I've never seen a craftable item found on mobs. So if it wasn't sold to the herbalist, then someone must have given it to him for some unknown reason; or the mob looted it off a player corpse.
The guy who posted that, did so back in 2001. Back then, you could hand items to mobs. It was not uncommon for people to put old items on newby mobs, so that new players could get them, without encouraging people to beg.
this also ended up being used by griefers, to give good weapons to newby mobs, which would then go around slaughtering all the newbies. Especially back when you could buff a mob.
Why? Because you're not gonna find a better ring for casters maxed on int/wis unless you go to ToV bosses, Dain, Yelinak, etc... heh considering you can buy these in NFP for a few hundred PP, these fookin rock.
I'm getting my Thurgadin BP soon. When that happens, I will be way over on wisdom. Swapping out my +7 wis ring and Forest loop for a velium jaded ring and black sapphire. Much more Mana and HP, decent AC as well. Better for cleric than 6/65 ring.
Any Iks, Ogre, or Troll SK, or at least MY iks SK, would benefit from a set of these (we just don't gets the brains of those DEFs). How much for these?
While the 2AC loss is minor and a nice gain in mana, most Shaman wear the Velium Fire wedding rings to max AC with the HPS as a bonus since Hps = mana with cann.
I'm not disagreeing with you, but I'm curious as to why this would be so much better than the other ring. I understand that in place of 70hp for 60mana (considering you have a pair) also a loss of 2ac, which isn't noticeable. But why is this so much better?
this ring is better for casters who are maxed int/wis
mana items are like drops in the bucket. 50 mana on an item here, 50 here, 60 here... and before you know it youve got an entire extra cast of a nuke, heal, ...whatever spell which to me is worth more than extra hp. maybe to those people who are constantly battleing ubers its not, but for regular exp grouping, this is better.
