hehe actually this quest is more than a year old as my Paladin on Bertoxx had gotten it then..been wondering about "the next step" I know there is a second as to further...aslo you have to follow the directions perfectly and somewhat quickly can be fustrating but for my 2cp.s this IS one of verants best quest wise. an interesting one. 8o)
This series actually goes somewhat far now. I got the last badge...err..trying to remember off hand, but I beleive it is AC 5 STR+4 WIS+4 INT+4 AGI+4 HP/Mana+25 Effect: See Invisible (worn)
The battles are kinda tough, so I'd suggest a good group of 40+ with Cleric and Enchanter handy, just for ease.
As of three days ago at least the investigator does not respond to the spoken "follow me". He will respond when you type /pet follow me.
Dont forget to get your blank confession document from this fellow before leaving for SK and the interrigator. Ask for it before handing in the head and two signed confessions.
Got the helm, then got the book, found the investigator, found the first suspect, got the confession document, told the investigator to 'summon a guard'... told him AGAIN to 'summon a guard'... and again and again etc.
After 'bout 15 minutes of trying to get this guy arrested (the 2nd suspect had not spawned, so I suspect that one must do them in order) I gave up and let the investigator walk away (I assumed he went back to his tree). Just when my partner and I were about to GG out of there, I see the message that the first suspect was arrested. Too late for us: the investigator had de-spawned.
I petitioned and submitted a bug report. Hope others have better luck than I especially since it seems the Interrigator's Badge Quest is bugged too.
It just took me two whole days of trying, messing up some little thing, and then having to start all over...but I did it!! It is mine!!!!! Now, I would like to do the second part of the quest, but I heard that Markus and Morley have minions and they have a lot od HPs. Anyone know if harmony works on these guys? I sure hope so, because eventually, I want the researchers badge!!!!!! Wish me luck!
If this item follows a progression similar to the coldain ring and the prayer shawl quests, then the highest level versions of it will have some kind of neat effect. Personally, I would love a Qeynos Gate spell with unlimited charges.
Argfeld Level 51 Monk Order of the Scattered Winds Bertoxxulous
The Investigators Badge (No. 1) can be continued like other items in the game. But there is a flaw to it, it is not yet active. I asked a GM was the quest broken (only joking though), and got into a conversation. Lucky me i was able to make him come out with some info. He said 'The quest is still in progress, it can be led on to gain a better badge at higher levels. When continued the stats raise by 1 ever time completed until finished with higher stats then the last'. I really hope he was not just pulling my leg, and somewhat lieing about it, i can't wait until you can follow on from No.1 to like No. 8 hehe, great stats then (AC 8, 8 STR, 8 WIS, 8 INT, 8 AGI, 40 HP, 40 Mana) that would so rule!
Since the name of the badge is Inspector's Badge (not inspectors badge number 1) what might the name of the other badges be? My guesses of potential badge names: Peacekeepers Badge Detectives Badge Seargeants Badge Lietenants Badge Captains Badge Vice Lord Ispectors Badge Lord Inspectors Badge
I meant the reward (inspectors badge) is pretty lame. The quest itself is cool. And as long as the quest builds like the shawl quest (sans pottery and cooking class) it will be a blast to see it through. a 10 str, 10 int, 10 wis, 50 hp, 50 mana, etc. neck piece would be the envy of all.
p.s. Who would have thought an Erudite wizard of Solusek Ro would be so loved by the human guards of Antonica?

I consider this a continuation of the corrupt guards quest with the captain at the NK stone bridge. I am KOS to the evil guards in Qeynos due to bringing the corrupt Karanan tower guards to justice.
Good thing the level 60 guard officer in NQ seems to be gone (or is in hiding) or I couldn't set foot in Qeynos. The rest of the KOS guards are green to me.
I completed this quest last night, and I am encouraged by the story that went with it. It is pretty lame at its current level, but with build-up quests like the shawl, it can get pretty cool pretty fast.
I too hope it will extend to ten quests, but I hope it doesn't require excessive use of trade skills like the shawl quest. At level 52, that is just boring to train trade skills. and if you ever failed at combining five crystaline threads, you know the pain of that 5% failure built into trades.
Hate to disappoint you, but Lt Dagarok, the high level (60?) CorruptGuards Shadowknight, still appears at his post near the pool in front of Crow's Bar, so you're still not safe...
Given that you have to kill a mid-20s mob to get the badge, it should be better even to START with; the only hope is that it does get better pretty fast with successive quests.
Unless the hit is a huge one (which is doubtful since it's not the primary faction hit) then the negative Ring of Scale is probably no big deal. Nothing a few minutes killing in Mistmore wouldn't correct.

I got it last night. Fairly easy, though be careful not to let the Investigator melee the final villain on his own. I made the mistake of rooting the fellow and backing off to cast spells. While I was nuking, the investigator got beaten to death. I had to wait for the stupid guy to respawn...
jpeg compression tends to leave pixel artifacts where there is a change of colors (like black and tan). It's not that this is a fake item, it's that the person compressing it used high compression on it.
If this is a new series I am going to have to get my faction with Qeynos up, especially if it goes in simular iterations like the shawl quests. That would make lvl 5 AC 5 Str +5 Wis +5 Int +5 Agi +5 HP +25 Mana +25, I shudder to think of level 10 <grin>. If so this quest may end up as a must do for most classes as the stats on a neck item like that are simply too good to pass up.
