46 warrior with 4000 hps soloed this. it took warrior to 20-30% hps. Only virtue and one shaman buff was on her. This goes out to that sexy ogre warrior Subu. Good Job girl!
Sorry this was suppose to go under Equestrielle the Corrupted.

No more stories or anything else ... can we stick to the point .... what EXACTLY is the horn used for? Nothing? Anything? Something? Someone out there has to know!

I killed this horse with my 49 Mage's pet and a nuke. My pet only lost 2 bubbles, :P. I got that horn from corpse

I forgot a cardinal rule of travel. Always clear you target so you know what had attacked you if you get jumped.
I was running around killing Unded for the ghast heart when he shows up on track. Humm I think to myself is this the other spawn for the rest of the Tunare sequence of quests? So off I go to find out what this thing is. My track says he is ahead and all of a sudden I get nailed for 401 hp. I stop and turn to find out what it was and nothing is there. I still have Thistle Underbrushes corpse on my target. Track still saying that the horse is up ahead and not behind me. Well I think mayby this thing is invisable. Most likly a SK so I sit to mem starshine real quick incase I need to fear it, when I hear hoofs gallaping toward me fast. I stand up and my nose get broken by several blows from some hooves. Yiks this thing hits hard. I do what druids are very good at and run for my life. OMG if this thing isnt on me like black on coal. I stop take a few hooves to the spine and try to root it. 3 resists and im down to 1 bubble of health. Cast number 4 and it takes. I tuck my tail and hall but. stop mem gate because I have no idea where the zone is. I stand and cast. "Interrupted" aaaaa. What the heck I didn't even move. Maybe I am shaking too much. I cast again. Bubbles formulating in distorted space around me. Just as I'm almost done casting the horse is up on me. It swings... Loading Please wait. Did I die? Cant read for the text is all meshed together from the zoning. I arive at my bind point fully clothed and 100 hp left. wooooo.
I am a 52 druid and it coned blue to me. A level 60 ranger was in zone and took it down solo loosing 2 bubbles of health. That was exiting.

You travel around in unfamiliar territory without SOME form of evacuation memorized? BAD DRUID!
My 53 mage got jumped by said Nightmere and dumb caster that I am, I let my pet fight it. (air I think). Lacking the insite to run away or gate, I stay there and start nuking. 30 seconds later that seemed more like 31 seconds, I'm standing there with a healthy pet (minus 1 bubble) and a fist full of Unicorn Horn Fragments.
I thought you said he was tough.
As for the Unicorn Horn Fragments themselves, I hope there's a quest involving them. 2 shots of purge couldn't cure a mild case of Creeping Crud. Though they could be more useful if they were stackable.

I was hunting pixies for dust for baking when this guy came up behind me and hit me for about 50points and they tried to fear me. of course since i was also killing brownies i had my full MR gear on and buffed (MR was about 110). i resisted his fear turned to see what hit me and she was gone. i spent the next hour tracking her down with the help of a lvl 45 ranger (man i wish druids could track as well as rangers). he took agro for about 30secs while i got her snared and rooted. after i got her snared and rooted the take dowan was way easy. btw she kept up with me and i was in wolf form (form of the howler).
the ranger was taken down 2 reds and i got hit for about 100 points total. a few of her lower nukes got me but not for much.
got the horn fragments but i still have not lcue after reading the post what it is for. i let the ranger have it since he took most the risk for the kill.

This has been on Equestrielle's drop list since Day 1 EQ. I killed the regular version a couple times maybe a year and a half ago and she dropped these same exact fragments once and the unicorn horn bard instrument the second time.

Cleric friend of mine had the crap scared out of him when he spawned and mentioned it in guild chat, so I came and killed it with some help from the cleric and an enchanter. The Dread Caller dropped an Idol of Petrified Koada'Dol Flesh, which I have yet to find out the use of. Had Identify cast on myself while holding it and all it told me was what was listed on the item already.

