Well, it looks like the super-easy Greenhouse missions actually do build faction!

I've done Herb Retrieval 20 times, The Serpent Slayer 17 times and a smattering of Thal/Atiiki missions (for a total of 501 Orux) and just hit Kindly.

Takes about 2500 Orum worth of missions to get to ally faction.

Tested this by just doing the Coral mission and no other faction mission except the first portal. Hit ally after 100th mission, and each mission was worth 25 orum.

Have heard people say that faction remains constant even when orum reward changes but who knows.

Good Luck

you are right, i see Rashere's post now:

The scaling affects any reward that makes sense to scale. Essentially, anything where the norm is to give out many of them. It affects faction, experience, points, etc. It doesn't affect things like items, though, which have no inherent way to scale.

There are caps on the minimum and maximum that a mission can scale to so you won't see missions dropping away to nothing.

sorry for posting the incorrect info... here is the info that i could find..

(table based off average popularity group missions.. 40 orux or so)
ORUX EARNED < == > FACTION
0[orux] - 199(faction) --> Apprehensive
200[orux] - 399[faction] --> Indifferent
400[orux] - 1099[faction] --> Amiable
1100[orux] - 1699[faction] --> Kindly
1700[orux] - 2399[faction] --> Warmly
2400[orux] + --> Ally(faction)

These are the numbers that I have posted. I tracked many peoples orum progress and found these to be as accurate as you are going to get.

Higher orum missions are believed to give slightly better faction and bottomed out missions are believed to get slightly less. For this reason, someone who farmed nothing but 80 orux missions might hit ally at closer to 2200[orux] and someone who does nothing but 25 orux missions will hit it at closer to 2500[orux].

on average, 2 orux = 1 faction point, because to go from appre to indiff = 100 faction points, on average most players had 200 orux or so when reaching apprehensive.

2500(orux) / 25 = 100 missions to get to ally
bottomed out group tasks = 1200 / 100 = approx 12 FAC PTS

2200(orux) / 80 = 27.5 missions to ally
Topped out group tasks = 1200approx 43 FAC PTS

apprehensive to ally = approx 2400 orux, or 1200 fac pts, # of missions depends which ones you do !

conclusion:
the faction points you earn for a mission is the amount of orux divided by 2 (rounded down). if you are doing a mission for 50 orux, it is worth 25 faction points. Solo Missions are always worth 10 faction points.

here is the faction table (note that this is different than the table at the top of this post, which displays how much orux you should have when you reach that faction level)
Quote:

Generic Faction Levels
-2000 to -751 ...scowls at you, ready to attack
-750 to -501 ...glares at you threateningly
-500 to -101 ...glowers at you dubiously
-100 to -1 ...looks your way apprehensively (100)

0 to 99 ...regards you indifferently (100)

100 to 499 ...judges you amiably (400)
500 to 749 ...kindly considers you (250)
750 to 1099 ...looks upon you warmly (350)
1100 to ~2000 ...Ally faction

TO GO FROM APP TO ALLY = 1200 FAC POINTS

BUT all this aside.. herb retrival is a Solo mission, and I Don't think the faction on solo missions ever changes? I did library heist a ton and each time it was exactly 10 faction points, i counted how many times it took to jump from each faction level and it checked out correctly. So unless they changed the way solo missions work when they nerfed library heist, this task should always give 10 faction points no matter how popular it is.

How did you count faction points? Rough guess with Orum or do you have a system of some kind?

solo missions = 10 faction points always (for katta solo missions at least)

group missions , faction reward = orux reward divded by two, rounded down (example: a mission with a reward of 41 orux will net a reward of 20 faction points)

that is the system i use and as far as i know it still is correct unless the combine empire merchant faction has been changed recently, i havent been playing as often as i used to

400+ mana on this chest when using an ethereal powersource, pretty nice. The shadow powersource is nice as well, and the elemental powersource. the sources were designed so you can swap them out as different circumstances call for different stats / resists, etc.

Ok the aug types on this...

1 & 2... Is that an attempt to bring ldon's back? Or are there type 1 and 2 augs being added in with TBS?

13... Is this going to be a possible slot added in for Bazu augs or what?

My understanding of the Energiac armor is that, it only has one visible slot when viewed in game. On this piece, that would be the type 7. The item analyzer is reading hidden slots, which are used along with the energiac battery, to add additional stats to the armor, on a temporary basis.

The item displays should now be showing the correct slots. The "Slot 13" exists in game. The previously shown Slots 1 and 2 exist, but are invisible in game (these are only for powersources and should not be displayed here any more).

has anyone found any type 13 augs yet ? or have i just not looked hard enough
types?
# Mar 23 2007 at 9:51 AM Rating: Decent
I have not found anything myself.

Type 1: is what your powersource seems to intereact with
Type 2: LDoN, Discord (pvp?), and TBS weapons procs?
Type 13: The raw data "augtype" for type 13 is 4096. Have not found anything yet at eqitems.13th-floor.org or lucy and have not done enough katta stuff myself to say its not out there. In my opinion, whatever the type 13 augs are will make or break whether this stuff is better than CoA class gear.

oh, i found out about the type 13 augs. first off they are not any in game yet, but what they will be for is augs which will Boost the purity of energeiac armor (in turn causing the armor to draw more power from the equipped powersource). So be on the lookout for those.

on the matter of if this armor is beter than anguish gear or not it's kind of hard to say. my cleric has 4 pieces of praetorian armor and uses a shadow powersource, causing it to have More mana than the anguish pieces for most slots (except the chest). like praetorian boots + shadow powersource = 321 mana. anguish cler boots = 310 mana. (these are un-augged numbers). the praetorian boots also have beneficial spell haste, which makes my clerics sacred light casts faster which I definately want.

Anguish armor however seems to have More AC and resists. the HP and mana on praetorian armor can exceed anguish armor, except the chest and legs.

add in the type 13 aug and they would exceed it even more so in those areas, but the bad side is that you can lose stats. the shadow orb takes some HP, so the HP catagorey for her praetorian armor is far below the anguish gear. My cleric has enough hp though, I care more about mana. She almost never gets hit except when i raid , and if she is getting hit then we are most likely wiping so the extra HP would not have mattered anyway.

anguish: more balanced, more ac, more resists
praetorian: more possible hp or mana, better focis

In my opinion of course

This is correct.
