Book Text:

Excerpts from a burnt
journal.

I still don't understand
what I have done that
offended them. They have
kicked me out and said that
I will not be allowed to
return. They are true to
their word. They have done
something and I can no
longer teleport into their
city, nor even into any of
the habitats. And the
kedge were so fascinating.
It is a shame that I can no
longer work with them.

The expulsion from their
city may have been a
blessing, despite the
portents that have happened
since. I think I have
finally come up with the

materials needed to make
the conduit and the
equipment. While it is not
nearly as good as the
equipment that they make, I
believe that there will
still be some demand for
it.

Since the darkening of the
sky last week I have found
some material that seems to
have the same properties as
what they were using. I
believe they called it
sunshard. Though what I
have found around Norrath
is not of the same quality
as what they were using, it
still seems to work
properly. The larger the
quantity found, the more
pure the material seems to
be, and the more

efficiently
it can carry the power into
the equipment it is built
into.

Sunshard dust can be melted
and mixed with iron ingots
to make iron conduit, while
pebbles work best with
copper, and ore works best
with silver. I have not
managed to find anything
else that works better
than the silver and ore,
though the combine do have
better. I do wish I could
have gotten that secret
from them, but they just
would not share.

I also found that the
freetide merchants here
have the proper quality
materials for the silk,

leather, steel and other
components needed to make
the equipment. The conduit
itself is what makes the
difference in the armor,
more than the other
materials, so you will not
need different grades of
material for the various
equipment. The exception
to this is the wand. The
iron conduit works with the
bloodstone, the copper with
the star rose quartz, and
the silver with the
peridot. I have also found
that the full plate armor
molds that the freetide
merchants make are very
economical and work
superbly with the full
plate armor.

I know with a bit more time

I will be able to solve the
mystery of the energeiac.
