I just did a search of all Necklaces at this day and Age and sorted first by AC, then amazed sorted by HP's, then further amazed sorted by Saves. In all categories this necklace is the Number 2 BEST wearable necklace pre-PLane of TIME for most every melee class INCLUDING the Warrior. The number one being of course the Talisman of Vah Kerrath which is quite actually 5x's harder to get. Vulak is only time consuming to a good PoP guild that can drop Notables such as Bertox, Rydda Dar, and Mithaniel Marr. Going through everything to get VT keyed, mowing through 80% of the zone where you kill one mob and another spawns from it, and finally getting to kill Atenha Ra and he drops ONE quest bit... per week... *groan* (Thank GOD he drops amazing other things!) makes this a fantastic item and, relatively (vs Time and ToVK) easy to get. And this is over 2 year old now! I stand amazed...

Question on lvl req
# Aug 18 2002 at 4:11 AM Rating: Decent
If I lvled a character to lv 60 killed a lot of dragons and quest for really nice items such as this nice peice, Would I be able to delevel to like 45 and still have all the nice stats? If it wouldn't would there be any that I could use.
RE: Question on lvl req
# Oct 09 2003 at 9:08 AM Rating: Decent
Canida, it sounds to me more like you have a level 45 toon and wonder what neck slot you should be wearing. Id tell you the best buyable and nodrop item and or items for you level and class but I only play an SK. Furthermore if you somehow got a level 45 into NToV and lived long enough to see this item drop (and that wont happen), yes it would have full stats as it has no level recomendations or reqiurements. WHy did I post this...I dont know im drinking rum tonight....
RE: Question on lvl req
# Oct 24 2002 at 5:59 PM Rating: Decent
some equipment (ie nearly everything from CT) means you have to be level 51 minimum to use it.

VT loot requires level 60.

Maybe with PoP there will be items that require 65, who knows?

So i wouldnt say its a good idea to delevel to 45.

You would keep the good stats on some items, but as you delvel, you get less mana and HP per int and stamina point so you will still lose out.

Putting a Focus effect on an item from Vulak who doesn't spawn anymore -- how cruel.

Vulak still exist, just gotta do this long quest called the "Ring of Vulak", check the Afterlife website, they have the pics for it. Looks like a long *** quest to do, would be nice to see a guild to do that in my server. Regardless of who they be.

obviously a hybrid item.

# Jun 07 2002 at 11:32 AM Rating: Decent
As a cleric that owns this item, all I can say is I am sooooo happy I didn't listen to ANYONE about who should use the item. As someone said, its a darn nice BP to wear on your neck. Now with its effect, I am all the more happier :)
New Effect...
# Jun 07 2002 at 10:37 AM Rating: Decent
The newest effect is "Spell Haste 3", which almost guarentees that it will be awarded to a Caster or Hybrid. (+15% haste on all spells cast! excluding CH, DA and spells under 3 secs)
#REDACTED, Posted: May 24 2002 at 11:46 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) 1) In your gaming time you will NEVER EVER EVER GET THESE OR ANY VULAK LOOT!! Why? Because he is bugged now
RE: Omfg
# Jun 06 2002 at 3:54 PM Rating: Decent
With the new effect of Extended Enhancement III on this, it could easily benefit casters. Adding 15 percent to a mez may not seem like much, but how many times has a chanter needed just 1 or 2 more seconds to get that remez cast?

Edited: disregard. The effect on this was changed.

Does anyone notice that not one of the EE3 items have Wisdom on them? Not only that but only 2 of them are Shammie usable...

If i only had a dime for every time i read the words i will
# Jan 15 2002 at 9:18 PM Rating: Decent
if only i got a dime for every time i read someone stating that they will probably never see thies items, i have read at least one string per vullak item stating that. I guese we are all entitelled to gauk and drool at these things but you don't have to say it. It's like saying look ma i can drool at uber gear just like every one else, isnt that new.(the mother in return says no dear, you have been drooling for quite some time, the uber gear just made you drool more than normal.)

and now it is time for me to be the super hippicrit i am.

WOW! this gear is really awsome!! I bet i will never even get to see it!! derhuck.

well i am done spamming and i look forward to seeing the creative ways you all intend to flame on me.

singed,..... the anonymus dude on the other side of the zone that is shouting rude comments and is at the same time complain'n about not being able to find a group.

