Great peice of gear!
# Aug 19 2002 at 5:19 AM Rating: Default
This is an underated and undervalued peice of gear for both legit players and twinks.

You've got a blade that comes off of a level 10 mob (although it's in a dangerous zone) that procs 60 points of poison dot at 1st level that can be used by just about anyone.

They sell rather cheap in the bazaar when you can find them, otherwise, it's a case of camping the enterance area to LF with one's ranger or druid for a bit.

It's a strength-reducing poison, not a dot.

I bought this from a merchant for 41pp thinking it was pretty cool.If i knew it came from a level ten mob,i would have killed it myself.Sigh,oh well, its still a nifty weapon.

Enchanters are not kos to brownies either, in most elemental forms. Or casting benevolence on one. Thing is finding one to cast ben on :)
I think necro's are ok in skelt form too. btw the brownies will buff and heal the skelts roaming around, jsut fyi.

Anyways, I was on Firona Vie server hunting for Ghasts for Tunare quest, and this thing jumped me!
Was green to 14 but still gave xp, so I got the item. Impossible to sell, noone wants it, I can't make a twink to give it to, so I'm stuck with it.

I had one very young when i first started playing game. Went for around 100pp then. Now I finnally saw one again and it brought back memorys. 50pp was the price it went for. Very nice rogue item. Fun to say you have been creating poison at lvl 1 hehh
Be in wofl form and you will be safe

Unfortunately, only druids and rangers can change into wolf form unless they group and turn you into one. :)

Brownies will not aggro wolf form. Just don't go running into the Tier'Dal or Shadowed Man camp. Hehe. Good luck
NOT 200pp

These things, even giving the zone now being harder, still only go for like 30-40pp on a good day. The 25pp you see here is more often than not the correct figure, and many times it dips to 20pp if you pay close attention to the auctions of it that still happen (i've seen two in east commons and one in, of all places, queynos hills) most people don't want it (rogues/etc can get better, casters save their money for spells) so often a frustrated salesperson will get cheap on it...

No promises though... i discussed this item with a friend (who earned it with a level 42 druid to give to his level 3 enchanter) and he leans more towards the 40pp price.

I got this dagger almost 2 years ago when I first started playing everquest - hunted that wasp in Lfay for days... It's a rare drop, so you're not going to see many of them.

Crookstinger (the wasp) is a level 9ish mob. unfortunately, lesser faydark is now swamped with level 30+ brownies that you can't see until you've been affected by their DOT's. As a result LFAY is now a ruined zone for what it was designed for. So anyone hunting one has to be at least level 30+, and when you're that level, what's the point???

The nice thing about it is that it goes in the off-hand. With a good DEX rating, this thing will proc a 6 damage mild poison dot (which is nice as it prevents monster regen as well). I use it when fighting casters. Pretty good I must say.

They can go for 200 pp if you're lucky. They're pretty rare.

"As a result LFAY is now a ruined zone for what it was designed for"

I usualy try to keep myself from doing this, but what was it designed for???

There is High level Dark Elfs , Orcs(one or two that still con blue to 25) and mind mistmoore castle is right off this zone, this zone is not meant for newbies to be wandering into very deap or fighting in, and certainly if it was, they would end up in mistmoore while adventuring, we all know it wouldnt be a good day for that newb.

I realize gnomes have to pass through this zone if they want to see any of the world but its not supposed to be a newbie zone.

"I usualy try to keep myself from doing this, but what was it designed for???"

Lesser Faydark was originally intended to be a zone for levels 8 to about 16. Not that it was ever hunted in very much even before it became mostly a deathtrap for people of that level range. Still, that is Lesser Faydark's intended level range. The wanderering mobs (with a few notable exceptions) are in that level range and most of the camps in the zone are for that level range.

"There is High level Dark Elfs"

Who are static spawns (meaning easily avoidable) that haven't always been in the zone. They were only added in the year and a half.

"Orcs(one or two that still con blue to 25)"

Who are intended for the level range I mentioned. The only 2 orcs that /con blue to 25 are the Orc Chief and Orc Legionnaire, and they both spawn in the same spot (meaning only one is up at a time). The other 2 or 3 orc camps have no such mobs that /con blue to a level 25.

"mistmoore castle is right off this zone, this zone is not meant for newbies to be wandering into very deap or fighting in, and certainly if it was, they would end up in mistmoore while adventuring, we all know it wouldnt be a good day for that newb."

Now that was a stupid arguement! Kaesora is in the Field of Bone (newbie zone), Cazic-Thule is in The Feerott (newbie zone), Permafrost is in Everfrost Peaks (newbie to mid level zone). Hell, Lavastorm has *3* mid-to-high level dungeons in it (SolA, SolB, and Najena) and that zone's level range is early to mid teens.

"I realize gnomes have to pass through this zone if they want to see any of the world but its not supposed to be a newbie zone."

No, but it is supposed to be a lowbie zone. If you had done any thinking or research before posting this, you should have realized that.

I hope this post wasn't an indication of the rest of your posts on this site. Otherwise, I find it hard to believe that you have a rating of "Scholar". You obviously had no idea what you were talking about when you posted this response.

i picked this item up last night whilei was waiting for the Larktwitter to pop. saw crookstinger on tracking and decided to see who he was, killed him and got poison then he popped again in less than a minute and got my dagger from him. all this was not more than 5 minutes after dropping the spider queen, another monster i had never seen before. also on tracking list was a shadowman leader, maybe im being paranoid, but there were alot of rare spawns last night. i wonder if verant is up to something?
nah

Just out of curiosity, WHY? its pretty bad
RE: Why

aside from it being heavy a all get out for a wasp stinger (must have a cast metal grip) as an enchanter I'll tell you one why. At lvl 49 the weak poison when delivered will prevent regen during it's duration. An Enchanter can wield it. Now how much would that be worth fighting Bulthars?
