I am not sure what the anon guy who was whining about gear is talking about .. but I solo'd even cons to 27 UNTWINKED .. earned all the way. I continued to solo about 75% of my levels up to 60 which I dinged SOLO in velks killing spiders. So if you are a monk and can't solo blues .. you have a lot bigger issue then monk gear .. hmm .. lack of skill and class knowledge comes to mind. Well played monks are about as good as it gets from a soloing perspective .. epic equipped rangers are up there as well due to their slow proc. Necros still are the best soloers in game from my experience ... And as far as this item goes ... its a GREAT neck .. and monk only is unbelieveable. And if you happen to have other than waist slot haste and have a bile etched obsidian choker .. throw it in the waist slot and you have about a 90 hp gain +stats and about 9 raw AC (at least over what I am wearing now). Monks own :)

well coming from a 52 monk whos has fought 60 monks your whining is obsurd the 60 monk owned me 60 rog and almost a 56 shammie monk is not a class u play and expect to uber right from the start it takes a long time to get the right gear then u become uber and hard to own for any class regardless of what they only way out for them is running, this is coming from my exp in pvp with 60 monks lol

Its been a long time since I have seen a piece of Monk only equip that wasnt a wep.
Usually monks are left looking through the low wt trash from other classes.
Im happy for monks, they really do get jacked when it comes to non weapon equip.
There should be alot more monk specific armors.

Wtf do you know about monks? We're all FOR not needing gear... but we suck without it... our disciplines are laughable, our gear is uber gear or someone elses garbage... and Verant manages to tell us in the same breath that we don't NEED gear but we are comparable to warriors if we have the RIGHT gear... errrr...so which is it morons? Do we need it or don't we? And any piece of sh*te that rolls around with 0 weight becomes tagged monk gear and when good gear with low weight gets tagged monk gear everybody whines... it's only monk gear if it's crap no one else wants...I'd love to NOT need gear... I shouldn't need gear...but even decked out as best I can... I still can't solo blues...a distinction I share with 2 or 3 other "balanced classes"...

As a monk player, that does get frustrating. But, deal with it people. Mocking those posts in the very way that frustrates you justs makes you a hypocrit. If someone posts that a +INT/WIS belt would be great for a monk because it weighs 0.5 lbs, confront them about with a reply or post ON THAT ITEM. I think the problem is they made every character (including monks) very item dependant. There is no way a monk can survive a fight with little or no equipment which is what was stated on Verants original description of the monk.

If anything new drops that isn't the best item in the game, complete with 100% haste and +100 to all stats and 0.0 weight, you people take it as a personal insult and a tribute to Verant's stupidity. The monk that started all this flaming is obviously not in a position to loot any of them, because if you are you know that you cant keep any of the tali's very long much less permanently due to your guild wanting Sleeper keys. So pls, do us real monks a favor ... get your head out of your bum and stop just comparing stats from a list and get your head in the game( or out of it mind you) and stop giving monks a bad rep (

Aren't first brood and yelinak talisman for the Sleepers Tomb quest? If so then they shouldn't even be taken into consideration since most of the guilds that kill those mobs only do so for the keys.

The Fang Necklaces from ToV are class specific, and enhance class specific/emphasized stats. A monk won't usually need cha/int/wis during battle, and this gives more of a boost to agi/dex/hp than the first brood/yelinak. These help out a high level monk moreso than would the others.

Ok, This is getting out of hand. I play a monk, and I find it damned offensive. I always see all these posts with people complaining about how monks are always saying every item should be their's. Yet, I rarely ever see a serious post with someone saying something would make a great monk item. I see more people mocking the concept then it actually happening. And when it comes to posts complaining about it, there has to be a 10 to 1 ratio. That is, for every post there is about an item being good for a monk, there are 10 posts complaining about it. Would you all just SHUT THE HELL UP

No it would be uber if it had 75% haste, see invis, symbol of naltron and sow on it lol get over it peeps there are much worse and some better items out there for every class/race. for example as a necro i would rather have a amulet of necropolotince (sp?) but with the neg 100hp i could never see a monk use it

Here is where we teach all of the monks. If an item is labeled monk only, then only monks should roll on it. All other items should be rolled on by anyone who wants them.
