I hope this was a joke, you are aware it is possible for them to make the effect not work at level 14?
Haste is incorrect.

Haste percentage on these remains unchanged.... they're still clocking at exactly 0 percent haste on Luclin. Testing methodology is as posted below, using a character without double attack so that double attack firing didn't mess with the testing.

Harmonic Dagger, 22 dly in primary hand. Charred Guardian Shield in secondary to prevent attacks from it interfering with testing.

Over 360 seconds, a total of 163 attacks were made, including misses, dodges, parries, and ripostes. That was with no haste items, spells, or songs affecting me. I was never stunned by the NPC.

I then equipped the Silver Chitin Hand Wraps, and repeated.

Over 360 seconds, a total of 162 attacks were made, again including all misses, dodges, parries, and ripostes. Again, no other haste items/effects besides the Silver Chitin Hand Wraps were on me.

Just to ensure that the testing was accurate, I then equipped my Cloak of Flames and repeated the test again. Over 360 seconds, I attempted 219 attacks, without any haste items/effects other than the Cloak of Flames. This confirms the Cloak of Flames to be approx. 35-36 percent haste, as it always has.

Conclusion on the Crystal Chitin Hand Wraps is that they are still approximately zero percent haste. If you have testing showing otherwise, please feel free to email it to me at ziyadah@usit.net. I'd be very interested in seeing what testing method you used that showed you any haste percentage on this item.

Agreed! I won these last night and tried them up against a FBSS and a dragon born sash. Now i didnt use any fancy math or all that I just dueled my friend until we felt comfortable saying we saw no change from being totally "haste free" and these gloves. So i contacted a gm to ask if this was a known issue and he said they are looking into and hope to have it fixed. Damn well better i wanna sell these bad boys and get a nice cloak for the lizard!
Oh and please do not trade these promising whatever haste some boards posts. Wait till VI fixes the issue then go about the trades.

Permanent Haste

I estimate somewhere between 10 and 17 percent on the haste.

Im curious about the value of these. The way I figure it, you get 9% more haste than a FBSS, and can wear a nifty belt (spider fur, for instance). That gives you 10 more ac, bringing your total gloves/waist ac to 15, the amount of a decent pair of gloves. Because of this I figure the value to be pretty darn high. What do you all think?

About measuring haste..
While that is the way they "measure" it... it is not how it works, it is still an increase of your "attack speed". They use general damage increase, which also takes in account a mobs defensive skills, your misses, and such, thus making it unpure, watch the timing of your swings. Too much is figured in your damage to have it consistant without rounding and you're not just getting haste. Figure out hastes yourself, or just look up websites for their values.
That is how haste works.

The point is that haste is not applied directly to delay. If it were how could you achieve 100% haste (i.e. 0 delay)? You can't. The simplest way to think of haste is to convert the percentage to a decimal fraction 21% = 0.21. Add this to 1.0, giving 1.21. Now divide the delay by this number and it will tell you the new delay. Using this method tells you that a 100% haste would basically cut the delay in half, which is correct (doubles the number of attacks in the same period). The key is to remember that haste is not directly applied to delay. When people make that mistake they wonder why 50% haste, a common situation, has not cut their weapon delay in half when it is really only cut by one third.
Haste Percentage

Okay guys, you all need to learn how haste is calculated...because it is NOT the decrease in delay that is DIRECTLY affected. Haste affects the damage done over a period of time, and does this by lowering delay accordingly. FBSS is debated whether it is 21% or 17%. If you take hits/time without FBSS and then with FBSS and divide, you end up with about 17%. HOWEVER, the correct haste is 21%. monkly-business.com does a great job of explaining haste. First, you take 100 over (100 + haste %), in the case of FBSS it would be 100/121, or .8264462. Notice that 1 - 100/121 = .1735538, which is close to the 17% that people calculate. You multiply .8264462 by the delay of the weapon and there is your ACTUAL delay of the weapon. This is helpful when reading the spdat.eff and looking at spell hastes, because that is how they are calculated. Also, all hastes on castersrealm are calculated this way (FBSS is 21% and not 17% there) so it helps to have the correct formula for multiplying out the hastes.

There you go, so you know how haste works. SPREAD THE WORD!!! And don't forget to check out monkly-business.com under "skill guides" if you're still confused.

Good luck and cheers,

LOL, "spread the word".....one thing first, FBSS is 9% haste. You hit 9% faster, 9% more hits. etc etc. Haste cap is 75% so when you got a chanter with epic, Shissar that is 61-66% (dont remember exactly) haste, you dont need better then FBSS.....then ofcourse ye want better cause of the ac on the belt. Ppl should really try out stuff themselfs before they speak up. And NO, ppl who say that if you add bla bla bla you get 100% haste and that is 0 del you would attack all the time, that is wrong just because of the 75% haste cap.

FYI, haste cap is different for different classes. Bards cap at 85 percent.

30% seems correct to me too.

You must have parsed yours before the upgrade MDuprau, or you need a new set because yours are broken.

1. What is the delay on your main weapon?
2. How many times do the combat buttons blink in 30 seconds without haste
3. How many time do the combat buttons blink in 30 seconds with haste.

Your numbers dont come out right, for you to have 24 rounds without haste you would have to have a weapon with 12 delay.

If your speaking of "hits" or "swings" your numbers will be be incorrect because you may not dualwield or double attack each round, some rounds you may only hit once...

know what im saying?..

Remember when calculating haste do not count hits, count rounds.

Aye, sweet gloves dropping of the Frenzy Velium spider, seems to be a random pop on ramp, we could kill it with a group of 3 peoples yesterday, Mage 56 Cleric 55 Necro 54, went down pretty fast. After talking with other peoples in the zone it sounds to be the common drop of the spider, the spider being a rare pop.

Good luck :)

To accuratly test the haste, you should do it using logs as they post times to the exact second.

Using the logs, this item is 30% haste no question.
