I have a 53 enchanter and a 46 rogue, and that helped me considerably when it came to items and prices. I am a 35 druid, who started making these when I hit 188 in pottery. I had my chanter make a stack of clear mana, and 20 bars of magic clay (ack, non stackable), and I had my rogue make a stack of white lead. I was successful 60% making the unfired idols. I am still having a difficult time getting Perma Crystals and Iron Oxide, but I do have 5 finished idols ready for my friends who want them. The rest are going on the market.

Windru Peacekeaper, 35 Druid of Karana
Master Potter 190, Smith 175, Fletcher 162, Brewer 147, Baker 142, Tailor 106

Bofor Shinystone, 53 Enchanter
Master Jeweler 204

Cibbas Sneakystone, 46 Rogue
Journeyman Poison Maker 82

I made my first one of these today. I did this with a 168 pottery skill and 213 wisdom (with Insight cast on me) on the 1st try. I failed on the next 4 attempts however. It took some research to find the info online, and it wasn't 100% correct, so I will post what I know here...

Ingredients to make the Unfired Idol: (combine in pottery wheel)
1 Large Block of Magic Clay
1 Vial of Clear Mana
1 Imbued Gem
Sculpting Tools

To create the Finished Idol: (combine in kiln)
1 Divine Glaze
1 HQ Firing Sheet
1 Unfired Idol

To make and collect the individual ingredients is the tough part. But you also need to enlist the help of a rogue and enchanter as well. (if you are not one already)
An enchanter can use the Enchant Clay spell to make magic clay.
Vial of Clear Mana is created using the enchanter spell Clarify Mana, but requires an Emerald and a Poison Vial.
Gems are imbued by a cleric or druid of that faith. You must select the proper gem for the kind of Idol you want to make. (gem listing to follow)
Sculpting Tools can be bought from several pottery vendors.

Divine Glaze is created by combining the following components in a Mortar Bowl: (also available at pottery merchants)
1 White Lead
1 Iron Oxide
1 Permafrost Crystals
1 Flask of Water

A rogue with poison making skills can create White Lead by combining Lead Sulfide and Limestone. (these are readily available at the merchant outside the Kaladim Bank)
Iron Oxide is a ground spawn in Steamfont around the large cogs by the Minotaur Caves.
Permafrost Crystals are ground spawn in Permafrost Keep.

Here is a listing of Gems and the Deity they belong to:
Bertoxxulous-Black Sapphire
Brell-Ruby
Bristlebane-Periot
Cazic-Amber
Erollisi-Rose Quartz
Inny-Sapphire
Karana-Plains Pebble
Mithaniel-Diamond
Quellious-Topaz
Rallos-Jade
Rodeet-Opal
Solusek-Fire Opal
Tribunal-Ivory
Tunare-Emerald

I hope this information saves you valuable time, and wish you luck in this project.

I have been searching all over, but unable to find the recipe for this idol. Can someone please post this? I would like to try and make one.
I make these on Drinal.

Rare.
Hard to make.
Requires a Plains Pebble that can't be bought at vendors reliably.
Nobody ever wants to pay enuf to justify making them.

Having said that, It's my most commonly sold idol without a rival or doubt. Karana worshippers covet the wisdom in almost every class.

Everyone seems to want one, however probably ten percent are willing to pay enuf to make this item worth me even making. I try to keep one made up whenever possible.

Feel free to contact me on Drinal if you need one. Don't worry about haggling on price. This item either gets sold at what I quote or I keep it. Simple as that. This is one idol that I know I'll sell for my asking price even before its made.

I do think the 1.5k price someone mentioned below is a bit extreme, but hes right generally speaking. Ranged slot Wisdom items command the value. So long as these things are as criminally difficult to make as they are they will continue to command that value.

My hats off to any other master potters out there. If I'd known then what I know now I'd never have touched the wheel.
=)

You can get 1.5k for these wisdom range slot items. The next stat boost costs about 5k for a +5 wis. so 1.5 is not that bad. They are tough as hell to make though, so don't expect them to be for sale often.
my story with this

I either got this given to me, or as a throw in in a trade. I dont remember exactly. Anyways, i tried to sell it for 300pp (i just guessed no one had an idea of what the price was) but the person i tried to trade with went ld, i lost the idol, they lost their money. GM said there was nothing he could do.
