Heres a better idea. Instead of camping 18 named mobs in three different zones go to Field of Scale and camp an Ancient Bonegrinder and get Bonegrinder's Bauble. Thats a 25 AC 100 HP 100 Mana 7/8 type aug.

While that's all fine, well and good, the Bonegrinder's Bauble has a req lvl of 80. Whereas, this aug only has a req lvl of 60. The selection of augs with these kinds of stats at lvl 60 is slim, at best.
You must keep in mind, that not everyone desires to shoot to the highest level of the game. So, augs like this are worth the effort if you are one of those players.
This aug is even more powerful than Bonegrinder's Bauble for casters (probably other classes as well). Main reason? This can go into Primary (since even most groupers have thier epics) OR Range slots. There are few augs in the game which are groupable that can go into those slots. I got tired of camping the zonewide rare out of FC, so I am doing this quest.
1 ac = 10 hp ( non shield ac ) 1 avoid = 60 hp 1 shielding = 80hp
This means, 1 avoid = 6ac, and 1 shielding = 8 ac.
so for this aug, 10ac = 10ac 100hp = 10ac 1 shield = 8 ac 5 avoid = 30ac
So the defensive benefit of this aug is equivalent to a 30+10+10+8 = 58 ac aug.
A 58 ac aug is not a crappy aug, for a tank.
Avoidance is capped at 100, and shielding at 35, so this is only true if your not at or close to the cap. A fully crystallos equiped war ( from squires, not raid instance ) and fully equiped with Martial terrasteel, and epic 2.0, will have about 66 avoidance and 25 shielding ( assuming no avoidance or shielding augs, just hp or ac augs ). So this aug makes some sense.
But the much higher avoidance augs make more sense: Diamond studded coldain historical seal at 15 avoid ( 90 ac equivalent just from the avoidance! ) or the amethyst shard of relic ( also at 15 avoidance ). And both are much easier to get, I believe.
I follow a similar formula for choosing upgrades. 1 shielding = 10 avoidance = 15 ac = 90 hp
It worked pretty well.

FYI you cannot equate avoidance into melee mitigation. ac=melee mitigation lessoning the amount you are hit for. avoidance is the chance to avoide a melee attack all together.
So far after finshing Verg and Being through 5 of the pieces from Direwind...the Carrionmancer Marrowroot so far has been the longest camp for me, clearing the gnolls and golems and the piles of carrion, 6 hours in this camp today and 5 yesterday and no Marrowroot.
I tried patching all the information together in one post, which can be found at http://crucible.samanna.net/viewtopic.php?t=3446 . Requires you to camp a total of 18 named mobs in Vergalid, Direwind and Ashengate, so if you want this, there's work ahead of ya.
