The Flute is part of the Whistling Fists quest. If you ask Master Raska "Who is Gandan Tailfist" he will tell you that he was a commander that he sent in search of the "Whistling Fists" but all they have ever found was this worthless flute. If you turn in Part one and Two of the "Torn notes" of of the Iksar bandits in the Field of Bone he will give you the Flute and some small change. I'm going to start my long journey on aquiring these now hehe wish me luck everyone :)
"an ancient thin flute" is dropped by Brother Balatin in the Dreadlands at the wizard portal. It identifies as "Flute of Zan-FI". The version of Brother Balatin that drops it is the high level (60+) respawn after a monk turns in the pipes (Zan & Fi) and the robe. Sometimes (always?) Brother Balatin drops two flutes at a time. No idea at all what the Flute is for, however.
i got this flute by turning in the 2 pages of a torn note found on an iksar bandit. it gave me little experience and 2sp. i'm not sure what its for but someone told me its for a higher lvl monk quest.
This flute has nothing to do with the Iksar monk shackles. I've heard rumors it's for the Whistling Fists (which as yet do not exist). Obviously since the Whistling Fists do not exist, this rumor is not reliable. Maybe some day they'll get added, but I'm not holding my breath.
Does anyone know what this flute is for?? Everyone is like.. lost valley in the dreadlands or give to some guy for 4sp?? There must be more to this flute?? Anyone have any ideas??
