I farmed one of these a while back with a buddy sham while I tanked Yeli with my monk .
At lvl 26 atm my SK does actually somewhat surprising DPS .

My guild downed Yelinak awhile ago and there were no SK's on the raid and this dropped. I had a 55 SK close and ran him to Yelinak's corpse and looted this for nothing. For free this is an awesome weapon and since my SK is only 58 now this is still a great weapon. The ratio, resists, HP and other stats are great.
I have one problem with it though. My chars are on separate accounts and my main is a 65 chanter. This means that when I 2-box my SK and chanter I have VoQ (and VQ hehe) on my SK at all times. The effect CANCELS NDT eventhough I'm VoQ'd. This has repeatedly bugged me. I've sent bugreports and feedbacks but I don't think it'll be fixed soon. The illusion component of both spells are conflicting. Mind you, if you are in skelly form the NDT will not cancel it.
NDT is primarily a combat innate and not illusion and has much more benefit over the mana regen of Call of Bones.

Nice weapon, but very situational:
Soloing/fear-kiting w/out good enough mana regen.
Otherwise, you should be using a 2hs for better dps or a Frostwrath (equal dps, but 150dd proc.)

I used to think that i had to hit for 3-400 to be very usefull in grp..With this pitchfork i do around 6-700 damage befor those expenisive windblades can double for 400. I'm telling you guys, this thing flat **** rocks, watch out for argo though if you not the main tank--)

WTF are you talking about? Are you talking about the Soul Defiler or the Two-Tined Corpse Pitchfork? Because it sounds like you're talking about the pitchfork, yet posting on the Soul Defiler and either way not making much sense.
This weapon really is only any good for the effect, the ratio is very nice but 2h weapons own 1h weapons.

It's the skill and not the weapon that makes a difference. For example: A warrior may have two 1 hand weapons that can be put in either melee slots but can't equip both until level 13 (Warrior and Rogue duel wield level). Hope that helps.

Once you know the strategy to killing yeli easy u can do it with id say 24 people preety easy. we have killed him many times with between 29 and 35 with only 1 or 2 deaths and those being losses to enrage or low health aggro.

Hello guys and gals, I was just wondering if anyone out there knew the spawn time on old boy Lord Yelinak? I would like to kill him with my guild but I do not know if we can do it or not. We have about 41 level 60's and about 60 active peeps altogether. I was just wondering if it truely was possible to kill him with only 37 peeps like some people reported. In any case I would like to know when he spawns and how many people it would take to kill him please. Thank you very much.

Not 100% sure about spawn time, but definitely can be killed with 37 peeps. I have a friend that claimed that guild killed him with about 30, but this guild is about a Tier 6 or so guild, so they probably could.

My guild killed Yelinak for the first time a little while ago, he was wielding this sword.. And proc'ing it.. Thus turning his huge dragon form into a tiny little skeleton for all our melee classes to crowd around. Our rogues couldn't land backstabs to save their lives.
What's more, changing Yeli from dragon to skeleton disables dragonbane for wizards.
Suffice it to say, I think Yeli's a lot harder when he has this weapon...

OK this is a bit off topic. WTF is VI thinking with this illusion crap. Dragon goes to skel form because of necro nuke lets say. Now you can't land the Drangon's bane on it because it's not a dragon right? Except you can't land undead spells on it either. So wizards are to stupid to see past the illusion, but necro's aren't?
It's just very irritating to have 2 nukes you never use. You don't use them soloing because your DoT's are so much more mana efficent. And you don't use them grouped because it changes the melee box. And the illusionless nukes are hard to find. <**** **** ****>

dang good point :) made me chuckle a bit. I always wondered (as a cleric) why I couldn't undead nuke a necro dot'ed mob.

OK, I am an sk so i'm not complaining but DAMN. Do you realize that if you goto Equipment->by slot, 1 handed slash, and scroll down to the bottom of the list where the best weps by ratio are that this sword is the best (by ratio) 1hs in the game?! (Useable, of course, the Sword of Truth cannot be used by any races or players) And its SK only, most of which have been using 2hs most of the time. Then, further up the list the next few swords are sk/pal usable! You have to go up at least five spaces to find a 1hs thats warrior usable. Those DW bastards are supposed to get better gear than us, well guess again...
Too bad there are 14/18 daggers from luclin which blow the **** out of 14/21...
This sword was upgraded a bit ago to 21/19, I believe. There just isn't an SS for the new ratio.
And you can't really compare SK/Pal 1h weapons to dual-wielder 1h weapons. Sure, the ratio is much, much better on high-end knight 1h weapons, but that's because they lack dual-wield. If you look at two high-end DW weapons (like the acrylia handled broadsword and baton of flame, for example), their damage output would be quite a bit higher than this weapon.

Um... Soul Defiler makes SoP look like a rusty long sword, this is 100x better than SoP, and you should not have given up 2hs because you got a SoP, since you want to someday get your epic, or some NToV 2hs weapons...

forget these arguments go after the sword of pain it rules.. i gave up my 2hs skill for it.got this blade and i llove it,, the ac rocks + the dm/dly rules,, 19/25 when i was using an arbitors, instantly sold arbitors cuz i was outdamaging it with the SoP
...this blade induces some erectile function.

This sword has the best ratio (currently) of any 1hs in the game but Allakhazam wont update it. I have sent several emails (with picture) but he wont do it. Anyone else want to try? This weapon deserves its place at the bottom of the 1hs page.

The new upgrade to 21/19 has made turned the weapon from Ho-Hum to Holy-Moly!
Having been blessed with this weapon PRIOR to the upgrade, I was merely playing with it for the cool skeleton form proc. Now, it is my main weapon. I have even stopped working on my epic, since this has a better ratio and I can use a shield with it, boosting my AC/HP much more than a lifetap-DoT proc ever could.
I can out-taunt a non-epic-wielding level 60 warrior with this thing, without resorting to using my Taunt skill or casting spells.
