours of killing and collecting you can head to Chardok and turn in all the skins and salts to the Herald at the entrance. You should now be non-KoS in Chardok.

NOTE: when Chardok was a hotzone they added new named spawns that are not on Chardok faction. These new named are very low level compared to the mobs they wander near and will always attack you. However the local chardok mobs will not social assist so deal with the new named as you see fit.

Now that my rogue could waltz through Chardok at will, I parked him by Overseer spawn. Then I brought my 63 Druid down to farm the named. I was able to invis most of the way to camp on my druid, only stopping a couple times to kill an undead or see invis mob. I believe any mob in Chardok has a chance to spawn as a see invis mob, so the trip may not be the same each time you go.

Once at Overseer spawn point with 63 Druid, all mobs nearby are light blue. This spawn point is just outside of assist range of several mobs nearby. You can park right in front of spawn and just kill it right there as long as you have the HP and dps, but root or snare or chain stun will sure help avoid adds when he starts walking away at 20% hp.

There are two mobs that roam past the Overseer spawn point. One can be one of the new hotzone named, Sarnak Investigator (very low level, gray con to 63), the other usually is Sarnak Breedmaster. You can wait until they roam out of range or keep them killed between spawns. They can also spawn as see invis (at least the Breedmaster can) so it's up to you to decide if you want to keep them killed or not. Sometimes better to leave the non see invis mobs up and let them roam past before killing Overseer, that way no worries about surprise see invis pops later.

So now that I have my rogue chardok faction and I know the way to camp from zonein, I was able to start serious farming.

Day 3, 14 hours total camp time, 6th Overseer Dal'gurr spawn drops the mask!!!

Happy, bouncy druid logs off to switch to rogue to pick it up, and ... WHY IS MY ROGUE IN BAZAAR?!?!?! OMFG when did I move him and and and ... ARGH. Run to PoK and /ooc Emergency SoE and port to Skyfire Mtns PLEASE!!!! Wait 3 seconds before chugging SoW potion and running my arse to Chardok as fast as I could. Thank goodness for the 30 minute rot timer on these mobs. That was without a doubt the most stressful run across Kunark I've ever had. If I hadn't worked up my Chardok faction on rogue I never would have been able to sneak / clear my way to camp in time to loot mask.

Man... Reading all of the other posts and seeing how rare this actually is makes me not want to even bother with it. Thanks for adding all of your input on it though. Those who got it must have a lot of patience, or a lot of luck in the case of the guy who got two of them in four kills. :P

got it took 14 hours but i did it he didn't have anything in his hand that could be key don't know goin to wait for one more pop could drop another for my rog =D

Been campin this for around 2 days now with my 70 war, bard camped out close by..Its definetly not difficult at all just a pain since he rarely spawns and when he does your let down with his non-mask loots! Hopefully he will drop it soon. To anyone who is looking to camp this, just try not to get adds as sometimes him and PHs will walk either left or right and that could be potential trouble for someone with not many hps.

I probably averaged about 15 kills a day for two weeks, only a sporadic additional camper here and there but I was on good terms with them. They had no luck. This morning a friend of mine, Noxia, was camping it for an hour or so, I popped in and he logged. Second kill was named + mask.

I was beginnging to think it was never going to drop. True this camp is a night mare, but I've sat through Stormfeather and you have to be on constant watch for that one and it is worse. I've tried for Quillmane and without an AE Train, the 78 second thing doesn't work...and so no Quilmane. I've done Stanos'head. I've done every tradeskill out there and the earring. I've done Secrets of the Planes, VT, bane weaponry, Ssra comm camps, etc etc etc. My point being, this wasn't that bad. It isn't something to cry about.

camped this mob for 2 ~3 hr

got 2 nameds , 1 cloak + 1 mask

got only 2 veteran while everything else was scarred

as a lv 70 bard, i just sat/stand at the spawn point and waited to the mob to spawn

as far as i can tell, no roamer was there and the mobs didnt add as long as i just stood at spawn point

you can move around a little but i wouldnt recommend it cause getting adds suck

i feel really bad for the people who camped this thing 5hr+ :(

I camped him with my rogue yesterday and got the mask after about 9 hours there; a boring camp but I'm grateful it didn't take longer!

Been camping this on and off for quite some time now and finally it dropped! Glad it's easily soloable, would've hated to drag anyone else but a rogue there.
