Timeburn?

Could someone explain to me why you would ever want the duration of a spell you cast to be reduced? Does it retain the number of times a DoT fires, thus reducing the time between DoT effects? I'm sure there must be some type of benefit to this, but I can't seem to figure it out today.

This does indeed increase the length of the spell, not the casting time. For example as a Necromancer you cast a Dot that does 20 Ticks in 2 mins. 20% of so is 4 so your Dot will now fire 24 times once ever tick(6 Secs) instead of 20, Thus increase the duration of this detrimental spell.

As I see it the effect says it INCREASES the spell duration by 20% meaning that a 2 minute duration DOT would last 20% longer thus increasing the amount of damage output that the spell does. I'm not a caster myself so I could be wrong but that's just my Smiley: twocents

It increases detrimental spell duration by 20%, useful for enchanters in that it increases the duration of mez, tash, slow etc also. The AE versions of Mez and Tash are not affected by this focus item, nor are any mez effects shorter than 24secs (ie Morell).