Ok, here's the deal with Equestrielle the Corrupted. Ythslath NXXXXXX (Can't remember the exact name, but it's the named Iksar Necromancer that spawns around 8, 12 in Lesser Faydark, to get him to spawn you have to kill the Brownie Scouts as they're on the same spawn table.)
Ok, Ythslath's quest file is bugged as well, if you hail him he talks about Fear, Terror, and Dread, however if you use the trigger word it will say CANNOT FIND TXT FILE "FILE TXT.TXT" or something along those lines. To get him to continue with the quest, you have to pull an undead sprite near him and somehow force the sprite to taunt you which than trigger's Ythslath to speak of the rest of the quest. (I did this buy feigning and then sitting, causing the sprite to taunt me).
Ythslath speaks of Equestrielle the Corrupted, and how you have to kill her, and take her blood (Blood of the Corrupted) to The Dread Caller (I have never seen this spawn in lesser faydark, but apparently it is a miniature Cazic Thule in the Frightling Tower... probably a triggered spawn from Equestrielle's death, unsure of this point).
Ythslath tells you to take her blood, also refers to the blood as "the gate" and take "the key" to the Dread Caller and you will be rewarded handsomely.
I hope this helps, and/or clears up any confusion on the matter. I've got the Blood of the Corrupted, but have yet to see The Dread Caller. I'll keep trying and keep you guys posted.

This was dropped by normal one before the corruption also. It was common, whereas horn was rare.

got one last night with the eye. Unicorn took me down a bubble and a half at 59 toe to toe melee. Certainly a n00b basher in the purest form. Purge seems like an ok thing for PvP. The eye? Not a frickin' clue. I had just gated to lfay from breastplate and saw her on tracking. I think max i got hit for was 110 or so. Lfay is quite different than when i was a n00b there =).

Oh Dont forget that the original unicorn horn which dropped from the unicorn is a Bard instrument with i believe 9% effect added to the bard spells when used. So this item is alot different than just haveing fewer charges. I would think that maby since its horn fragements that it may be used to obtain a better bard verison of the horn maby with a higher % added to the spells. And not all the corrupted animals are involved in druid only quests. there are also several necro and cleric quests invoving corrupted critters.

Actually there are 3 corrupted mobs in Wakening lands that are for a Elven Paladin holy sword recived in PoG :) Corrupted panther, corrupted Unicorn and Corrupted Faun.

Saw a 56 Druid kill this baddie in Lfay not too long ago. Horse booted me in the face for 112 and proc'd 10 point fire based dd on me.. The druid that killed it said he got a "chipped unicorn horn" (magic, lore, no drop) and the horses eye (also magic, lore, no drop).. no one in zone had ever heard of the corrupted version of the horse before.. maybe something new related to the frightlings and undead sprites.. dont know.. hope this helps someone =)

Effect is the same as the norml horn from equestrielle, just less charges. Its a poison/disease cure, so if you get hit by a DoT from a shammy or necro you target yourself and activate this.
The complete horn has 5 charges, while this only has 2. I'm also curious as to whether it IS a quest item. It isnt LORE or NO DROP which would be unusual. Not to say that it wont be, there are plenty of quest objects that are tradeable.

Well i for one am interested that it may be used as a quest. I noticed the one posting that the dark elf says something about it being too bad that she can not obtain the horn. I still have the original horn that dropped form the unicorn before it turned. I wonder if she would need it or there may be a way to recombine the horn fragments back into a horn to give to her? interesting i may have to look into this.

Well i researched this stuff for about 18 hours straight farming the entire zone to get as much quest items and information i could find...I thought it would be cute if i submitted this pretty much useless item Mr. Anonymous, i'm glad you actually took the time to call me an idiot. makes me feel good inside ;p

This might be tied in to a new Dark Elf NPC in the area...Here is some text from a recent quest posted:

I cannot let you go without reward, it would be a foolish loss of investment. Here, at least these hides should be of some use to someone. It is truly a pity that I cannot obtain Equestrielle's horn

Actually, I wish everything was 20 weight so monks couldn't do anything because I hate whiney monks so much. (Obviously you're being sarcastic, though. Just adding to the fun. :p ) Something coul be 10 wt and have that little 'MNK' at the bottom an monks would say "It's a monk item! See? It says so! It says 'MNK'! I DEMAND that I be able to roll on it!".

Um, NO you are wrong if you think all monks whine about wt and if it says monk its mine. I for one dont roll if its not an upgrade or if I can't even use it. Need before greed...if its not an upgrade for anybody in the group then we all /roll for it. I carry 5 leatherfoot haversacks so wt isnt even an issue. If they insist on keeping /split on..hey no problem , I keep the pp and delete all other money.
