Its worth noting that making the color satchels would end up costing > 200 pp and also some farmed items. They appear to have no stats difference with regular bags, so they are for the truly discriminating and well-funded trader.
What good is it?

What good is a trader's satchel if it cannot be given to one's trader? Most of us advance our mains in skills but not our traders, so we would make the bags with our mains and give them to our dedicated trader. We don't use our mains for traders.

So is it usable by traders in the bazaar in place of the vendor satchels or is it for tradeskill items?

All the coloured trading satchels were added to the game 2012. No one has posted about any of them until you just did.

With handmade backpacks, the addition of multiple colours was to let players sort their stuff in banks better.

I'm willing to assume that a trader's Satchel is usable for selling in baz, no matter the colour, but anyone can feel free to correct that assumption.
