Simply giving roughly 1800 bandages to Joogl Honeybugger in misty (even if he scowls, you're high enough he will allow the quest long before you're ready for PoM) will get you from max negative faction to max ally faction with all but the clerics' guild.
Why do they make these "charge" items anyway?
Don't say it's because only druids are supposed to have the spell, their Epic gets a 49 Necro spell(same as), so that doesn't fit.

Druids normally have DoTs also. A DoT on the epic isn't out-of-class.
Necros, however, do not normally get ports to Druid rings. It is an out-of-class ability.

FYI - Gnome necros do not start out KOS to halflings. If my wife wasn't a druid, I'd love these. This druid ring is one of the closest to a bank in the game, if not the closest.

When they un nerf PoM I will attempt to get these nice leggings. Not for the effect. Kinda useless to most of us Necros. The +15 STA/AGI is why I am going after these legs. and Yes I will get a pair of Kael/Thurg/SS legs and that would be for its effect. And the closest port for me in game is my Worker Sledgemallet effect Overthere.

The reason these leggings (as well as all other leggings from the gift box quest) have Circle of Misty is that the halflings are the chosen race of the god of PoM (Bristlebane I believe but not sure). These pants take you back to the people who love the god who made the pants.

That would make sense, cept 999 out of 1000 necros are kos to the halflings, so that wouldn't be much help

If you are going on a PoM raid, it can safely be assumed that you are no longer a n00b. If you are planning on staying there to do the IN-PLANE quests, it can also be assumed that you are uber.
So...

I think it would be a lot of help. Before I started my necro, I played a halfling warrior, a halfling druid, and a halfling rogue. After playing all of these chars, there is nothing I want to do more than slaughter the kill stealing halfling guards at the gate in the wall. Sure, by the time I can get to PoM the guards at the guard will all be green, but it will still be fun.
Also, it will make getting to the bank in Runnyeye a little easier for those of us who need it.

umm... like the last guy said: unless you have killed yourself about 6 million gobs in misty then i REALLY doubt that any necro will EVER do this quest for the effect on it...

Well, since you have to be at least level 46 to get IN to PoM, and you need to be level 55 or so to effectively do these quests, I seriously doubt if a necro who ported to Misty would have ANY trouble from the two little level 20 druids that are at the Misty Thicket Druid Ring. They wouldn't even attack them. Once there, its a simple thing to Gather Shadows and run past the guards.
