These do drop still. Got some on a Brood Mother. Fairly rare.
Not as rare as the BP. ^.^;
Do these still drop?
# Aug 09 2002 at 2:09 PM Rating: Decent
I have looked for these endlessly for weeks and it seems no one has ever seen or heard of them. Do they still drop? Are they fake? Anyone have any recent info about them at all? I'm thinkin my SK would love a pair but I'd hate to keep wasting my time if they aren't available anymore. Any information at all would be appreciated...

Not fake, I have a pair that I swap out with barbed dragonscale boots when I need resists on my 50 sk.

They changed the look of sentry armor I think. From what i've seen of recent sentry armor, it looks like the quest/PoG armors now.

Black Ice Looks...

Like black Ry'Gorr. My rogue's got a pair of the greaves and the sleeves, and they're the Ry'Gorr texture, just black. It's very nifty looking. ;)

Heh, you can't really say that these look like Ry'gorr, because there aren't any ry'gorr boots...

Seriously, tho...ARE there any boots out there that'll match ry'gorr pants? I'm not too concerned about how I look, but in almost every visable slot ry'gorr was the best, cheapest/easiest choice for me (plus It's a nice camp)...Except for the feet.

I found that Cougar Skin boots (quest in Iceclad) look pretty nce with Rygor. Deep black boots with a gold trim around the top on a HEF Ranger. Just look under Iceclad Quests

True, there are no Ry'gorr boots; however, Sentry armor has the same graphics as Ry'gorr and there ARE Sentry Boots. My ranger has a set of this armor and he looks quite spiffy in it :).
How is it...
# Aug 10 2001 at 12:19 AM Rating: Decent
.. that these only have 5ac less than what the sleaves and legs do combined???
RE: How is it...
# Sep 08 2001 at 7:50 AM Rating: Decent
much harder to get, fewer classes can wear so the higher ac is justifiable i guess
Odd...
# Aug 09 2001 at 6:28 PM Rating: Decent
Seems odd thta bards cant use these. Most items that are WAR, SK, and ROG usually have bards included, why not these?
RE: Odd...
# Sep 23 2002 at 6:03 PM Rating: Default
The AC and stats on these are significantly better than the stats on the other Black Ice items. 21 AC is the same AC as the Thurgadin Shadow Knight quest boots, for instance. 13 AC is far less than the Thurgadin Shadow Knight quest arms :)
RE: Odd...
# Aug 09 2001 at 9:23 PM Rating: Decent
Actually, the classes on it are *very* odd, since there's no consistency about them. Rogues are chain wearers, Warriors and Shadowknights are plate wearers. The other plate wearers (bard, cleric, paladin) and chain wearers (ranger, shaman) aren't on the list. The only thing I can think of for the class restrictions is that the boots are "evil," and only usable by classes that are distinctively not "good." Though why warriors would be included and shamans not, in that case, I don't know.

Very weird, anyway.

Actually, it sort of makes sense from a role playing view. "Black Ice" does not sound like something that generally goodly-inclined cleric and paladins would want to have something to do with, rangers also. However, Rogues(Who're rather on the shady side), SKs(who are VERY on the shady side) and warriors, who have no trouble being on the shady side, would lean towards "black ice" from this standpoint
Just my after work rambling...

My only dissent is that Black Ice Sleeces are Pally/Ranger wearable.

Odder still is that the sleeves and leggings do have all those other classes on them...just the boots do not.

The other classes could have been un-intentionaly left off the list. If the other pieces do include all of those other classes, then I would gather that the suit itself was probably meant for more classes then the three listed.

On the other side, I seem to remeber some other armor that had an odd piece like this too (a more restrictive piece) but for the life of me can not remember what it was. I guess it couldn't hurt to send /feedback and mention it (if you have these and one other piece), to see if someone just messed up on the allowable classes.

I believe the armour you're thinking of was Gnomeskin, from the ToFS.
#Anonymous, Posted: Aug 09 2001 at 6:25 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Is there a full suit of this black ice stuff out yet? What does it look like when worn? Any url's out there with pictures? How can a lvl 1 rogue get himself some???? naw just kidding on the last part =p more info would be cool as to if other black ice drops are found solely found here.
