It's used in the tradeskill advancement route introduced with the new cultural recipes. The templates made by this silk cannot be used further, but making them still makes sense as it's an alternate skillup route (trivial on the templates is 234-255).

Off any of the usual trash mobs - occultists, pugilists, servants, etc.
I know for sure it drops off the pugilists and Deadly Dreamweavers.

Additionally drops from a mountain puma in Blackfeather Roost
Any ideas what this is used for? I had two drop for me last night in Griegs End off of Tormented Pugilist.
These are dropping all the time for Tormented Pugilist in Grieg's end. I now have a stack of them.
