I was killing SG with a group 5 last night. The group members were between 55 and 61.
An Enchanter and high MR is a must. In about 2 hours of killing we left with 4 Runed Shells (Breath) and 4 Runed Shells (Cloud). So they are not too rare.

After Aug 26th's patch,the eb shell never drop again,is it a bug that the quest can not continue?

They are not No Drop, or LORE. Bought one today for 499pp in bazar on EMarr. There were at least 20 of them for sale at the time ranging from 499-1500pp. Succeeded on the first combine and was trivial to me with a skill of 144.

I suggest that when you hunt for siren hairs you keep a sharp eye out for one of these to drop, i got one since i have an eb item i quickly destroyed this shell (not knowing what it was used for). So i went the the baz to find them selling for 2.5k each on vazaelle server. Watch for one if your baz prices are high like vaz server.

with Enduring Breath in CS, except the Runed Sea Shell Necklace - 5 charges. Bought a Runed Sea Shell
- 1 Charge Endurinf Breath. Would not combine in the
Mortar Pedstal -with Sm Vel Brick. After much
reding and comparing the jpg's .. realized I had the
Sea Shell with the: "Cloud" Effect .. not the one needed. Am now hunting SG for the Sea Shell with
"Effect . Enduring Breath" Thanks to all that posted

Are these NO DROP, for some reason I am thinking that they are but I'm not seeing it in any post here nor is it on the graphic of item description. If I can buy this from the Bazaar I'll gladly pay 400 - 500 on the Kane Byale server.

after the patch, i haven't see any eb shell drop from sirens. did they change the drop rate?

OK guys.. since they changed the Sirens in SG to make them harder... they are indeed.
I used to solo them and could handle 3 at a time. (65 mage btw).
I just went there today with a 65 chanter and they are much harder. Adds galore also. I wasn't able to find a real safe place and such either. My point is. You will need about 4 level 65's on the average to camp the Sirens in SG now. GL to all.

Alright folks, here it is. This drops in Sirens Grotto ONLY. The one with (cloud) is much more common. In CS a runed seashell necklace drops, looks just like the runed sea shell, but is a neck item with 5 charges of EB. (and NO even if you expend 4 of the charges, it will NOT combine for the shawl 7 quest.) On a sidenote, the trivial for the pottery combines ( with this item) is 162. Confirmed myself. Sells for approx 500 to 600PP on TP server. hope this helps ) If you go hunting for em, have 1.5 to 2 groups go in the 60+ to 55 range. Keep magic resist up at all times, oh and don't drown as the whole zone is underwater ;)

I personally think it is unfair to have 2 items with the same name in game. It causes confusion, if you ask me. I understand that there are 2 different effects, but that is beside the point. I was honestly hoping it was a bug of some sort, but after reading here, I guess it isn't :(

Strange as it may seem, I could not find anyone who had actually gone hunting for the Runed Seashell with 1 charge of Enduring Breath. And yes they definately drop in SG, and in all the hunting we did in CS for the 6th shawl...we did not find any there. Anyone I had talked to had either bought theirs or been given it from a friend.
So the question became, where are the sirens that drop the seashells? In the orginal map posted at EqAtlas, it was a map from Quester of Norrath and was missing the eastern half of the zone. If you now go to EqAtals, the maps have been updated (by Draelon Stormsong) and if you choose the level 1 map, at location neg550, neg 250 you will find a white area, which happens to be a castle. That is where the sirens are. It is their castle/fortress in fact.
We took 2 groups (lvl 55 avg.) there and held the castle area for over 3 hours and collected 11 Runed Seashells. 6 of them had the 1 charge of cloud for the 9th coldain ring quest and 5 of them had the single charge of EB, for the 7th Coldain Prayer Shawl.
In my reading I had seen references to a well (loc pos75, neg50), but have not been down it yet so I have no idea how many spawn there.
The siren seductresses, here in SG, are slightly tougher than the ones in CS, as these ones also cast Gravity Flux... we popped to the ceiling a few times...lol.

Ive tried to find this spot 3 times, and have died 3 times trying to find it. As a lvl 65 Druid, invis drops when the seahorses hit you, the mobbed by fish, and IF you get out of the water, you are visables and get mobbed by the other ugly things in zone. I soloed my tooth from WW side, but am unable to find this "castle" of sirens.. Any help?
The one that drops in Cobalt Scar is 3 charges of EB and is not the 1 charge one that is used in 7th shawl (oh how I wish it was). Hope that clears it up.

I can definetly confirm that I looted one of these in Colbalt Scar from one of the 3 Sirens at the cave entrance to SG. Approx date was april 5th, 2002. Unfortunately, I must have destroyed it due to lack of room before I knew its worth. (Sigh) thought I was done with being charmed every single fight.

There are 2 types of this that drop. Runed sea shell (EB) which has 1 charge of Enduring breath and is used in the 7th shawl quest. Runed sea shell (cloud) is for the 9th ring quest. The way to identify them is by there effect EB has Effect: Enduring Breath, Cloud has Effect: Cloud.
I honestly haven't fought alot of sirens in the grotto and so far the only one to drop the EB was the named Mistress Latazyra. I did get the Cloud the other night off a Siren Seductress.

You are right, these drop in Siren's Grotto and not in Cobalt Scar. Similar to the runed sea shell (cloud) which is used in the Ninth Coldain Ring Quest, these drop off the Siren's in the Grotto. Also you need to head to the Grotto anyway to pick up the swordfish tooth (no drop). Let me know if you ever want to organize a trip Bythton or need help with the sirens.

you are incorrect, I have looted 2 of these while fighting the sirens in Cobalt Scar from 3 spawn near skyshrine. and they are both (EB)

I have hunted the sirens in CS several times for the 6th coldain shawl (took 4 attempts and 2 attempts for a guildmate). They drop a runed necklace with 5 charges of enduring breath, not the shell with 1 charge. The graphic is the same but the items are not.

Are we ABSOLUTELY sure that this drops off sirens in COBALT SCAR and not sirens grotto? This runed seashell is a quest item for the 7th shawl, and while it may drop, I certainly haven't seen it while getting 6 hairs from the sirens.
