Looted off a Drachnid Warrior.

Here is how I did this with a 95 Druid and 95 Bard.

1.Bind at quest giver Shadowalker Dustspirit with druid.
2.Secondary Bind AA at instance with druid.
3.Shroud down to level 65 on bard in Plane of Knowledge.
4.Teleport bind AA bard and druid to Shadowalker Dustspirit.
5.Give shrouded bard some plat for mercenary upkeep.
6.Cast Plane of Knowledge Ring on druid.
7.Shroud down to level 65 on druid in PoK.
8.Unsuspended mercenary on bard (must keep merc out to count as third person the whole time)
9.Say “I’ll aid” to Shadowalker Dustspirit with bard and chose “Freeing an Elder” it will not say normal or easy and the hard choice will not show up. Only one quest will appear in the window.
10.Remove shroud on druid.
11.Secondary Recall AA port to instance on druid.
12.Zone in.

Fully buff up druid, everything you have.
Pop cleric merc on druid for HP buffs then suspend.
Pull as many as you can, basically until you get stunned too much or lag too hard.
Vinelash the group.
Use the 91-95 AE’s (or higher for future expan packs)(Crashing Hail, Tectonic Tremor, Helical Flare, and Lunar Chill)
Use Remote Sunburst for heals.
Have the Twincast spell and AA ready and use any time they are up.
Plus any other damage pluses, aura, wolf, first spire, etc.
Find the pattern you like to clear zone, mobs path funky in the water areas.
Loot everything except the swords and orc heads, they don’t sell for enough to warrant the space they consume.

Vendor sell all loot after every couples of clears, depending on bag space. Each clear is 5-7k plat.

Takes 40min to an hour depending on how big you pull. Clearing the bodies takes the most time.

I got the totem on clear 8 and clear 9. If you see the Mask of Ardent Spirits drop you got the hard version somehow. If you follow these directions as close as possible you’ll be good to go though.

Got this to drop in 2nd misison we did. Let friend loot. now just dropped again in the 8th mission. Going to try for a 3rd later.

edit : got another in 12 mission. I almost gave up halfway through when the hive wardens choker dropped. but continued and got the totem at mob 215 in the 12 mission.

I'm currently 4/4 on getting the DA clicky. With the average grp lvl of 65. Basically after i get the task i go back at 85 and just mass pull as many as i can an Riposte kill em all with Counterattack/Rogue's Fury. Each time i have done this has resulted in one dropping for me..

Would you like to know how many mobs there are in a Hive instance? Because I can tell you!

It took me 2 full clears, and a few partial clears to get the drop. Each instance houses 265 mobs (from logged experience messages), so I would say the drop rate is something like 1 in 1000 kills, or 0.1%.

The previously posted information is accurate. Get a normal version of longshadow 1 "Freeing an Elder". The one without "(Hard)" in the title.

I'm not completely sure of the level requirements, but the maximum spread for the mission is only 10 levels (a PC shrouded to 60 produced an error message). If a group average level of 65 must be obtained, the only way to do this is to have all members of your group shroud to 65, and then get the mission.

Once you have the mission, you can deshroud, and then go farming. To be safe, I had a level 65 shroud enter the zone first, to ensure the mob level was maintained while deshrouding.

The mobs are light-blue to a level 75, have less than 30k hp and hit for around 500. If you're consistently taking hits of 1.5k you might not have a low enough group average level to get the correct version of the mission, but there could just be a few hard-hitting mobs.

You do NOT have to engage or kill the named to get the drop.

As indicated, it should be a zone-wide drop from any mob. My drop came from a spider in the bottom floor of a structure on the bridge network. On the map, the structure next to the south-eastern hive.

The recast timer is item-dependent, not type dependent, and therefore does not share a timer with Feral Guardian Channeler. You can use both in succession.

I hope this clears things up a bit.

Where does this drop? In a regular zone? Instanced (EG, mission)? Any known mobs that drop it?

Looks like a Feral Guardian Channeler, but with a Recommended/Required level on it. Would personally prefer this one, for the higher hp/mp/end, since all my stats have been maxxed for ages.