P.S. i would like to ask how much loot does vullak drop per kill, there are a ton of items credited to him, and i was wondering if that was due to him haveing huge drops or if tons of uber guilds have alreaddy taken him down.

Nice item
# Sep 06 2001 at 8:53 AM Rating: Default
Once again, I will reiterate, all all items are just that. All all. But, I would have to say this item in particular is melee oriented, and I personally would pass on this roll. I think it would be best on rogues and monks.
RE: Nice item
# Sep 07 2001 at 12:24 PM Rating: Decent
I would tend to agree. However, I'd definitely ditch my +8 STR/INT necklace for this. :)
#Anonymous, Posted: Sep 06 2001 at 7:11 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Definitively a monk item.. look at the weight !

OOOOOOOO 0.0wt YET AGAIN!!! MY GOD!!!

sorry for the sarcasm... but honestly, the whole wt thing is blown out of proportion. all these nonsense posts claiming items for monks... get a life. however, it is great for all melee classes, and excellent resist gear for anyone.

I hate saying that schandsuch and item is Monk, or Warrior, or whatever. This makes me think that you are soloing this guy and that teamwork is not considered when you divide loot.

At the level needed to take this guy down, you are most definitely in a group. Consider the teamwork you needed to get here.

My guild has been having long talks about resist gear and getting the XP needed to take ToV. We're almost to UBER status. Being a druid, I'm most likely never even going to be considered for this roll. This all said, I would assume that if this dropped, it would go to someone on the pull teams we use. Not necessarily our monk, or our tanks, or our rougues, but the person who needs it the most. Hell, it may go to our chanter if they need it more than the tanks.

The point being that people need to stop arguing over *WHO* should get the item, and *HOW* you are going to get it in the first place. Decide later who will most benefit from the drops - it may not even be your first string of people.
Woot

Woot, love for the chanter..
very nice necklace - when int and charisma is maxed out espeicially =)
RE: Woot
# Sep 08 2001 at 2:37 AM Rating: Decent
This is a very good point, not everything with str and ac are for tanks, this would be great for everyone, and an enchanter the hps and ac would help me out when i'm pulling or running crowd control, and the str is nice when you need to carry extra gear, like when i smith, resists are very nice to boot. Would I roll for this, prob not, since most of the tanks i know can really use gear like this, ofcourse, once I get with a group of people that can take this mob, gear like the prob. helps everyone just as much. SO like someone else said, all/all means just that!

I love these uber items. Granted I will most likely never get one, but I like the fact that some get their well deserved rewards.

Valtron was the lead GM of the EMarr server for quite a while. I believe he moved on to bigger and better things at Verant/SOE. From everything I've heard he was a great guy. Several of my friends had direct interaction with him and thought he was great. He also passed out bottles of "Valtron's Finest" :)

This is one of the items in the GM series.

Valtron was (or is) a GM, though I can't remember which server. Seems like I remember him on emarr, but I thought he was one of the really big head hanchos that could shift servers.

Anyone remember good/bad stuff about Valtron?

Yeah lead Gm on Erollisi. I believe his name was Semiramis at first, and he changed due to a conflict with a player using the same name. Valtron the Wise. great guy.
Wonder indeed

I wonder if this necklace is the size of a breastplate since it has stats like one (a very good one at that).
I wonder how often Vulak'Aeeer is getting killed.
I wonder how long it'll be before Vu-vu gets an upgrade/nerf putting it even further out of my reach (ok I'm a mage so I'll never ever get this item but I meant killing Vu-vu further out of my reach.)
I wonder why I don't just go to bed so I can get up bright and fresh for another day of chemistry tomorrow.

I don't think you have to worry too much about Vulak'Aerr getting nerfed. He's easily one of the most difficult opponents in the entire game at the moment, and requires the killing of every dragon in the north wing of ToV before you can even attempt him. All things considered, a nerf that makes him harder would be like them saying that the Avatar of War was too trivial and then nerfing the ability to charm giants in Kael... oh wait...

First of all, I just want to say that this necklace is amazing, especially for any melee character. I long for the day when I will lose a roll on one of these heh heh. Allakhazam, just wanna say that this site is consistently one of the best Everquest sites on the net... thanks for giving us such a great tool to supplement our addiction.
