Lvl 30 quest
# Mar 27 2002 at 12:49 PM Rating: Good
What cracks me up about this is all the people out there saying "I wouldn't use this weapon... I could get a_uber_weapon00 instead, and it's much better." Well of course it is... a_uber_weapon00 doesn't come from a level 30 quest. For something intended to be a low-mid level weapon, this is actually somewhat nice, and as some of the higher levels have pointed out, it's something that you CAN find a use for on raids... at least until you get your epic (which in MOST guilds is a looooong wait for druids).

About how much would this cost?

What I like about this weapon is the low delay and the resist. Damage really means nothing to a druid since what damage we do is laughable compared to a melee fighter. I have found that with a lower delay we can interrupt casters and save members from getting nuked as often, which means less heals for us to have to do.
In wolf form the damage goes up by one and we have a quicker attacks which makes it even better.
I would love to have this weapon.

As a person who's played a high level druid, I'd use this weapon for the resists. The 9 wisdom you can get from a Paw is only 90 mana, and chances are, you won't need that mana in the raids where resists and HP are all that count.

To the person who said "you have spells for resists," go against a dragon without resist gear. ;)

#REDACTED, Posted: Sep 05 2001 at 7:26 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This is a nice item for a lower druid who still might melee, but I would not use this if I could get my hands on something better like a Velium Etched Stone Mace 7/22 str 3 wis 3. I'll take increased Wis any day over the little resistance this sword adds. Besides, you have the resist disease, poison, cold, fire, endure magic line of spells that adds 40 if I remember right to all but magic, wich adds 20.

like unnamedone said, resists on your clothes is all that matters because in raids, uber mobs have aoe dispells. thats why bards are so desired in uber raid obsessed guilds... their buffs are only dispelled when the bard dies...

Short of the epic, this would be one of the better melee resist items for druids. I would seriously consider getting this item for PvP, if I wasn't fairly close to getting the druid epic. But then on Rallos, we always do put a lot more emphasis on resists. As someone else also posted, when you are fighting dragons, they often dispell repeatedly, so your spell resists for fire, cold, poison, magic, and disease will get removed fairly easily. As far as PvP goes, I had someone burn an entire old-style pumice on me the other day, dispelling 10 buffs in less than one second, so again the resist items come in handy. (Amazing those old-style insta-cast pumices are still around, but I hear they exploit them pretty bad)

One question though: are the droppable components for this part of the trivial code, or can this still be done at high levels?

There are 3 "Spirit Stones" you need to get for this, Valley, Jungle and Mountain. Yes, these are magic items so they ARE part of the Trivial Loot Code.

The good thing is they are NOT Lore and NOT NoDrop so you can just go in zone and auction to buy them if you are too high to hunt the spiritlings.

My 25 Ranger on Quellious already has a nice collection of 5 Valley and 2 Jungle stones. No Mountain Stones yet, those things are 25+ and a hard fight solo. No one wants to group with a ranger running all over the zone hunting Spiritlings.

and the stones are no longer under the TLC rules due to last patch.

You don't NEED to get those stones. They are only required for finishing the quest.

Combining the hammer and the faded or crystallized shadow weapon/armor is a step in the process earlier on in the quest before the spiritling stone part.
Hmmm interesting

Anyone notice that once you "purify" these weapons, SK can no longer use them?

SK hands items in to solve quest.
Gets the purified item back trieds to wield it ....

I would definately put this on a druid. Its great for resists and truly who cares if you need to attack with it really as a druid.
Svs

The ratio is good, though not good as I could have for my warrior at level 30.. But I might get this for the Svs, either via questing or buying once the price drops from 2k (yes, saw for 2kpp ["NEW ITEM!!!!"] in EC). I was just in Stonebrunt, and although the zone itself didn't appeal to me much, these new quests (haste items, +svs, etc) I might hafta get a map and go check it out yet again.. ;)
