Mace of Mad Mayhem  

 

When I was a kid/teen I never got to see the Plane of Mischief, it was considered overly difficult with moderate reward for gear. I got started right towards the tail end of Velious. When Luclin released I bought the boxed version and my guild at the time was raiding places like SSRA and Kael. I was 1 of 5 other Warriors on the server with a Bloodfrenzy and ranked in the top 10 warriors on the server according to Magelo. At this time ST and NTOV were exclusive playgrounds for the really high end and for the ultra high end people were doing ST/VT.

Those were the days and although I would go on to tank Quarm in PoTime and eventually burn out / quit after GoD... I never seen some of these places.

Few years later I bought a new copy and revisited the game. Leveled a dr00d to 85 and then a warrior to 80 with numerous twinked out alts. I recently got 80 and was exploring new places to grind and level up as PoFire is pretty much slow at 80 imo, I also considered trying to solo old world bosses and so while roaming through NToV which I had only been to a hand full of times, I remembered oh yeah PoM is in the back and decided to check it out.

After some convoluted maneuvering through the level, lol, I found the King, killed him solo with my level 80 warrior (819 AAs) and merc, and he dropped this weapon. I really like trinkets and tend to collect odd ball stuff. This fit into the 'trinket weapon category' because well Anarchy. SoD had the effect but was removed from the game. I had a friend who got a hold of two back in the day for 1.5MPP. Small sum today considering they float around 35-40MPP now, if you can even find one anymore.

Long story short, pretty useless for my level but was funny killing him. He was downed relative fast, hit pretty hard for 400-1500 (for his level) and I think I resisted all of his spells, lol.

My mage got one in January 2007. VERY cool looking weapon too. Kind of blue and sparkly.
