I have been hunting in the north-east highland kobold camp for a few weeks, and have found two of these so far. They drop from the only named kobold I have seen in the camp. The name is something like Agar the Terrible --- something like that. Next time I see him spawn I will note the name.

The named highland kobold is Arglar the Tormentor. He is a rare spawn and he does not drop the dirk every time.
The kobolds in this camp drop alot of wicker armor and weapons worth 2 pp to 5pp a piece. Nice place to solo and earn from 40 to 75pp an hour if you can harmony the camp.

I believe Hurglak the Destroyer drops this. Im positive it was a named kobold from the highland camp north of the cat city. Not sure if it was this kobold though. And if that price is correct, doh, I sold it real cheap.

I was the one to post this item and can verify this does go in a range slot.
Not the best of weapons, but not bad either for a twink/newbie rogue, that doesn't have tons of plat.
And please nobody say "so and such weapon is better". Well, no crap, no matter what you post on here, there's almost ALWAYS something better!
And NO this is not a monk item ;)

i see some use in it for the range slot... and since there's a lot of new items in a free zone you can't expect the best of everything. they gotta' have stuff that sucks as well as good stuff or else everything would be good. and then that good stuff would be called **** cuz it wouldn't be as good as the better stuff..therefore....isn't everything really good? hehe, late

Even if something doesn't list Range as a usable slot it can be loaded in that slot if it has an actual range listed (as this dirk does **range:40**)
I'm not sure what drops this, but assuming something mid 20s to low 30's I would say this is a nice item for a Rogues range slot. Haven't played a rogue much I can't be sure there isn't something better at that level, but 2 ac and 4 dex seem pretty nice to me :)

I think the mob that drops it is level 25. It is blue to level 27, and if I remember right was blue at level 26. However, it is in a camp of levels 24 to 28, and hard to pull just him.
